Well my hair dresser says that it doesn't work on black ethnic hair, but I was wondering if anyone out there with black, or mixed ethnic hair tried it? Did it work? What were the results?

Unfortunately, Yuko Systems, who created the Thermal Straightening (Thermal Restructuring, Thermal Reconditioning) processes has said that African-ethnic hair is not suited to the straightening methods in their system. You might be able to find someone who would do it, but I'd be worried about the damage it could do to your hair.

I don't think it would work on black ethnic hair, since it's a very different texture than other hair.

It won't have great results on your hair. Try using a relaxer (straight perm), but a really light formula. Also, get a consultation at a salon that caters to black women, so you can talk to someone who is experienced.
