Whats the role of neutralizer in hair straightening?

When I went 2 d shop 2 buy L'oreals hair straightening cream it was sum 290/- but d nuetralizer along wit it was sum 550/-.SO does a neutralizer also straightens hair?C I hav triled many straightening creams lik belina, welastrate etc but they only keeps my hair straight when its wet, I need d name of cream that will keep my hair straight after getting dry also.Waiting 4 ur reply guyz

Whats the role of neutralizer in hair straightening?

Neutralizer locks the hair into the new shape. Same as in a perm, the perm soluton is applied and it breaks down the bonds in the hair allowing it to conform the new shape of a perm rod. After the timing is up the neutralizer is applied to the hair on the rod to lock in the new shape. Without neutralizer the hair stays the same shape it was before.

Whats the role of neutralizer in hair straightening?

Neutralizer

After the relaxer is completely shampooed and rinsed out with warm water (it can not be hot or cold and must be warm) a neutralizer solution is added to halt the relaxing process and restore the pH balance to the hair. The neutralizer is also known as a stabilizer or fixative. The neutralizer for a thio type of relaxer will actually re-form the cysteine cross-bonds in their new position and rehardens the hair.

From the time that the relaxing chemicals is removed and the hair is shampooed and than stabilized, the hair is extremely fragile and should be handled carefully.

Sometimes the chemicals will leave a reddish cast on the hair. When this happens the stylist can apply a special color rinse to remove the red cast. Sometimes this cast is not evident until the hair has been dried. The color rinse may be applied to dry hair as well.

Whats the role of neutralizer in hair straightening?

Neutralizer shampoo or neutralizer stops the action of the relaxer and locks it into the straightened state.

Some products the hair will revert back to its curlier state if neutralizer is not used.

Also, the neutralizer helps balance the ph of the hair.

Whats the role of neutralizer in hair straightening?

Actually, relaxers don't make your hair pin-straight. It makes your hair 'relax' its natural curl or wave pattern so that it will be easier to blow dry/flat iron, and to make it more manageable.

Whats the role of neutralizer in hair straightening?

The best thing you should do is japanese hair straightening...if your hair is long enough for a flat iron to grasp on to it, then you must try this! I have tried millions and zillions of products in the past and nothing has kept my hair straigt..however after doing the japanese straightening it is wonderfull...the cost is a bit high, but your hair stays straight until it grows out..even when your hair is dry it stays straight...its great...ask a nearby salon about this process...i recomend it to people who have frizzy puffy hair and want to tame it down...

I have thick curly hair. How well does Japanese hair straightening work? Does it cause much damage?

I've heard that Japanese hair straightening really helps. I know it's kinda pricey, but I think it will be worth it. But I'm still wondering about how straight my hair will get. Obviously, at the salon they will make it look great. But, how do I make it look nice on my own??? I dont' want to kill my hair with a million chemicals, but using some products are ok (I use Frizz Ease). Also, will I still have to go through the entire hair straightening regimen like always, or will there be less work on my part? Will my hair still frizz in the humidty? Can I go out at night and not have to worry about my hair pouffing up???

I have thick curly hair. How well does Japanese hair straightening work? Does it cause much damage?

Japanese hair straitening works really well..Its a lot like a relaxer but after they put the chemicles on your hair they use heat to get it to its maximum straitness. After you put it on your hair will be really strait and will not curl at all, you would have to use a curling iron if you wanted curl at all. If it is done right you will not have to use a flat iron at all, but if its not you might have bends in your hair that you will have to straiten out yourself. but that should only take a few min. The relaxer here will run you anywhere from $400 to $1000 dollars and lasts untill you get regrowth and you will have to have your roots retouched after about 3 months.

I have thick curly hair. How well does Japanese hair straightening work? Does it cause much damage?

I had a friend who had this done, and her hair was gorgeous. She said it still had a slight wave after she washed it, but that it was easy to blow out. Her hair was not frizzy at all, and the process made her hair very very soft.

I have thick curly hair. How well does Japanese hair straightening work? Does it cause much damage?

I also have curly hair and have thought a lot about that Japanese hair straightening! My mom got it about 2 years ago and her hair looks great! About every 6 months she goes back and they re-touch the roots that have grown out and it doesnt cost much! Everyday she takes a shower and goes... That's it! No products! And her hair doesnt frizz to much, but she does use Frizz Ease on those extra humid days! Good Luck!

I have thick curly hair. How well does Japanese hair straightening work? Does it cause much damage?

I am also a curly girl, and considered Japanese hair straightening for a while, and decided against it. It is very bad for your hair, and also looks really strange when it starts to grow out. If you decided to straighten it, you wouldn't be able to go back. I've been able to get control of my curls by using ridiculous amounts of conditioner... Redken All Soft in the big tub works the best for me.

But if you still want to straighten it, it is a possibility. And japanese straightening takes all the curl out of your hair, so you would not have to straighten your hair manually. You probably would still have to blowdry it, though.

I have thick curly hair. How well does Japanese hair straightening work? Does it cause much damage?

Works really well. You can depend on them. I use this Japanese straightening thing and it works wonders and never was broken. Now, before I bought that Japanese one, my old straightener broke in 6 months.

Can African-American women have Japanese hair straightening? Is this healthier than a relaxer?

I have natural hair that is proving much harder to maintain than I had anticipated. I used to have braids (read: almost zero maintenance). I don't have the time, energy or manual dexterity to do this by myself. I cannot make myself comb my hair any more as no amount of detangler makes it bearable. I'm not getting twists. I really don't have the money for the weekly press %26amp; curl that won't even hold up for a week.

I do not want to go back to braids and I don't want a relaxer, but these seem to be two options that I can deal with. Then there's Japanese hair straightening...

Can black women get Japanese hair straightening?

Have YOU had Japanese straightening and what were the results?

Can African-American women have Japanese hair straightening? Is this healthier than a relaxer?

I have never tried the straightening technique but I researched it and I thought about it. Then I realized that the relaxer breaks down the hair cuticle layers, then I discovered that the Japenese technique also breaks down the hair cuticle layers, so I figured I might as well either stick with my natural hair or go back to a perm, since scientifically they do the same thing to my hair.

I am an African American Women with natural hair(I started by transtioning for 14 months and then I cut the rest of my permed hair off, 10 months ago - now I am totally natural - and my hair is 3 inches past my shoulders - (stretched out of course).

During the fall, winter and most of the spring I wear my hair in a afro puff or I go to the shop and get it flat ironed out (like a curly, bouncy roller set). I just wrap it around and am good for about 10 days and I wear a neat pony tail for the other 4 days, then I go back to the shop to get the process done again.

But this summer and last summer (especially since I didn't get any braids) has proved challenging. I found a good routine for my hair, especially since (like you), I am not the best at styling my own hair.

Basically, I have found out, that different products give my hair different results.

If you are not careful, then finding the wrong product can make your hair big and swollen, hard to comb through and some products will not define the natural curls, we have in our hair (and it ends up looking like an unattractive afro).

Anyway, Going through all the phases and trying new styles caused me to dig into all kinds of different products to make my hair more manageable.

So here's my suggestion for you -

Remember to mix and match for your hair specifically (till you find something that works for your hair).

This is what I use:

RedKens shampoo called "Fresh Look curls"(i'm going to try the suave version of this product per it's way cheaper). This shampoo turns your hair into a sea of tiny, tiny curls, it's great for making your afro puff look defined - you will get compliments. Also, I know people say do no poo technique, but I found that my hair is stiff and swollen if I don't shampoo - I think the best technique is finding a good shampoo that works with your hair.

Suave's Professional Sleek conditioner - (I know this is wierd but wet the hair, apply the Sleek conditioner first, then add in the fresh curls shampoo with it (comb through your hair with your fingers for 5 to 10 minutes) and rinse. My hair looks really pretty when I do this.

I love IC's aloe vera gel (either the clear one, which makes the hair firmer than the blue one, or the blue one, for colored hair (i don't have colored hair but I like this one the best - it leaves the hair feeling more moisturized yet you have a slight firmness). This product gives you a neat and groomed appearance everytime - especially for neat ponytails and smooth edges).

I can also apply this stuff like a perm (the blue one ONLY). Just wash your hair as describe above (it should be easy to comb through). Part the hair in medium sections apply the gel to the roots and at the ends (apply liberally and comb through and go to the next section - apply this technique to the whole head). You will probally use half the jar and it takes about 25 minutes to apply it to the whole head. Let it dry (takes my hair 24 hours to air dry - don't worry it looks wavy and pretty as it dries) then add moisture like the triple moisture mentioned below. It gives you hair a full appearance and your afro puffs will be easy to wear daily (just try it - you'll like it). I have had no breakage from this technique - just remember not to comb through it while it's dry.

Last but not least, Neutrogena new triple moisture silk leave-in. It's filled with moisture. I can wake up, take my satan cap off, put this in my hair and pull it into a ponytail or into a afro puff - it's great with the technique mentioned above!

Deep conditioning can be done once a month I use the Organic Root Stimulator Mayonaise Deep Conditioner for this.

Eilsha

p.s. I am not affilited with any of the products I mentioned above nor do I recieve any incentives from them or their affiliates.

Also, I put a link below for a youtube video of a lady using this technique with my favorite gel. Her technique is good, but I have found that I have to apply more gel to my hair than she does because my hair is nappier than hers. Also, I don't mix the oil in, this does not work with my grade of hair, I wait till it's dry, then I add oil or moisture.

Hope this helps with you hair challenges...

Good Luck...

Can African-American women have Japanese hair straightening? Is this healthier than a relaxer?

I am not sure but maybe you don't want a relaxer because it breaks your hair off but try the regular relaxer it burns the scalp less and it doesn't damage your hair as much. You can also get curls if you want I am not sure about the Japanese hair straightener but maybe your beautician knows more about this.

Can African-American women have Japanese hair straightening? Is this healthier than a relaxer?

it is not recommended for african american or thick haired women to use the japanese straightning techniques.

They solutions that they use are specifacally formulated for fine hair with minimal curls [as you can note not many asians have curly hair most have fine straight hair] but they made this for the few "unlucky" ones.

I dont know much about african american hair, I did not study into it as much but i do know that you can use it but will not see very effective results.

hope this helps :]

Can African-American women have Japanese hair straightening? Is this healthier than a relaxer?

Girl why is your natural hard to maintain?? Of course, everything is maintenance. Whether its relaxed or not you have to keep up your hair.

Ok, since you are a woman who does not like to fuss, why dont you try twisting you own hair (i twist mine myself). On a sunday afternoon or whenever you have a couple hours, just twist your whole head as small as you can. You can use shea butter for hold. The twists will look bomb and it will last 2 weeks. You can even wash your hair with the twists in. After 2 weeks you can take the twists out and rock a twist-out for about a week.

Dont comb your natural hair dry, only detangle it in the shower while its soaked with conditioner. Creme of Nature has a great shampoo and conditioner that makes your hair soft.

Have you been on nappturality.com or motowngirl.com?? Its full of advice and style tips.

My hair is not long, i've been natural a little over a year. But u can check out my hair photo album and you can also click on other peoples names to see their albums, and see what styles they do. I dont do too many styles, i hate to fuss and i'm cheap so i rarely go to salons.

Question about hair straightening...?

When straightening hair with a flat iron, is it better to use a lower heat setting and go over your hair a few times, or a higher heat setting and go over your hair once or twice?

Question about hair straightening...?

It Depends On The Thickness Of Your Hair.

If You Have Lots Of Layers Or Really Thick Hair, Use The Higher Heat Setting 1-2 Times On Each Layer To Ensure A Straight Style.

If You Have Thinner Hair, Using The High Heat Level Is Faster, But Can More Easily Damage Your Hair Depending On The Type Of Straightener You Have. If You Straightener Isnt Really Good, Go For The Lower Heat Level 3 Times.

Hope That Helps :)

P.S. Use A Heat Protecting Spray!

Question about hair straightening...?

higher heat setting definitly

Question about hair straightening...?

i think its both the same

Question about hair straightening...?

hight heat tbut before that u can use like a heat proctions!

Question about hair straightening...?

higher heat setting, but make sure you spray your hair with something first that is meant to protect it from the heat.

Question about hair straightening...?

Lower heat several times. If you use the high one, it can burn the ends of your hair. Also, the higher it is, the more frizz it can call

( :

Question about hair straightening...?

it doesn't make much of a difference, but make sure to put on a protecting product first to avoid damage

Question about hair straightening...?

higher.

Question about hair straightening...?

it works better high but if you don't won't to completly fry your hair i would suggest low

Question about hair straightening...?

Full heat setting.

Question about hair straightening...?

I do a higher heat setting all around at night, then the next morning, after I've slept on it, I use a lower heat setting because there's not as much to straighten.

Question about hair straightening...?

my stylist told me a high setting, so you are only going over your hair once or twice. also use protective spray on your hair before you do it to prevent damage..

Question about hair straightening...?

It doesn't really matter. I you want to take time on it, low heat. But if you are in a rush, high heat. But just remember to condition your hair everyday and do it thoroughly.

Question about hair straightening...?

well it depends because the higher setting gets it done quicker but the lower setting is better for your hair. Its up to you really!

Question about hair straightening...?

I'm always use the highest setting on my straightener, and if you want a really good one try the ultra chi. it is a little expensive but definitely worth the money.

Question about hair straightening...?

It depends on how healthy your hair is. If it's fine and delicate, I wouldn't use it too hot. If it's strong and thick, hotter is better.

Question about hair straightening...?

high heat if u use a low setting it will take so much more longer. i know i dont like standing in front of that mirror straighting my hair longer then 15 mins lol i dont know bout u. but if u do that u might wanna try a hair product that protects ur hair from the heat damage i use got2b crazy sleek hair lotion and protects from the blow dryer and straightner i love that stuff it really works ha. good luck and hope i helped

Question about hair straightening...?

hgiher is faster. just make sure to not burn your hair

Question about hair straightening...?

high because its way faster but be careful because you can burn your hair

Question about hair straightening...?

a low heat setting. that way your hair wont be as damaged. even with a low setting your hair will still straighten pretty fast. if you notice that your hair feels different ( like straw feeling ) use Pantene shampoo + conditioner. it will get it back to normal fast!

Question about hair straightening...?

it's about the same, really when it all adds up

i just have it in the middle

Question about hair straightening...?

a higher heat setting.

if you go over it a bunch of times, it increases the frizz.

if you just go over it once or twice, it won't be so frizzy.

Question about hair straightening...?

Do not use a Iron will give more split ends.If you have pretty hair leave it alone God made you the way you are except it.Eye is in the beholder only the one that see the beauty will love the way God made you.Who going to do your hair when your 70 Good luck!!!!

How to use hair straightening serum alone...?

i have planned to use hair straightening serum alone without using hair straightener. my hair is normal but i like my hair to be little straight. will it work? pl help me..

How to use hair straightening serum alone...?

you must use your straightners first then apply the serum it wont straighten your hair by it self. i found a fab serum that keeps my hair straight for a hole week and i only have to use my straightners once!!! http://www.cosmeticsolutions.biz/servlet...

How to use hair straightening serum alone...?

ohhh. it is a delicate procedure. it can stain your skin and will find

it hard to remove it. seek help from a parlor expert

How to use hair straightening serum alone...?

no it wont if u have the slightest curl it will cause it to curl... sry

How to use hair straightening serum alone...?

If your speaking of the straightening serum that is a little oil based that you put on before you straighten your hair then using it alone is fine. But it won't straighten your hair by itself. I hope my information is useful.

Hair straightening and breastfeeding?

I am planning to get the permanent hair straightening done but I am still breastfeeding my son. Is it safe to get it done or should I wait ?

Hair straightening and breastfeeding?

La Leche League says that there is no evidence that hair treatments such as dyes, perms, or straightening has any effect on the breastfed vhil http://www.lalecheleague.org/FAQ/hair.ht...

Kellymom.com (an excellent breastfeeding resource) confirms this: "There is no evidence that hair care products (dyes, permanents, or hair relaxers) used by a nursing mom have any effect on her breastfeeding baby."

Hair straightening and breastfeeding?

you better wait. they'll be using powerful chemicals on your hair to have it permanently straight. they'll penetrate hair roots, and your body that could affect the taste of your breasts' milk. in the meantime, why not buy straightening iron for your hair. same results!

Hair straightening and breastfeeding?

There is no evidence that hair perms, straightening and dying pass any chemicals to the baby during breastfeeding, but there is no evidence that it doesn't either. It can be risky. I would wait. If you really don't want to, pump a couple of feeding worth of milk and then just have Dad feed the baby the first two feedings after you have your hair done while you pump and discard that milk. Then you can go back to nursing, that's what you would do if you were going to have surgery etc. When nursing, it is always best to wait to do anything like that. Good luck.

Hair straightening and breastfeeding?

I don't see how that will affect your baby i'm sure it would be fine. They just don't want mothers to be doing drugs and drinking that will affect the baby cause your inhaling that will get in the milk. even with certain food could give baby gas.

Hair straightening and breastfeeding?

go ahead and get your hair done- it won't have any effect on your breastmilk. It doesn't absord in great enough amounts into your bloodstream to have any effect at all. AND it might make you feel once again like a hot momma... lol, have fun!

Products for hair straightening/styling?

What products would be good after straightening your hair. I want my hair to stay in place and it's just a tad bit above my shoulders. Something that doesn't harden the hair or cause it to feel gross preferably. What products would you suggest for this??

I found a pic of what i mean by "stay in place", the straight out pieces is what I'm going for

http://thelword.webcindario.com/shane3.j...

also, how should i go about styling it in that way

Products for hair straightening/styling?

herbal essences pin straight!

works like a charm!

Products for hair straightening/styling?

CHI spray

Products for hair straightening/styling?

It will probably feel "gross" because that hair style is created with styling wax or hair grease/pomade. It takes a lot of an oil based product to get the "dirty look," which is what that is. You just apply the product to the ends of your hair and kind of it pinch and twist it together and pull it out in the direction you want it to go in.

Products for hair straightening/styling?

usually just add a little hair spray and it will stay..

if you want the straightening job to be more simple i would recomment v05 straightening gel, it works great and saves money to.

Products for hair straightening/styling?

redkin snap proof works REALLY WELL but is a little bit expensive it can be found at beauty salons and hair cutting places

Should I use japanese hair straightening?

I'm a boy and I have medium long hair that covers up my eyes.

My hair is naturally coarse/cury but i've had it chemicaly relaxed about 2 times. My straight hair has almost faded out and now my hair is really damaged and wavy. Should I get a Japanese straightening or is my hair just going to fall out because it's already been chemicaly relaxed??

Should I use japanese hair straightening?

cut the damaged part off %26amp; buy a good straightner that won't damange your hair

try a CHI, they're good

Should I use japanese hair straightening?

Hey- i've had both done to my hair. When i got the chemically straightening done, it was great for about 2 weeks and then it was about how it was. I found that the relaxer worked alot better for me (and was a LOT less expensive) than the chemical straightening did- it shortened my straightening time and was alot tamer after blow-drying my hair. hope this helps!

Should I use japanese hair straightening?

Japanese Hair Straightening.

Does any one have hair straightening tips for curly hair?

I have tried straightening my super curly hair but whenever I try to straighten my hair its all poofy and frizzy and my hair doesnt get completely straight. Any tips?

Does any one have hair straightening tips for curly hair?

hey girl i know EXACTLY how you feel cause my hair's just like yours! This is totally works for me, and it produces sleek, silky and straight hair!! You are going to need:

A shower

A blow drier

A straightener

A boar brush

Conditioner

Ok, here's a step by step way to straighten your hair:

1. Shower, and when you're comb in some conditioner without rinsing. (Preferably straightening shampoo!) This will tame down the frizz a ton and make your hair beautifully sleek and soo much more easier to straiten! But watch out, because if you put in too much, your hair will look like a grease ball!

2. Flip your hair up and down repeatedly to shake the water out and to separate your hair from chunks.

3. When your done, clip up your hair in layers, leaving a layer down.

4. Using a boar brush, blow-dry your hair strait. Point the blow drier down from the top of your head so that it flows with your hair, NEVER have it go up because that's a one way ticket to frizz ville! Repeatedly brush your hair, pulling it so that it strait with tension, not lax.

5. When you are done with one layer, unclip another and do that one until your entire head is done.

WARNING: Do NOT leave any part of your hair wet! That totally damages your hair and frizzes it like crazy!

6. Once again clip up your hair in layers leaving one section down.

7. This time, you are going to straighten it with a pre-heated straightener. You'll discover that your hair is wayy more ready to go your way and not at all as frizzy!

8. When you are done with one layer, do another, one at a time until your hair is all the way done.

and VIOLA! You have sleek, adorable, and silky hair. Hope this helps and hope you get some more ideas!!!

Does any one have hair straightening tips for curly hair?

Make sure you wash your hair and dry completely. Get a good straightener turn the heat up to the max. Straighten.

Does any one have hair straightening tips for curly hair?

After you wash your hair, put in a leave in conditioner, Or go to Walgreens or Walmart and get a chemical straightener, It costs like 7 dollars, and when i did it to my hair (my hair was super curly) it mellowed it out

If you just put in a leave in conditioner it'll calm it down a little after it's straightened and make it smoother.

Does any one have hair straightening tips for curly hair?

try using a straightening shampoo / conditioner before straightening, also anti-frizz creams help too. maybe a higher heating straightener.

Does any one have hair straightening tips for curly hair?

I have really curly hair, and I can straighten it but I use a heat protection spray and bed head hair serum that makes your hair go straight. It works well! x

Does any one have hair straightening tips for curly hair?

when its wet apply serums and anti frizz cremes and gel to keep it down then blow dry it straight with a round brush and finally straighten it at least 3 times very slowly go down small parts

hope it helps

Does any one have hair straightening tips for curly hair?

You should buy a really good straightener and a serum. I use proclaim's serum. I buy it a Sally's. First you should blow dry your hair. Then, depending on how thick and long your hair is, put in enough serum. Then straighten it. I also have super curly hair and i know that it takes a long time to straighten, especially if it's thick, but "it hurts to be beautiful". Then put in some more serum and comb it really well. GOOD LUCK.

Does any one have hair straightening tips for curly hair?

The Chi is the best hair straightener out there. I have tried many different kinds. My hair is naturally wavy and it takes me about 10 mins to straighten my hair. It's a little pricey but worth every penny for the results. Here is a website of the one I use now, hope it helps. http://www.folica.com/BIG_CHI_2_Inch__d3...

Does any one have hair straightening tips for curly hair?

She's right, the chi is the greatest invention, that or the paul mitchell. but most people prefer the chi, you can get them at trade secret salons for one hundred and thirty dollars not including tax. i used to work there and i'd recommend the one inch, although its small it gets the job done and enables you to get all the way to the root. do you live in florida because i have a brand new one never even been used that i'm willing to sell for 95 dollars

Does any one have hair straightening tips for curly hair?

Buy a very good straitner. I have a Paul Michell. I helps prevent frizz and it's specially made not to burn your hair. Do small sections at a time. Comb the area you want to straiten. While you're slowly combing, follow with the staitner. The comb is helping stretch your hair and it makes it easier for the strainer to perfectly make your hair strait.

Before you straiten your hair you can go ahead and use a smooth down oil. Not a lot because it will look as if a dog licked your hair. It's calle REDKEN "smooth down oil" I helps prevent your hair from frying and reduces frizz.

Does any one have hair straightening tips for curly hair?

Use a shampoo and conditioner that are made to smooth and de-frizz hair, then use a smoothing serum on your wet hair. Dry your hair in 2-3 layers starting from the bottom. Separate a chunk of your hair, then clip the rest up out of the way. Hold the dryer with the nozzle pointing in the direction that your hair grows (aka down) so that you don't add volume while you're drying. Once your hair is dry, do the same thing you did while drying and split into sections starting from the bottom and pinning up the rest. Spritz a little bit of spray meant to be put on hair exposed to heat on each layer as you straighten to minimize damage, then straighten in 1 inch sections, going over pieces a few times to get them extra straight. It really helps if you have someone to help you get the back pieces when you're doing this the first few times, especially if your hair is very long. Finish off by running the straightener on a low setting over the top of your hair, and running a bit more serum (2-3 drops, max) over the top of your hair with your fingers to flatten any more fly-aways. Try to do this at night so that you can sleep on it and brush your scalp's natural oils through your hair and touch up any poofy spots in the morning.

Quantum hair straightening...AT HOME?

has anyone tried quantum hair straightening at home? does it work? how long does it take to apply. also what are the steps to applying it? how long are the results and does it work well? thanks!!! PLEASE ONLY ANSWER IF YOU HAVE HAD EXPIERIENCE. I WANT TO KNOW THE ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS. NOT YOUR OPINIONS ON HOW ITS BAD FOR HAIR.

Quantum hair straightening...AT HOME?

I am going to assume you mean the straightener that is thermal, meaning you use a flat iron in the process. If not, I'm sorry. i am a licensed hairdresser but have not worked in several years. I used the quantum straightener on mine and my sister's hair at my house after I stopped working. It worked great on my sister"s hair but not so great on mine. I think it was because I got tired while doing my own and it is not as easy doing it on yourself. But here is the process. But be sure to read all the directions because they may have changed because it has been a couple of years since I did it. You start with washed hair and apply the solution with a color brush staying about 1/2 inch away from the scalp. You also dont apply it to the hair line all the way around until last. I'm not sure how long you leave it on. Then you rinse keeping the hair as straight as possible. You then blowdry till its almost dry. Then you flat iron hair in very thin sections. This step will take about an hour. Then you apply the second solution again with the brush. I think that only stays on about 5 minutes. You thin rinse again. The whole process will take 5-6 hours depending on how long and thick your hair is. You should not get your hair wet for about 3 days. You also should not use ponytail holders or clips of any kind in that 3 days. It is much easier if you have some help! I once got a video from sally"s showing how to do it. You might want to see if you can find one because this was very helpful to me. The results were very good and it did last a long time. Of course you will have to do your regrowth eventually. Hope I helped and answered every thing you wanted to know. Good luck.

Brazilian Hair Straightening..?

Can someone tell me a lot of Brazilian hair straightening? I know that its at least $250 and lasts about 3 months...is it worth it? Does it damage your hair a lot? Does it stay silky and smooth and non-frizzy?

Brazilian Hair Straightening..?

never heard of it but its not worth it. you can spend that 250 on japanese straightening that last for at least half of year. and after u get it done u hair is still silky and smooth and no frizzy. is about 250 depends on the length of your hair. i think its worth of doing this. and of course it damage you hair. anything you do to your hair that unnatural is damaging your hair

Brazilian Hair Straightening..?

I've never heard of Brazillian Straightening...

Brazilian Hair Straightening..?

it's $80 bucks here in florida for medium hair. my sister in law had it done, and her hair is gorgeous, swear, soooo shiny and silky, i really liked it.

Brazilian Hair Straightening..?

They have japanese hair straightening... i've never heard of a brazilian hair straightening. someone got the japanese straightening and said it lasted her all year.

Brazilian Hair Straightening..?

Hello! I've been researching this all over the web. It is referred to as Brazilian straightening and Brazilian Keratin Treatment. It lasts from 3-4 months, and you can't wash your hair for 4 days after the process or use a shampoo with sodium choloride in it (ever!) or else it will revert. It is a much safer alternative than TR because it doesn't use any chemicals. It takes a liquid form of keratin, which is what your hair is made up of and repairs the damage done to your hair from other chemical processes. It also leaves it straight. You can have it done over a TR, coloring process, etc. and you can do these processes after it as well. Whereas, with a TR you have to use semi or demi permenant color and you risk a lot of damage if the person is inexperienced. The most famous brand of "BKT" right now is Marcia Teixtera who has a website with before and after photos, as well as any other questions about the product. Her website is braziliankeratin.com She also allows salon professionals to order the product, so if you want to try to talk your stylist into doing it for you, then refer her to that website. If you have any further questions about the process or simply want to hear testimony, I also frequent the lamasbeauty.com salon discussion board. Professional stylists answers questions on there about BKT and TR and have a lot of useful information. HTH!

Is hair straightening good for hair?

plz suggest me whether hair straightening is good or not and tell me the merits and demerits about it

Is hair straightening good for hair?

ummm...no! if you do it too much your hair can become fried and very unhealthy. there are some things you can spray in your hair to lessen the damages. talk to your hairstylest or a lady who works at a hair place they can probably help more than anyone.

Is hair straightening good for hair?

ask ur hairdresser

Is hair straightening good for hair?

It isn't healthy for your hair.

It leaves it kinda fried.

I have to straighten my hair almost everyday.

Is hair straightening good for hair?

not really but there are products you can use that will help like sunsilk hairapy for split ends or frizz

Is hair straightening good for hair?

hair straightening is good, if you like straight hair but if you leave the iron on your hair it could burn. and if your a clumsy person you can burn your self.. everytime i straigthen my hair its looks better.

Is hair straightening good for hair?

Straighteners are high heat and burn your hair. In about 10 years your hair is gonna start realizing howmuch damage its done. I heard from my cousin whos a hair dresser that it will make you bald eventually. Use a straightening shampoo and only do the ends when they need to be.

Is hair straightening good for hair?

if ur hair is thin then dont take the risk at all but if you have thick hair then just do it only once because u might spoil ur hair.

Is hair straightening good for hair?

if you get protectant its fine

Is hair straightening good for hair?

no, its not good for your hair at all. it makes your hair dry %26amp; it gives it split ends. but there are some lotions and cremes out there that you can put in your hair BEFORE you straighten it to reduce damage %26amp; split ends. it works for me!

Is hair straightening good for hair?

it's actually not good for your hair. because it thins out your hair and makes it not strong. you will get lots of split ends.

Is hair straightening good for hair?

It is not good for your hair it burns it mut i get stuff you can spray on your hair before you straighten it (it dosen't burn your hair if you use it)

Is hair straightening good for hair?

Hey! Straightening your hair can fry it but if you use a heat protecter, then your hair will be fine. I have to straighten my hair every day and my hairdresser said that is fine, as long as you use the heat protector.

Is hair straightening good for hair?

no its ruins ur hair unless you get one that is speicial and made to protect ur hair i have one and it cost $50. you can ask ur hairdresser.

Is hair straightening good for hair?

Its not the best thing to do to your hair. Most hair straigtners are 200 degrees and above, putting that sort of heat on anything cant be good for it. It will dry your hair after a long period of time. I would suggest maybe doing it 1-2 times a week. When you do straigten your hair i suggest using a good quality pair of hair straightners and a good heat defense spary. Trevor Sorbie do a good range of hair products, aimes at protecting your hair, its called the straightning addict range and princes range from about 3.99 upwards.

Is hair straightening good for hair?

it's not good for your hair. it makes your hair become weaker and less healthier. the one good thing about it is that you'll have great straight hair for the rest of the day if you do it correctly. otherwise you could go to a hair salon and get a reverse perm. it's where they straighten your hair instead of curling it. i'm not sure if it's called "reverse perm" but you could always ask about it.

Is hair straightening good for hair?

straightening hair is over all bad

you are fight the natural Structural pattern of the hair

so its never ttoo good for the hair

it usually causes

breakage spilt ends dull hair and dryness

if you use a relaxer you can actually go bald if you do it wrong

if you usee a ceramic or gold plated flat iron you can break the hair off unless you use special formulas for heating hair

its risky the only up is you get straight hair

Is hair straightening good for hair?

Just never do it wet! But it's pretty bad for your hair, yeah.

Is hair straightening good for hair?

Even though your hair can look adorable with using a flat iron/straightener. It is damaging to your hair. You hair gets fried and damaged when using anything with heat on your hair even hair dryers. I would suggest getting bumble and bumble big shine before you straighten, and vo5 hot oil shower works in the shower. That really helps, or any other heat hair helper products!! best of luck to you!!

Is hair straightening good for hair?

Well my hair was naturally curly and like i mean really curly. Then I started straitening my hair and i never saw curl on my head again. I completely changed my hair. That's kind of a good thing because i like my hair strait but sometimes i want it curly. My mom uses a straightener and she frosts her hair a lot and straitening her hair ruins the frost. The hairdresser told my mom not to straiten her hair because it is bad for her hair but it is fine for mine. So it really depends on what your hair is like. DO NOT GET A CONAIR STRAIGHTENER!! Conair straightener do not work that well. Go to Sally's beauty place. That's were i got mine and it works great. Also do not get a ceramic one get a a porcelain one. Mine is porcelain and its called Porcelain Series.

Is hair straightening good for hair?

It's not "good" for your hair the heat damages it. Get a ceramic, ionic, tourmaline straightener. The ceramic plates reduce damage and the tourmaline and ionic technology reduce frizz. The best ones cost more but are less damaging.

http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_d1...

Also use a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner every other night/day. Before and after straightening your hair, use a small amount of a moisturizing heat protectant.

http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Moisturizi_d2...

Is hair straightening good for hair?

Health-wise, it's not 'good' for your hair. It can cause damage and breakage, can cause your hair to be weaker than normal and look fried and dried out. There are some things you can do to help prevent damage from hair straighteners:

-Don't straighten your hair everyday..limit it to 3-4 days a week or less.

-Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner or one that is specifically for dry/damged hair.

-Don't straighten your hair with a flat iron while it is still wet, even if it says it can be used with wet hair. It is more damaging because wet hair is more fragile and prone to breakage.

-Use a serium or mousse in your hair before or while you are straightening it to help retain moisture.

On the plus side, using a hair straightener can make your hair look less unruly, thinner and sleek. And of course, straighter. It is up to you if you want to use one, although prolonged use can and probably will damgage your hair to some extent.

Is hair straightening good for hair?

consult with your hairdresser.she or he will give u proper suggestion

Is hair straightening good for hair?

No it is not.

THE MERITS

* You get shiny, straight hair that flows

* It's easier to detangle your hair

THE DEMERITS

* You damage your hair by applying excessive heat to it

* You have to moisturize your hair more for it to be more healthy

* You can permanently straighten your curly hair with a flatiron and ruin your curls

* Sometimes the straightened style doesn't last because of humidity, water, etc.

there are more demerits than merits so obviously no, straightening is NOT good for hair.

Is hair straightening good for hair?

no not at all it totally frys your hair but it's ok to do it every now and then

Is hair straightening good for hair?

nooppeeeee

Is hair straightening good for hair?

My hairdresser told me that hair straightening is ok if it is done not more than two times in ONE YEAR !! It damages hair .I got it done once ! It lasted for about a week and two or three days after wash . But after about ten days , my hair were back to normal. Instead of straightening them, pay attention to their health by eating right, applying oil once a week an hour before washing and sometimes applying curd and getting them trimmed once in one month or two or three months depending on your hairstyle. Believe me , fluffy , soft hair with light curls look very pretty and glamorous !! If ever you want to get a straight look, wash your hair, get it trimmed and ask your hairdresser to blow dry it straight or blunt!! You will get a straight look for a few days until you wash them or tie them. After that they will beautifully fall back into soft curls !!

Is hair straightening good for hair?

i don't think so.it some times makes the hair dry. more or less it depends on the type of hair

Is hair straightening good for hair?

U can try using steam iron straightener at home .This is safer than spending 1000-4000 rupees for permanent straightening at beauty parlour which is a mere waist.Anyway, permanent straightening last for only 3-4 months. It depends on the hair growth and the texture of hair.Faster the hair growth, faster the hair turns to normal.

The merits of hair straightening is that it looks beauty full on particular faces.

The demerits are that the texture of hair changes.U can even loose the thickness of your hair and may even turn rough later

Is hair straightening good for hair?

no it duz not. my mom duz it all the time!

Is hair straightening good for hair?

messing with hair is the last thing on should do.. never experiment with hair... you will realise at 40 what torture you hair went thru...

Japanese hair straightening system?

okayy so i want to know more about the japanese hair straightening system cause im getting it done (for freee so price is obviously not a problem) i have SUPERRR thick hair curly but not like super curly.. has anyone had it done and what are the results like???

Japanese hair straightening system?

I've written a couple of articles on the subject. http://kiddo-hairextensions.blogspot.com... If you have no other chemical on your hair you are going to worship the ground your stylists walks on. Good luck

Japanese hair straightening system?

Are you talking about "Yuko" treatment? I asked my stylist about it and she said that it works very well. That it makes hair the straightest straight, that it lasts until your hair grows out and that it is not damaging to your hair. You could probably look up "Yuko" online and get some information on it.

Japanese hair straightening system?

It is great but depends on the hair dressers expertise. I have had it done a couple times but it all comes out different depending on the hair dresser.

Most of the time it is good but there was one new hairdresser I tried and she was good. She made my hair a lot softer and straighter than the others.

The next hair dresser was an absolute disaster. I was in tears and could have strangled for burning my hair. My hair looked like straw. So it varies, just go with a hairdresser who is gentle with hair and will treat it well

Japanese hair straightening system?

Japanese hair straightening Question!?

I've had keratin treatments, can I have the liscio japanese hair straightening system done on my hair?

Japanese hair straightening Question!?

I think it should be fine to have the japensese hair straightening system done on your hair after you had keratin treatments. But I think the treatment and the straightening should not be done on a single session. I suggest you straighten 1 week after the keratin treatments. It's best to check with your hairdresser though.

What are the benefits, risks, and costs of Japanese Hair Straightening? And would I be able to dye m

My hair reaches just past my waist (a little longer than a yard) and it is far too difficult to blow dry or straighten. I've recently considered getting Japanese Hair Straightening and I would like to know about the risks, benefits, and costs.

I would also like to know the risks and costs of dying my hair (a darker color, no bleaching).

Would dying my hair and straightening it soon after damage my hair to a critical point?

Lastly would Japanese Hair straightening effect hair dye in any way?

I would be so grateful to anyone that could help me.

What are the benefits, risks, and costs of Japanese Hair Straightening? And would I be able to dye my hair...?

For hair your length, it'll cost well over a thousand dollars to get the initial straightening, and several hundred every 4 months or so for root retouches. In hair so long, it may cause breakage as it will be more difficult for the stylist to remove from your hair (the straightening chemical I mean).

You can't dye your hair after a "japanese straightening" (usually made by CHI/Farouk Systems) with a permanent color or bleach, you can only use a semi-permanent because it's simply deposits and doesn't open the cuticle of the hair.

If you have permanent color on your hair, a stylist may be wary of offering you a straightening service. I certainly wouldn't attempt it without having you sign a waiver of responsibility.

Yuko Hair Straightening.?

Does the Yuko hair straightening system work for african american hair? Only those with experience or if you actually know please.!

= ]]

Yuko Hair Straightening.?

it works-

the thing is when your hair is already relax with relaxer, there is the risk. it's totally different chemical, it shouldn't be mixed.

Also, not for very damaged or bleached hair.

some hair might not be straighten all the way - like loose wave.

still, better result than relaxer...hair swings!

They call it shuku-mou kyou-sei in Japanese. The name is different, most of Japanese salon dose this. or maybe super straight perm, thermal straight perm etc..yuko system is just one of the company name.

Is there any side effects for straightening hair?

i wuould like to straighten my curly hair.I would like to know the suitable methods

Is there any side effects for straightening hair?

Of course, there are side effects, harmful ones at that. Don't believe anyone who says otherwise. You just need to weigh the benefits against those side effects and make an educated choice. If you have frizzy hair, you're probably sick and tired of blowing out and using a straightening iron and, hate how it looks naturally. One nice thing is that it will cut down on that work. However, chemically straightening your hair means that it will be "burned." Depending on the severity of the formula you use and how long you keep it on, your hair could become way too straight, limp, dry, even fall. If you have fine hair or little hair to start with, think twice. And you'll need to be conditioning it a lot and regularly. I've done it a couple of times. Like I said, weigh the costs and benefits to you. But one thing for sure, please go to someone, don't do it by yourself. Get a good recommendation. See that the person is not trying to sell a bag of beans. See if they're willing to do a milder version for you for the first time.

Is there any side effects for straightening hair?

Irresistable urge to buy combs.

Is there any side effects for straightening hair?

your hair will be drier than before , u can protect your hair ends by apply any anti-frizz spray containing silicone

Is there any side effects for straightening hair?

idk

2 points for me =)

Is there any side effects for straightening hair?

Yeah some! But are not remarkable! Curly hair make us sick while combing!

Is there any side effects for straightening hair?

Yes there are effects from straightening your hair! It can make it dry and increase split ends.

But if you only use them every now and then it's not too bad I use mine about twice a week and my hair is in good condition!

Basically I use shampoo and conditioner for dry hair, occasionally I use Aussie deep hair treatment which I would definitely recommend. Then once I have washed my hair I spray on Aussie leave in conditioner and then put a serum heat protector on by Redken. Sounds a bit like product overload but it is ok. The products protect the straightener's from damaging your hair as much!

Hope that helps!

Which hot comb is the best? (Any hair straightening tips are welcome!)?

Hi, I'm trying to find the best hot comb for natural 4a/4b thick type hair (hasn't been relaxed in two years). I currently own the Andis Ceramic Flat Iron and the MAXIglide, but I still end up with poofy hair even after four hours of combing and pressing. Although I use heat/humidity protection, my hair always poofs up while I press a new section. I'm looking to achieve bone-straight hair while avoiding the damaging effects of relaxers/perms in order to keep my hair natural as well as healthy. Of course, I'm still experimenting with different techniques and regimes to reach my goal of straight, non-poofing hair... but it doesn't hurt to ask someone for ideas. Thanks in advance! =)

Which hot comb is the best? (Any hair straightening tips are welcome!)?

i use isoplus pressing oil %26amp; Hot Tools straightening comb...it leaves my hair straight %26amp; soft

Some questions about hair rollers for hair straightening?

do they really work? what size is the best, big or small? does you hair look as pretty as done by a hair iron?

Some questions about hair rollers for hair straightening?

I have incredibly "fuzzy hair." Conair makes the best product. It is a flat dryer/ironer/straightener. It is the first thing in 40+ yrs to work on my hair. It is long and subject to humidity....instead of drying and then flatening my hair this does it all in one.....it is fantastic and YES IT DOES WORK. For the first time in my life I actually have shiny STRAIGHT HAIR. And it is inexpensive ($20)

Some questions about hair rollers for hair straightening?

for you small! im not sure if they work!

My hair dresser quoted my 500 for japanese hair straightening. Is this over priced?

Keep in mind that he is in downtown Toronto and he is a very good hair stylists.

My hair is pretty short. My curls, when pulled straight, hang down to my eyes.

I'm just worried this is way too over priced. If this is reasonable for a good salon, than I'm comfortable shelling it out.

My hair dresser quoted my 500 for japanese hair straightening. Is this over priced?

I have been getting that done for a couple of years and mine is nearly $1,000. Lucky for you! But it does not last forever. Hair grows out. There will soon be a line where the unstraightened hair meets the chemically treated. That takes about a year though for it to be above your ears. It will never fade out though! Have fun with your beautiful new hair!

My hair dresser quoted my 500 for japanese hair straightening. Is this over priced?

I think it's over priced. It won't last forever.

My hair dresser quoted my 500 for japanese hair straightening. Is this over priced?

That sounds about right. It is very expensive, and it would be best for you to go to a good professional stylist to get it done.

My hair dresser quoted my 500 for japanese hair straightening. Is this over priced?

OMG!!!! yes absolutely. what it would cost her for the stuff needed to do it would be around 50-100 dollars. it may very well be a good salon but paying 5x the amount what it costs the salon (which they probably get in quantities at a lower cost) is absolutely ridiculous. especially being that your hair is shorter. i could see if your hair was extremely thick and down to your butt-but its not. i would call other places and see what their prices are. ......i mean its not like your hair will be straight forever-eventually you will have to get it redone.-your roots need to get redone after awhile no matter what anyone tells you. you get about an inch or two and you have to get your roots done-otherwise you will look ridiculous. i have done this procedure before.

My hair dresser quoted my 500 for japanese hair straightening. Is this over priced?

it is over priced. I don't think it will last forever. that's a hurbilie

My hair dresser quoted my 500 for japanese hair straightening. Is this over priced?

50-100 dollars? PSYCHE.

Thats the range for a really good professional haircut with an experienced stylist.

And yes, it does last forever, most of these people shouldn't be answering questions they don't know about.

Your hair sounds short, but the starting place at most salons is about 475, so its not 'overpriced', just expensive.

My hair dresser quoted my 500 for japanese hair straightening. Is this over priced?

For straightening hair at home, you can use a hair iron and a straightening shampoo will also help. If you wish to straighten for a longer time, you can undergo Japanese hair straightening. I found this website useful - http://hcr.in/straighten.html

What is the best hair straightening/smoothing lotion?

Hi, I have hair dyed blonde that is quite wavy/curly, and at times, pretty dry on the ends. What is the best product out there that I can use for blow drying my hair straight? I'm looking for something to make it less poofy and frizzy, but something where I can still run my hands through my hair and have it fall naturally (not sticky, stiff, and yucky). Thanks!

What is the best hair straightening/smoothing lotion?

john frida hair serum its heat activated it will leave your hair so silky. its about $16 from coles or the chemist but it lasts for ages

What is the best hair straightening/smoothing lotion?

I use Suave sleek %26amp; smooth shampoo %26amp; conditioner. Then after I towel dry it I put on the sleek %26amp; smooth hair creme. I think it works really good for the price you pay. It's only like two bucks a bottle and it's exactly like the Matrix Sleek %26amp; Smooth products.

What is the best hair straightening/smoothing lotion?

get SUNSILK shampoo and conditioner it does work and it's safe 4 color treated hair

p.s there's a 24/7 cream 2 sunsilk straighten up TM

What is the difference between smoothening and straightening hair?

i want to smoothen my hair and not straighten.. can u pls tell me if smoothening result in damaging hair? or is it safe? pls suggest me ......

What is the difference between smoothening and straightening hair?

With smoothing, you can still have wavy or curly hair, it is just not as frizzy; whereas straightening not only calms frizz but makes the hair appear straight.

Any chemical or heat treating your hair is damaging. Basically anything you do to your hair is damaging. As long as you make sure you treat your hair with good moisturising products, I wouldn't worry.

Is Lisima Ionic (hair straightening tools) good?

intending to get the lissima ionic, saw it on the ad about how it can give you the straight smooth hair effect. don't know if its better than the conventional hair straigthening tools out there. Appreciate if those who are using it to comment.

Is Lisima Ionic (hair straightening tools) good?

I'm not familiar with that particular brand, but I have bought several different straighteners, ionic, ceramic, etc.. the best one is conair ceramic technology. Its black w. gold plates and a dial 1-25. You can buy it at target for about $17. I have very long, very curly hair and I can straighten it in about 30 minutes.

What are great hair straightening serums for african american hair?

also, what line of products are best for my hair besides the normal dark n lovely creme of nature stuff.

What are great hair straightening serums for african american hair?

I love the Olive Oil one by Organic Root Stimulator! I say the best line of hair care products for African Americans is Mizani! I love their shampoos, conditioners, and styling products! Their Fulfyl conditioner is the best conditioner I've ever used! Design Essentials has the best leave-in-conditioner ever in my opinion and their haircare products are pretty good too!

Thank you very much! Report It

What are great hair straightening serums for african american hair?

Pantene has a new line out for 'women of color'. Havent gotten a chance to try it yet but I heard its great and they sell it at Walmart. I say use plenty of oil sheen to make sure your hair is not dry first off and blow dry it on high going over your hair slowly.

Hair food works great for me and there are plenty of different types. The key to making your hair look beautiful and healthy is using a glosser, they run around 5 bucks. It straightens it a LOT quicker and easier and leaves it shining

What are great hair straightening serums for african american hair?

well i dont use black hair line stuff only when i go to the salon it weighs my hair down i use tresemme moisture rich set i love it and i use alot of garnier too and but i want to swhich over to redkens line of hair care products it's always good for your hair if it's salon brands or salon qutity ya know

Since both rebonding and hair straightening leads to straight hair whats the difference between them

and which is better...i've been wanting to get my hair straigthen for quiet sometime but im scared of the damage caused to the hair...so which of the 2 will stay longer n cause less damage...

Since both rebonding and hair straightening leads to straight hair whats the difference between them?

Rebonding is a process whereby the chemical bonds within the hair are broken and then repaired. If not performed correctly, yes, it will lead to damaged hair. However, there are a few systems available that are actually quite good for your hair. One is called Bio Ionic, and I can't remember the name of the other. They take a while to do (I would suggest not planning anything for the rest of the day) but they include a treatment at various stages, that helps improve the condition of the hair and minimises the damage done.

There are also other processes called relaxing processes, which don't last as long (basically it relaxes the curl in the hair, as opposed to removing it totally).

Either process is involved, and you should definitely have a consultation beforehand.

Of course, you could just buy some electric hair straighteners and do your hair each morning. However, of all the processes, this is the most likely to completely damage your hair. Hope this helps.

Since both rebonding and hair straightening leads to straight hair whats the difference between them?

both rebonding and straightening will damage your hair..

Since both rebonding and hair straightening leads to straight hair whats the difference between them?

The choice depends a lot on your hair.

Ethnic information is so important when it comes to hair. Are you Irish and have tight curls? Are you of Puerto Rican descent? Black? Something inbetween?

Some of those types won't respond much to either product while the products might work on another type.

It would be ideal for you to call around to some different salons and find out if they have someone specializing in relaxers and straighteners. Then ask for a free consult with that person. Most stylists are happy to take 15 minutes out of their day to help you decide what will work best, and you may find a person you feel comfortable with enough to have them do your hair.

Good luck!

Since both rebonding and hair straightening leads to straight hair whats the difference between them?

hair rebonding is a chemical process while hair straightening is applyinf direct heat to your hair....its like ironing the wrinkles (read curls, frizz etc) out of your clothes (hair). the rebonding is more like starching your hair....

i'll suggest you go with neither coz both are bad...

trust me i've tried both...

the one thing that got me out of that terrible tresses situation was bonacure trt....total rebel treatment .....n oil massages.....

but even if you go ahead for a few moments of bliss...now you know wat to use wen your dream is over n the real nightmare begins!!!

Good Luck!

I want help from someone who has lots of experience with different hair straighteners/straightening products.?

Ok Im a hair stylist , and could probably help if I knew exactly what your question was. Do you want to know what brand straightner to use? Do you want to know about chemical straightners or irons or what? Im not sure what you want.

I want help from someone who has lots of experience with different hair straighteners/straightening products.?

i use a revlon straightener with sunsilk straighten up shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in. The sunsilk is amazing, I even use it when I am not planning to straighten my hair just because it makes my hair feel soooo soft and smell really good. It is in a purple bottle, you should really try it.

Has any one tried Hair rebonding aka Japanese hair straightening?

I am guy with about 3 inches of hair length. I am sure about getting Hair rebonding done for my hair. My question is how long should my hair be for a proper treatment (so to speak). Also if any girls have got it done.how effective is it? any tips or suggestions welcomed.

Has any one tried Hair rebonding aka Japanese hair straightening?

I got it done and it was effective for 6 months. Keeps my hair really straight even in humid weather. Your hair can be any length, they charge you by length so you're lucky it's not as long as my hair.

What is the best hair straightening cream/balm?

I have extremely thick, wavy hair but also gets oily quickly so I need a cream/balm that wont add more oil or weigh my hair down. Also, I want it to be something that I put on my hair right when I get out of the shower. I have tried FrizzEase and found that it is too weighty...any other recommendations??

What is the best hair straightening cream/balm?

Sounds like my hair. I don't think any of them are very good but I sometimes use a L'oreal straightning cream, it's in a dark pink bottle with a pop up top and I buy it in Tescos. It is quite runny and it also takes out the knots out. When I use the straightners I spray each sections of hair with a little hair spray then when it's all done I spray hairspray on my fingers and run it through my hair like that rather than spraying it directly on hair and this calms it down also.

What is the best hair straightening cream/balm?

di fi

What is the best hair straightening cream/balm?

creams and balms arent very effective especially on thick hair, and it takes time because you need to keep your hair in place till it completely dries. (cnat put it behind ur ear- it will go wavy). Believe me I know from experience and my hair is thin! Its so much easier to uses straighteners! They are worth the mone- proffesional are best (you can change the temperature)

What is the best hair straightening cream/balm?

You can go to a hair salon and have a hair relaxing treatment. It last for a long time and your hair is gonna be straight and smooth, you don,t need to worry about every day.

What is the best hair straightening cream/balm?

Well I like to use professional products because they work the best I currently use: Matrix Sleek Look # 3 (styling cream) #4 (straight polish), or matrix's light wax, or Redken Smooth Down- protective smoother for unruly hair, with heat safe that tames even the most rebellious hairs! Good Luck and I hope you find a product that works for you!

Does the permanent hair straightening you get at a salon make it silky and managble like a hot iron?

My hair is real thick, curly and course so the flat iron makes it look like human hair. i just wanna know if the permanent chemical treatment works the same way

Does the permanent hair straightening you get at a salon make it silky and managble like a hot iron?

donttttttttttttt do it... it breaks your hairoff, and it's way to hard to manage it...trust me i did it, and regret it

Does the permanent hair straightening you get at a salon make it silky and managble like a hot iron?

No it makes it VERY dry and sort of frizzy. get a straightening spray to use with the flat iron.

Does the permanent hair straightening you get at a salon make it silky and managble like a hot iron?

It is terrible for your hair and makes it SUPER frizzy! it lasts 6-9 months and at the end it looks terrible and wavy! during the whole time it looks frizzy and dry. if you have really curly hair try a light blowdry and some texturizing cream or just but jell in your hair. you colud also try curling it or a cute up do...like a bun %26amp; ribbon.

What percent of humidity is good for straightening hair?

I straighten my hair often but living in Texas it often becomes problematic! What percent of humidity should I look for in the forecast before deciding to straighten?

What percent of humidity is good for straightening hair?

I also live in Texas and have very thick curly hair. The humidity in Texas will never go down (unless you live in maybe the panhandle). Do you use anything when you straighten it? Assuming you split your hair into sections to straighten it in small amounts, try spraying hair spray in each little section right before you iron it. I find this helps seal it a little with the humidity, but it isn't all stiff because you are ironing it after using hairspray and brushing through it. I also spray a light flexible hairspray all over my hair after straightening to help hold the straightness. Hope this helps!

What percent of humidity is good for straightening hair?

as little as possisble

What percent of humidity is good for straightening hair?

i live in DE and i used to live in japan and its very humid and i straigthen my hair all the time....sometimes the weather is not the best thing to rely on becasue the weahter can chnge wehn it wants just look for as little as possible and use frizz creams and\or straightener creams.

Is it safe to do hair straightening?

i have thick curly hair. my hair is dry and rough. i have lot of hair fall.

i can't keep my hair untied.

Is it safe to do hair straightening?

It is safe, but you should go to a professional hair stylist to do it. Also, don't wash your hair for a couple of days before you go in - otherwise, the chemicals will burn your scalp and make your hair fall out (I'm being serious).

Is it safe to do hair straightening?

it's safe, but if your hair is dry it will make it worse. try using moisturising products and oil before you straighten.

Is it safe to do hair straightening?

no! it is not safe to straighten ur hair!!!!!!!!!! cause ones u straighten ur it starts falling more!

Is it safe to do hair straightening?

It's okay, but u gotta use hair serum (to prevent split ends) and use conditioner often.....remember you must go to a great salon otherwise you'll just waste alot of moolah!

Is it safe to do hair straightening?

Same here ... watch out.. I went to a salon to have it colored and straightened twice and it started to break off.. still is breaking off, for that matter. I'll never do it again. (The stylist did use all good products, so it wasn't her fault)... but the straightening procedure is very harsh. Don't make the same mistake I made.. besides, curly is back in style anyway.

Is it safe to do hair straightening?

its yes safe but no safe lol , it not reli safe because it damages ur hair , eg- getting split end if u do it 2 mcuh but if u get ur hair cut reguarly u will b fine. Its not reli safe if ur clumsy either cos u can slip n get burn marks over ear or fce ( friends have them_ but its safe if ur not clumsy , u wash ur hair normally n u get it cut every 1-2 weeks

Is it safe to do hair straightening?

Well, Im not any hair expert.. not a girl.. but my sis did it.. U have to have strong hair bcuz they pull ur hair like crazy.. well, 50-120 hairs a day.. in hairfall terms is fine .. yes and split ends are a side effect.. my sis has a prob with them

Is it safe to do hair straightening?

Definitely

Is it safe to do hair straightening?

You may want to consider to thinning the volume first. Hair spa may help improve the texture as well. I don't recommed going straight to any chemical treatment or mechanical lengthening if your hairs are not healthy enough.

A question about hair straightening?

I've heard a lot about the chemical hair straighteners, similar to a perm only not curled on rollers. Do these work well for naturally curly/wavy hair?

A question about hair straightening?

It's good to straighten but it will damage and make your hair dry. Of course straightening irons can do the same thing. I would discuss my options with a good hairstylest because if your hair is perfectly healthy it may be a good option, but if it's dry and frizzy you'd be much better off not doing it.

A question about hair straightening?

I would try using shampoo with panthenol (Pantene). That helps calm curly hair. And, I would invest in a ceramic iron that will straighten a crooked politician.

A question about hair straightening?

it works good for some ppl.it works for me and it doesnt work for one of my friend.

A question about hair straightening?

Yes they do, but dont do it. I have naturaly curly hair and so did a friend of mine. And ever since we were kids we've always wanted straight hair, so my friend decided to get it thinking it would look great. MAn was she wrong. Her hair got straigh but it was really frizzy and damaged and it never was the same again. It's not that curly anymore its more wavy now but very frizzy than usual. Her hairstylist says that she will have to use alot of moisturing products and not color or put any chemicals in her hair for a few years to get it back the way it was.

A question about hair straightening?

its probably da same but u would save more money if u buy a flat iron because when ur hair grows da roots r going 2 b curly n u would have 2 do da perm again...but if u have a flat iron u could just flat iron it n u would b wasting money

A question about hair straightening?

Chemical Hair straighting is good for naturally curly/wavy hair. my hair is very curly and my hairstylist told me it would be a good alternative to straightening everyday

A question about hair straightening?

no it totally frys your hair.... it allso makes it fall out......but if you own a straitner use it it works.....

A question about hair straightening?

what nil8_360 said that works.

What are your thoughts on chemically/professionally straightening hair?

does it work well? also, how bad is it for our hair? can you just let it air dry and it wont be stick staight but it won't get all poofy and frizzy and everything? and is it still possible to scrunch your hair with gel so its curly while you have it straightened?

What are your thoughts on chemically/professionally straightening hair?

it works wonderful but it does damage you hair. had many pros and a few cons. no - you can not scrunch cause it will not be curly at all - however you CAN curl it with a curling iron and the curls will stay. i have found that i need to have this done like every 3 months because of re-growth. which means that my roots come in curly and frizzy which at the time makes me need to use my straightener which damages my hair more. but i cant afford to get it done every 3 months. i try to do 4 months.

What are your thoughts on chemically/professionally straightening hair?

my friend did it and her hair is fine. but u have 2 make shure that they get all of ur hair because i have another friend who had it done and their is a couple of pieces of her hair in the back and now she has to straighten it every day becuase they didnt do a couple of strands.

What products can i use after my hair straightening?

i had just got my hair rebonded, and cellophaned...

and i have read a lot of forums here that after a chemically treated hair, you need to use moisturizing hair products and stuffs that will protect your hair from the heat and stuffs that will make your hair shinier... and i live in the Philippines by the way.... thanks!

i need the products that will give my hair intense moisture, make my hair soft and make my hair shiny....

What products can i use after my hair straightening?

you know I always have my hair rebonded since 2nd year highschool. Im a college sophomore now and i really made it beutiful. dont be afraid to try something. Ive tried a lot of conditioners and shampoos. But right now i am using palmolive nd a rejoice conditioner. kung san lng mas sanay ang hair moh.. trial and error lng. and make sure to visit the salon atleast twice a month for a hot oil treatment.

TIP: Use shampoo every other day and not "everyday". Using shampoo everyday cam make your hair dry. But be sure to use conditioner everyday. Do not use a blower to dry your hair, use electricfan. Dry your hair everyday instead of just leaving it and letting it dry by itself.

Good luck!

What products can i use after my hair straightening?

There are so many products to use. I suggest bed head, its cheap, makes hair shiney and THE SHAMPOO ROCKS!

What products can i use after my hair straightening?

dun over: wash and blow dry your hair, try alternate days or once a day if you have to. always use conditioner and after that leave on moisturizer (those that don't need to be rinsed off), or serum that has UV protection of some sort. put on a cap/hat if you need to be in the sun for longer than 1 hour. reccomendations i personally used before: L'oreal hair serum, Bedhead leave on moisturizer (really nice smell), Pantene Conditioner, ellipse oil treatment.

worth a try: VO5 oil treatment

hope helpful

Chemical hair straightening...?

Is it ok to get it done if I have old highlights or will it ruin my hair?

Chemical hair straightening...?

it depends on your hair. i dont think the damage would be that bad on highlights though. my friend rebonded her bleached hair and it really turned porous. but nevertheless, chemical straightening would more of less damage your hair. the damage may not be that obvious to totally ruin your hair, but one thing i can be sure is that it would fade your highlights.

Chemical hair straightening...?

chemical hair straightning is horrible. my aunte has it and her hair is super ugly. So just stick to the iron.

Chemical hair straightening...?

I would not advise. Could cause breakage.

Chemical hair straightening...?

well i have met a lady that had it done and she had highlights and it was fine on her. it is costly and it does take a long time but the results are worth it

Chemical hair straightening...?

Dude, chemical straightening is horrible. I ran into this chick at the mall that had it done and it ruined the ends of her hair. They were all frizzy and sticking out. And you can just tell if someone has had their hair chemically straightened. It's not appealing.

Best hair straightening product?

*I'm looking for something that will protect my hair and make it smooth %26amp; soft, but not greasy or limp.

Best hair straightening product?

Kiehl's heat protective, straightening lotion is the best. I have tried every thing that you could imagine, but this is the best. If you want less expensive brands that do some what of a good job, try VO5, heat protecting spray, or Johnson's Detangling spray, Buddies. These make your hair very smooth while ironing with a ceramic iron like Chi.

I use Remington straightener wet to dry. I simply wash my hair and use it, water turns to vapour voila!! It's very easy to use and most important is that the straightner is ceramic thus it protects the hair. Then after using it I simply apply some hair gloss and it's like when I go to the hairdresser, I always get compliments about my hair!

Should i do hair straightening ?

i apply everything on my hair but it does not look as shiny as othor peoples hair shines what else is required that my hair will shine and look gud!

Should i do hair straightening ?

You could get a glaze put on your hair - either a clear one, or a tinted one. That will add a bit of shine to your hair. You can also use ionic styling tools like an ionic hair dryer and brush.

Should i do hair straightening ?

I dig chicks with straight hair...as long as it doesn't ruin your hair I say go for it.

Should i do hair straightening ?

I'm not really sure what you're asking, but..

To get extra shiny hair, rinse with cold water before getting out of the shower.

Good luck to you hun.

Should i do hair straightening ?

Supper Skinny by Paul Mitchell works really well. It is a kind of greasy product that goes on when hair is wet before you blow dry and straighten. It can make your hair oily though, so don't over do it and try to stay away from the roots. Concentrate on the ends of your hair. Also, always point blow dryer down your hair - never aim up. This can cause hair to look frizzy. You may also want to think about using a leave in conditioning cream before you style. Happy Styling!!!

Should i do hair straightening ?

In Hyderabad it costs Rs. 280/- ++ per sitting and lasts for a week with a condition of no washing of hair for that week. It does not worth the money spend. But if you have a lot of disposable money then go for it and enjoy.

Should i do hair straightening ?

Your hair will shine if it's healthy and not damaged. Be good to it, condition it every time you shampoo, and also use leave-in conditioners on it if it's damaged, use a hot-oil treatment maybe once a month. You'll notice a healthy shine in no time.

Should i do hair straightening ?

Eat a LOT of fruits and vegetables and drink lots of water. As your body flushes toxins more efficiently, your skin tone and hair luster will improve wonderfully.

Straightening your hair will dry it out more.

I use a creamy moisturiser that contains castor oil and vitamin D-5 to revitalise, protect and add sheen. I just checked the label and it also has beeswax.... ;-)

A combination of boosting internal nutrition absorbtion and cleansing with outer moisturising should do the trick!

Should i do hair straightening ?

Straighten your hair is really bad no matter how much products you put in your hair the heat still kills and frys your hair. Blow dry your hair straight. Put your head up side down and blow dry brushing your hair threw each time. For shine there is many products your can buy. Someone once told me to put olive oil ( or any cooking oil ) in your hair threw out your whole head. Then place a bag over your head and keep it on for as long as needed. You will know its working becuz it should get warm. Thats what the bag is for you could even use the hair dryer and put sum warm air in the bag before placing the bag over your head. Once this is done wash your hair dry and style. The oil Builds shine without leaving your hair greasy.

Should i do hair straightening ?

Ya, i do.. its great!

Should i do hair straightening ?

Twice a week, oil bath is good for the hair.

Also Tibetians have lustrous hair. may be due to genes.

Should i do hair straightening ?

Hi dear,

I think that you have damage the quality of your hair by applying different lotion. Now you have to take of it. I am giving some tips to have healty and shiny hair.

You should take a balanced diet. This will help you to gain the vitamin that has been destroyed.

One day before you take a bath, do an oil treatment. That is applied oil to your hair and dip your towel in warm water. Press to remove xcess water and then cover scalp with that towel. That is bundle your head for 15 mins. This will help the oil to enter the root of your hair.

Then wash your hair the following day that is doing shampoo and after shampoo. While washing your hair, do some massage of your head with the tip of your finger.

This should be done once in a week. Don't applied hair dryer to your hair.

Next treatment is applying an egg mixture.

Take one egg, add few drop of almond oil and Fresh crush henna leaves, mix to make a paste and then apply to your hair. Wash with a good shampoo and after shampoo.

To have shiny hair , applied the white egg to your hair. The egg make your hair healty. Try it. you will not regret.

Please stop applying all type of solution because you needs a good treatment.

Doing straightening will spoil your hair. this is because the solution that is applied is too strong and it damage the hair by making it too dry.

Never, ever applying chemical solution to your hair. Eat a lot of fruits and drinks a lot of water. I guarant you within 4 months, there will a drastic change in you.

Best of Luck!!!

Hope to get a positive response.

Hair Straightening

Battling with unruly wavy hair? Morning routines need to be pared way back and don't have 30 minutes to spend blow drying hair straight? Well, here got some solutions for you......

Regardless of the reason why you want to have your hair straightened, it is important that you start by understanding that you will be having strong chemicals applied to your hair and if not done right, permanent damage could be done.

We would highly recommend you go one-step further and have a professional do the straightening for you! Keep in mind that when hair has been chemically straightening, it typically requires special care to ensure the hair does not dry out.

When straighten the frizzy hair, most of the anti-frizz styling products out there work very well but not without the aid of good styling tools (meaning high heat) and the right brushes (soft but firm bristles). Yet even after all of that, if there is any humidity in the air, none of this will work to keep hair smooth.

Another option is to love the wave or curls you were born with, using the temporary straightening methods for an occasional different look.

Also, try following it up with "Dangerously Straight Pin-Straight" mousse, "Dangerously Straight" finishing spray while using a flat iron, and then use the "Dangerously Straight" hairspray to spray your hair...and voila! Once you've used all those products, your hair would be good and then you're ready to go!
