Can you get Japanese Hair Straightening done if..?

you have chemically treated hair? My hair is highlighted, I have heard you must have virgin hair otherwise you're hair will become incredibly damaged if you get it done. Anyone the truths to this process?

Can you get Japanese Hair Straightening done if..?

NO!!!! Even if a stylist tells you it can be done!! I am certified w/ Bio Ionic Hair Straightening. Do not, under any circumstances do any type of chermical straightening on highlighted hair. Your hair will break off, it will become like a spongy brillow pad and no amount of conditioning will help you. I'm serious, don't even think about it!!!

Can you get Japanese Hair Straightening done if..?

Awesome!! It's better to go to a salon and have it blown out. This lasts for about a week. I've seen so many girls who have done this, and regretted it because of an inexperienced stylist. Love your curly hair!!! Good luck and thank you for taking my advice! Report It

Can you get Japanese Hair Straightening done if..?

i don't know what japanese hair straightening is, but my friend has dyed hair and staightens her hair on a daily bases, so....

Can you get Japanese Hair Straightening done if..?

When was the last time you had it colored?

I, personally, would wait at least two months to do the Japanese Straightening system. It's a really intense treatment.

You've got to be REALLY careful. Call the salon that you're thinking about getting it done at and talk to them about it. Consultations are free.

Good luck!!!!!

Chemical Hair Straightening Help?

ok. more advice please.

my hair is thick, and i use the straightener almost every day.

also. what if i dont get it done at a Japanese salon?

will the results be better or worse?

Chemical Hair Straightening Help?

Hello there!

I've done it several times with several different products. I've heard bad results from the Japanese techniques for straightening hair (Dry hair, split ends, no body).

The best results I've gotten where from a cream.

Before straightening it, I used to use the iron everyday...my hair was in good conditions but after the straightening my hair was shinnier, smoother and nicer. No more iron or dryer and it was still straight!!

I was so afraid I'd get split ends, but that didnt happen. It was expensive, about 300 dollars, and it lasted about 9 months (my hair grows really fast) if yours doesnt grow as fast as mine you could keep it for about a year or so.

The trick here is that you check with your stylist that he uses one that is like a cream.

I dont have the name of the product my stylist used but it had the followin steps:

1- Rinse hair apply special shampoo

2.-Apply cream, and comb it straight (20 mins)

3.-Rinse again, apply 2nd cream...wait

4.- Rinse and dry with a straightener and do not wash for 2 days.

Good luck with your hair!

Would this work? (hair straightening)?

I'm a dude with long hair (just below the shoulders), and I like to have it straight, but not completely flat. To do this, I blowdry my hair, but it very rarely turns out well. Would I be able to get straight hair by just airdrying it, and applying a straightener to it?

Would this work? (hair straightening)?

Another idea, (if you want quicker results) is to use a diffuser on your blowdryer. Try combing as you dry with the diffuser.

I use gel, and it works as well a straightener.

Good luck =)

Would this work? (hair straightening)?

Yes, letting ti air dry is the best way for your hair, and then applying a straightener will get you what your looking for in your hair.

Hope i Helped :)

Would this work? (hair straightening)?

apply a straightening balm to your hair and let it air dry. also, when you blowdry your hair make sure to point the nozzle straight down while pulling your hair taught with a brush.

Would this work? (hair straightening)?

If you mean straighteneing product - no. It will jsut make your hair look greasy. And if you mean actual straightener - blow dry it before straightening. And also, use a volume product (Sunsilk is good) and set the straightener at medium heat.

Would this work? (hair straightening)?

My hair is naturally wavy, and I love straight hair - but I refuse to burn it with an iron. So I use product..

Straight Sexy Hair is the name of the product.. It's a spray that you use after you shower on semi-wet hair. You comb your hair out after you spray it and let is air dry..

Super simple and it's great stuff.

Would this work? (hair straightening)?

yep and it is better for your hair not to blow dry it...and after you wash your hair rinse it in cool water...that leaves it shinier too...good luck

Would this work? (hair straightening)?

its better for your hair but if you just let it air dry it wont turn out stariat unless your hair is already natuarlly straight

maybe use like volume shampooo or something

Would this work? (hair straightening)?

no. Blow dry it, as you are doing this brush it straight, then if you want it shinny and straight healthy looking, use a flat iron on it.

Would this work? (hair straightening)?

ew cut your hair

you blowdry it?? thats so metero

Would this work? (hair straightening)?

i would cut ur hair and u wouldn't have a problem....

Would this work? (hair straightening)?

yeah , it will work

What are the best products for straightening hair?

My daughter has very wavy hair and she hates it. I've purchased shampoos and straighteners but it takes her over an hour to straighten her hair. She wears a ponytail almost everyday but now that she is in High School, I think she is getting a little self conscious. Any advice? What Products work best?

What are the best products for straightening hair?

i have really wavy hair and its extremely thick so i know how annoying it is to spend an hour to make your hair look good straight. i used to straighten it allll the time when i was a freshman and it really isn't good for your hair. just try and get your daughter to love her wavy hair. i hated it too and i would wear it curly one day and people would be like "whoa! i loooove your hair!" so now i straighten it about once a month and its so much easier to just leave it curly. but if i do straighten it i use redken smooth down shampoo/conditioner, paul mitchell super skinny serum, and eufora shine mist %26lt;--best stuff ever! to curl it, i use a diffuser on my blow dryer and herbal essences mousse.

What are the best products for straightening hair?

there is no best or not, sure there are better kinds than others but it all depends on the type of hair you have, and whether your hair is very frizzy or just a puff ball...

i use sunsilk straighten up shampoo and conditioner, and to top it off i use a revlon anti frizz spray and a small dab of straightening cream.. that keeps a sleek straight look all day! with no sticky ****... also helps improve shine and silk!

What are the best products for straightening hair?

CHI brands, they make your hair very strait and smooth. good luck =]

What are the best products for straightening hair?

http://joico.com/product/detail.php?CatI...

What are the best products for straightening hair?

aveda's hang straight creme is by far the best straightening product i have ever used. you run it through your hair and then blow dry it straight and it really lasts.

there is always a straight perm too...many salons do this, you just have to look around in your area. they're somewhat expensive though (about $300) and take about 4 hours to complete. they are SO worth it though. it lasts for like 4-6 months and you seriously just wash your hair and let it dry and it is stick straight.

What are the best products for straightening hair?

redken or bedhead.....go to your local salon.

Brazilian hair straightening?

I had it done in Boca Raton Florida in a Salon called "Rhapsody Salon %26amp; Spa". The women in there were very nice %26amp; knowledgeable. My before %26amp; after pics are incredible if I could only learn how to post them. It will last 3-4 months depending on your type of hair. Call them %26amp; ask for Nivia 561.852.5766

Brazilian hair straightening?

So what is your point? Are you getting a kickback from referrals?

Brazilian hair straightening?

I thought the distinctive thing about the Brazilian was the absence of hair?

If thats the case then YES I'd love to see the pics!!! :)

Brazilian hair straightening?

Is this a commercial? I really don't need this thank u!

Brazilian hair straightening?

Just be careful, it supposedly has formaldehyde in it, which is not illegal in cosmetic use here in the US, but can possibly make you sick. But I have seen some before and after shots, the stuff works good.

Brazilian hair straightening?

Just wanted to let you know that there is a newer version of Brazilian hair straightening where the hair can be washed immediately after treatment.

With the older version, you can't touch your hair for three days, let alone wash it. You can閳ユ獩 even put it behind your ear (ponytail=death). You also have to live with a foul smelling chemical in your hair for three days.

This new treatment is available in New York City at Shampoo Avenue B. It's a very cool salon in the lower east side of Manhattan. And the owner was trained (in Brazil) by the inventor of this product- so they know what they're doing.

Is there any hair straightening method which can keep my hair straight for 2-3yrs?

Every 6 months is about as good as it gets even in the professional world!!

Is there any hair straightening method which can keep my hair straight for 2-3yrs?

Sorry, around 6 mos is probably the longest you'll get.

Is there any hair straightening method which can keep my hair straight for 2-3yrs?

yes it is possible. Before going to bed add oil in ur hair then bring a cotten cloth and bind it by keeping ur hair straight.Do it for a week atleast.

Is there any hair straightening method which can keep my hair straight for 2-3yrs?

No, but trust me, when you get a little older you'll be glad that you have wavy hair. It gives you so many more options, and you can always keep straightening it every 6 months if that's what you really want.

Is there any hair straightening method which can keep my hair straight for 2-3yrs?

I believe you can get it chemically straightened, but I'm not sure how long it will stay, sorry.

Is there any hair straightening method which can keep my hair straight for 2-3yrs?

no sorry

Is there any hair straightening method which can keep my hair straight for 2-3yrs?

Its very easy take a hair dryer littlebit vet yor hair. Remove nots first then take a curler brush( comb which has teeth all the sides) divide your hair like four or five portion then comb your hair top to end with one hand and show your hair dryer along with that repet for two or three times then your hair become straight until you wash your hair. No side effect but don't use all the day just 2-3 times in a week.

Guys hair straightening?

my hair is about ___________ that long. when i wash it and dry it with a towel, it goes all fuzzy almost like an afro and it expands. nothing can make it straight. gel and wax make it look silly. a hairdryer helps slightly. any ideas? i want it perfectly straight and not fuzzy

Guys hair straightening?

First off wash and condition with products designed to smooth the hair. Then when towel drying the hair, pat it instead of rubbing the towel over it as this will rough up the hair and lead to frizzing. Then you could try a product like Paul Mitchel's "skinny" serum. Its helps to smooth the hair follicle. Then once dry, use a ceramic straightening iron to get it perfectly straight and smooth... hope this helps.

They now make straighteners that are only 1/2 in thick, so they work on hair thats quite short.

Guys hair straightening?

perm or get is flat ironed/pressed

Guys hair straightening?

Straiten it with a straitener, duh!

Hair rebonding and hair straightening.....are they a different name for a same thing?

I have straight but damaged and unmanagable hair....can I go for rebonding?

Hair rebonding and hair straightening.....are they a different name for a same thing?

Hair rebonding usually last for about 4 to 5 months while hair straightening last for only about a month or two. Hair straightening is usually given to people with curly or wavy hair, while rebonding can be given to all types of hair, but be warned because rebonding can give you a polished but flat look.

What products do you use on dry hair for ultimate straightness with straightening iron?

alot of products say to apply on damp hair, but i don't wash my hair in the morning when i straighten my hair. do you know a product that can straighten hair like this? http://www.brendasongsite.com/images/bs1... . it's ultra straight.

What products do you use on dry hair for ultimate straightness with straightening iron?

I use Catwalk Fashionista smooth %26amp; shine. It is a heat protector and also controls frizz. It can be applied on damp or dry hair. After I apply it to my hair, then comb it in, I use a ceramic iron. Take your hair in small sections (about 1 inch) and straighten each section. If you have alot of hair ( and thick), it is going to take a while. After I finish straightening all my hair, I apply citre shine, or S factor smoothing lusterizer to the ends.

Which Chi Hair straightening iron is best for African-american hair ?

I heard Chi is freakin amazing, but does it work for African-american hair as well? and Which one is the best to get for it ?

Which Chi Hair straightening iron is best for African-american hair ?

The CHIs are great but I suggest you go to Folica.com and check out the Sedu or the Solia.

I have the Solia. It costs less and was way more effective than my CHI. Granted I had the original CHI, w/o the temperature dial, but still.

Don't forget to get a heat protectant. The CHI silk infusim (i think that's the name) is the absolute best!!!

Which Chi Hair straightening iron is best for African-american hair ?

Both my cousins rave about this product as well. One has relaxed hair, and the other is natural with an afro.

You would never know that the one with the afro is natural because once she runs that chi through her hair, she looks like she has a relaxer.

If I'm not mistaken, I think one of them has the pink (?) one. But the other has all kinds. They swear by it.

Which Chi Hair straightening iron is best for African-american hair ?

the original black chi is the best by far and it also comes in pink now to support breast cancer

Which Chi Hair straightening iron is best for African-american hair ?

If you have very coarse, thick hair get it relaxed / chemically treated. I am a mix, so I have a combination but my hair is naturally pretty wild, and honestly the chemical treatments are so much more worth it than the flat irons.

The CHI works great, but I had to replace one of mine after awhile. So with the amount of money you save replacing $150-200 flat irons, and the amount of money you save on hair products constantly, and the amount of TIME you save sitting there straightening (not to mention the blow drying that occurs before that) is SO WORTH IT to get it chemically treated. I highly recommend it!

Which Chi Hair straightening iron is best for African-american hair ?

theyre all suitable.

the turbo is meant more for styling as well, and is a bit more expensive. its meant to wave, twist, etc. the regular one is meant for straightening.

i have the regular one. im not african-american but im italain and native american, so my hair is very thick, curly stubborn and coarse! you'd never guess it though because the chi keeps me straight, shiny and smooth.

word of advice though, the chi's arent meant to be used for everyday "touchups" and it can damage your hair that way. try to get it real straight the first time and leave it for a few days before washing. That's what I do.

Would "Japanese hair straightening" damage my hair?

I'm curious and interested in doing that. I know it's expensive etc. Actually just wanted to ask if it would be a bad idea for my dry hair.

Thanks for sharing.

Would "Japanese hair straightening" damage my hair?

it really isnt supposed to, but it all depends on the condition of you hair in the beginning....I dont know if i would really trust that technique to anyone other then the people trained to do that technique. Relaxers can be pretty scary, so just be careful and if you deside to do it, make sure your hair is in EXCELLENT condition, no color, perms, or any other chemicals on it...you would want to start out with virgin hair....

Would "Japanese hair straightening" damage my hair?

yea it damaged my friends hair pretty bad. now its all thin and disgusting.

Would "Japanese hair straightening" damage my hair?

It is a really intense process. Remember that nearly anything we do to our hair can damage it to a degree - even brushing, if you brush too hard. Just make sure you find someone who is qualified. This FAQ page might help.

Would "Japanese hair straightening" damage my hair?

if you mean YOKO .. it's a great way to straight you're hair . I tried it my self . but be sure you do it in a good place that uses the real thing and in the hand of a certified person . there are specialized people in this one .

it didn't damage my hair . but some people I know who didn't follow what I tolled you had a baaaaaad damage to their hair .

I need hair straightening advise?

i have horribly wavy hair when i dont straiten it help! i dont have time every morning and i to blow dry my hair just 2 staiten it HELP! please.

I need hair straightening advise?

wavy hair is awesome! but if you want to straightener your hair nice and quick, they sell straighteners now where you can straighten with your hair wet, and it works better,

http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=...

this is the one I use :)

I need hair straightening advise?

Chi flat irons are great.

I need hair straightening advise?

get the straighening sunsilk shampoo. it comes in a purple bottle and it really works! or just get a really fancy straightener.

I need hair straightening advise?

Get it done professionally. It will make your hair really straight and it will last. You won't have to worry about it on a daily basis.

I need hair straightening advise?

get a flat iron. theres one by conair they sell at walmart. believe me, i have the thickest, curliest hair you can imagine and its very long too and it straightens my hair really well. it's around 25-30 bucks. good luck!

I need hair straightening advise?

Hey u can add me if u want and i can help u neen_333@yahoo.com

I need hair straightening advise?

I have the Problem so I just crimp it

I need hair straightening advise?

wavy hair isnt the worst, but i have to say-i like strait hair better. try using a straightener or be creative and style your wavy hair! hats look cute with wavy hair! or put it in a bun and it wont matter if u have strait or wavy hair!

I need hair straightening advise?

U can get ur hair chemically strightened, or get a Chi. they work great! hope this helps

~pink_cowgirl~

I need hair straightening advise?

maybe you can try straightening it before you go to sleep and it might work thats what my friend does

also wear something that will keep it down like gell

but thanx for the points

I need hair straightening advise?

Don't feel bad! I have curly hair, and when I don't take a shower, or straighten it, it looks terrible! I often wear it up in a pony tail, or sometimes in braids, that way it doesn't look as bad! Maybe if you straighten your hair the night before, it will stay straighter the next morning? That's what I sometimes do!

I need hair straightening advise?

My neice has the same thing.... I actually had it professionally straightened - and 2 weeks later she was back to waves %26amp; curls again. I told her, if your hair is that wavy - make it work for you - wear it curley. You can get anti frizz stuff and serums that it keep it from going wild - but it so easy... wash - and put on a 'curl definer' type of thing and GO.... it will dry beautifully if you DON'T blow dry it.... just let it dry.....

I need hair straightening advise?

Just cut it all off.

I need hair straightening advise?

go to a pro and get your hair "relaxed" which is when it is basically straight for like....6 months.

I need hair straightening advise?

By "horribly wavy", I'm guessing you mean ... almost curly?

What's wrong with wavy/curly hair? (I think it's pretty.)

If it's frizz you're worried about, you could always leave your hair wet. Just don't forget to use gel, or hairspray, or hair serum, or something.

(Or you could tie your hair up.)

But if you really hate wavy hair, here's a suggestion:

Take a shower, and maybe do your hair also, before going to bed!

You could always go to a salon and get your hair permanently straightened, but that can be expensive.

And when your hair grows, the newer part will still be wavy.

I need hair straightening advise?

if you have a wavy hair live it like that i think is preety cool.

I need hair straightening advise?

Get a Remmington wet2straight flat iron so you can straighten right out of the shower w/out having to blowdry first. Minimize heat damage by spritzing on some Herbal Essences dangerously straight flat out finishing spray afterwards- just enough to make your hair shine. It works well.

I need hair straightening advise?

dry a leave in conditionar and the wash is out. blow dry and wala some what straight

I need hair straightening advise?

use a straightner

i recently found a 2" one 4 $18 @ target that works really well

%26amp; i have really thick hair %26amp; it's sort a wavy

Any good hair straightening and curling techniques?

Whenever we are going out (and in my country, we get invited to lots of parties almost every night) and I always mess up my hair with the curling iron or burn my scalp/forehead with it and same goes to the flat iron, any tips and techniques to get me to do it the right way?

I have waist-long wavy hair with broken or as you call then split -ends .

thanks in advance :)

Any good hair straightening and curling techniques?

Get out of the shower, and put some sort of blowdrying/straightening stuff in your hair. Then blow dry before it dries itself. Brush as you blowdry, and for the last 10 mins or so blow dry your hair upside down. This should get most of the curl out. Then use your straightener for the pieces that need a little extra love. It is essential that you get your hair ALL THE WAY dry with the blowdryer. This keeps it from waving up as it finishes drying!

also.... get the bottom 2 inches or so cut off your hair. Getting rid of the split ends will make your hair much more manageable....... AND.... it doesn't actually make your hair grow faster... but it keeps it from breaking higher and higher up and will seem to you that it is growing faster.

Any good hair straightening and curling techniques?

what country are you from? i want a party every night!

anyway, try scrunching your hair- it will look cute and its nondamaging!

Any good hair straightening and curling techniques?

well if you're willing to spare a few bucks you can find the maxiglide on the internet or in a bath and body store. it was made for easy fast straightening and large curl curling without burning your scalp or damaging your hair

Any good hair straightening and curling techniques?

gently iron your hair (well have a friend) between

two damp towels when you're going out the door.

Any good hair straightening and curling techniques?

Hair straightening just use a little hairspray on dry hair and a CHI!!!!! omg i have such unmanageable hair and i promise it is the best for straightening. For curls i just use mouse when i get out of the shower and scrunch.

Any good hair straightening and curling techniques?

I always do this aned for some reason it works. I have a little less than waist length hair too. If you have really good coordination, you should get a comb and put it in front of your straightener. It gets it extremely straight and soft. Make sure you put it in front, otherwise you can burn your comb.

If you must straighten your hair daily, make sure you protect your hair. :]

Any good hair straightening and curling techniques?

What I do is buy some straightening cream (I use sun silk) so after a shower put it on a comb and spread it all over and comb threw your hair and then blowdry your hair with a round brush and you hair will be straight. and then for curly/wavy hair after you get out of the shower brush your hair and then get the hair drier and scrunch your hair into little balls in your hands and blow dry them untill your hair is dry (put you head upside down too!)

Any good hair straightening and curling techniques?

A good cruling technique is scruncing! If your hair has a slight natural bend, wave or natural curl, follow these steps.

Shampoo and condition with products formulated to improve your hair's texture and flexibility.

Towel dry your hair so that it is damp, not dripping.

Apply a firm hold styling aid from the root area to the ends. Hair Gel or Glaze is usually better for heavy hair and Styling Foam or Mousse usually works for fine hair. You may have to experiment to see which works for you.

To dry your hair, you will either use a diffuser or let it dry naturally. Either way, you must be patient to not rush the drying process.

Any good hair straightening and curling techniques?

a dab of olive oil before straightening,,,works wonders, your hair looks so healthy and shiny afterwards!

A good hair straightening product AND curling product for thick, wavy hair?

My hair is thick and wavy.

I usually wear it curly becase its easier. I want to know a good product to put in it to help it be straight when I want it straight and then also a product that works well to make the curls nice when I want to wear it curly.

thanks

A good hair straightening product AND curling product for thick, wavy hair?

my hair is like that, too. what i use to straigthen it is a 3 inch ceramic straghtener from Remington. it is called a Wet2Straight so you can straighten your hair after your shower. to wear my hear curly, i use Aussie mousse and put some hairspray on it every so often as it dries.

A good hair straightening product AND curling product for thick, wavy hair?

wow. Your hair is just like mine.

I use frizz-ease straight answer. You just wash your hair...and then u spray it in as you blow dry it...It gets it pretty straight. Although u will have to do a little bit of straightening with a straightener.

For curls u can use a curling shampoo or curling gel. When I want my hair curly i just put curlers in before bed and they turn out nice.

Try Sally's Beauty Supply. They sell Chi products since they sell salon quality materials.

Does this hair straightening product work??

does anybody know if Beyond The Zone Bored Straight Hair Straightener will actually work on my thick frizzy biracial hair?

Does this hair straightening product work??

Yes if you follow up with blow drying and a straightening iron. The product is meant to help the hair keep the style and keep from being damaged during the straightening process not straighten it on its own.

Does this hair straightening product work??

not the ones i've used

Does this hair straightening product work??

i guess it depends on your hair type

Does this hair straightening product work??

thats the problem these days it says it but wil it work?

Does this hair straightening product work??

Iv had my hair permanently straightened in a salon and I luvd the results, but it is damaging and a bit drying. I wouldnt have it done if your hair has been blonded, it will just frizz even more. Go to a good salon and ask them what they think.

Does this hair straightening product work??

Nup. Get the Paul Brown Hawaii Straightened it's $300 aus dollars but so worth it, it has smoothing technology in it and is gemstone infused which helps lock in moisture and add shine. also go to the hair dressers and gett a cut, tell them you want it thinned.

Question about hair straightening with a flat iron?

I just bought a flat iron. I have very thick, wavy hair. I want it as straight as I can get it without scorching it to death. What are some products that I can use to protect my hair before I use the flat iron?? Thanks in advance.

Question about hair straightening with a flat iron?

i have the same kind of hair. it's thick wavy and i have a lot of it haha. so it takes a while to get through all of it.

i read in magazines that you should always put a product in your hair before straightening it because then it doesn't get dried out, and it prevents from split ends.

i use thermasilk leave in conditioner everyday, even when i'm not straightening it. it's just a liquid spray, and it feels like water, so it's not greasy or anything. it just helps keep your hair conditioned. any brand you like that has leave in conditioner will probably be okay.

i just spray it all over and let my hair dry. then i straighten it and add a little bit of hair balm to it. i use a straightening balm from brilliant brunette, but you can use anything. the reason for using this is to help keep your hair from being dehydrated, and it also prevents fly aways.

hope this helps!

Question about hair straightening with a flat iron?

ummm there is this cream that u can buy that works really well

Question about hair straightening with a flat iron?

Check out Aussie and Thermasilk products. They have spray in leave in conditioner / heat protectants, and straightening / heat protecting creams. They work great. :)

Question about hair straightening with a flat iron?

yes, try those products they really work!

Question about hair straightening with a flat iron?

Use ''bone strait" by TCB. It is a conditioner and blow dry lotion, which allows hair to dry straighter. It can be purchased almost anywhere that sells hair products.

"Pink Glosser" will also soften and shine hair. Follow the directions on both. They are for all types of hair.

Question about hair straightening with a flat iron?

biologe heat protector and silk infusion work great

Question about hair straightening with a flat iron?

I use VO5 Miracle Mist. I blow dry my hair and then i spray this stuff and comb it through and then run the flat iron through sections of my hair at a time.

Question about hair straightening with a flat iron?

I would definitely go with the Thermasilk products. They work with the heat to help actually make your hair more healthy. Also make sure the iron you bought is a ceramic iron. They work better and don't have to be left on the hair as long to straighten out your hair. You should have a good iron especially if your hair is thick and really wavy...

Make sure you keep your hair well conditioned. I like the Garnier Fructris products. They have good products for hair that is frizzy or damaged.

Question about hair straightening with a flat iron?

If you have really curly hair first blow dry with a smoothing balm mixed with silk therapy drops and either a flat paddle brush or a large round brush. Then when you get ready to flat iron it make small section staring at the bottom and mist some flat iron spray and comb through. continue through all the section until done. Another little bit of advice would be to make sure you use a really good flatiron instead of a cheapy.

Question about hair straightening with a flat iron?

As a professional, you really have to look at what you use to wash your hair. If your shampoo and conditioner is not salon quality, especially with your texture of hair then it will be hard to get the style you desire.

I recommend super skinny shampoo and conditioner. It has a great fragrance (apple/fruity), shrinks the diameter of your hair shaft and helps dry it faster by forcing out excess moisture. I would then use a combination of super skinny serum and straight works-this will help dry your hair faster. If you are just flat ironing though I would just use the combo of the two. All of which can be found at a salon that carries Paul Mitchell products. Any products purchased at a drugstore or grocery store are counterfeit.

It also helps too if you invested some money in a good quality flat iron such as a chi, crickett, or paul mitchell. Hope that helps!

Question about hair straightening with a flat iron?

I would recomend a product is by sexy hair concepts. is calles soyawantflat hair. It is great it is about 13.00 or more if you are wanting something that is a little cheaper then I would recomend heat seal by paul mitchel it is about 10-12 dollars. Both work great!!! Good luck!!!!!!!

Question about hair straightening with a flat iron?

well if your African- American you could use Frizz ease by John Freida about a quarter to a silver dollar size in the palm of your hand applied to freshly washed and conditioned wet hair, then apply Luster's Pink oil lotion same amount to your hair then blow dry using a blow dryer with a comb attachment (small tooth comb works best) when hair is completely dry brush hair straight down then use flat iron. by using the blow dryer to do most of the straightening you only need to make quick passes with the flat iron and won't scorch your hair.

good luck.

What is the best hair products for straightening hair??

Hair straightening help needed!!!?

okay so...i got a new hair straightener...works amazingly well... but i have trouble with the back of my head...can anyone give me ideas as to how i can make it super straight...cuz its usually left with alot of volume just in the back....thanks

Hair straightening help needed!!!?

i consider myself to be the hair straightening expert. I dont even use a mirror anymore. I use ghds and i think that they are the best brand.

Firstly section your hair. Use hair sectioners or just use a band and tie your hair at the top of your head, and just let it out section by section.

Use a comb- makesure its not a wide toothed one. Run it along your hair whilst you straighten, not after you put the straighteners on your hair as this will make your hair static. Comb through your hair, and for every swipe you take, run your hair straighteners down your hair simultaneously. This way you'll have the smoothest, straightest hair.

Then bring down another section and do the same. As you're doing this with the next section the lower section will also be making contact with your straightener again, ensuring that its perfectly straight.

Sorry, i didnt word it very well, but i hop eyou know what i mean.

Hair straightening help needed!!!?

best hair straightner is the maxi glide!!! works best with all types of hair. leaves it soft and healthy looking

Hair straightening help needed!!!?

It looks alot better if you have a friend help you with straightening the back. As for the wet2dry thing I'm pretty sure you can use it on dry hair but if you still have the instruction booklet i would highly recommend reading that,

Hair straightening help needed!!!?

i have sratight hair so i don't use a straightener but if i were you i would get my mom or sibling to help.

Hair straightening help needed!!!?

I HAD that same problem but I have a vanity and a closet door with a mirror on it and i put them by each other so that I could see the back of my head. It works really well.

Hair straightening help needed!!!?

i dont recommend the wet2dry straightener. it tends to make your hair thin and very lack-luster. to get the back of your hair straight, try puting a large section of hair in a pony tail. that way, you can focus on a smaller portion of hair and you can get it really straight that way. hope i helped

Hair straightening help needed!!!?

I use a CHI straightener they are the best, I put hair up half way and straighten it by sections then when you are done do the back in sections start from the top of your head and then as you go just flip the section that you straightened in front of your face and work your way half way down as far as your arms let you and repeat this. Hope it works for you it works for me

Hair straightening help needed!!!?

My best friend is a pro hairdresser. What really helps with hair straightening (and also protects your hair) is heat protectant spray........ it helps majorly!!!!! OK, to help with your problem........ if you are really devoted to your hair, buy the best hair straightener you can. CHI is the bomb! it may take a bite out of your wallet but its worth it. CHI straighteners get hotter as you squeeze it harder so be sure to use CHI protectant spray. You can get the products on line or at your hairdressers salon. To straighten the back of your hair, either sit in a chair with a mirror in front of you and look behind you into another mirror or pull your hair around your shoulder and straighten your hair. My last suggestion is that you get a haircut which lowers the volume in the back of your head. Actually, if it is pulling out your hair, your hair is very unhealthy and you need to see your hairdresser. This may sound a little gross........... But when it is straight and stiff then that means you are burning your hair........ YOU NEED HAIR PROTECTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no problem!

Hair straightening help needed!!!?

Straighten your hair in sections. First get all of you hair except the bottom layer %26amp; put it on top of your head %26amp; secure it with a clip. Then after that let that all fall down %26amp; get another layer about 1-2 inches thick. After you are done get another mirror %26amp; look at the back of your head %26amp; see if you missed any hair. I can do mine in about 4 layers %26amp; its done in about 20 min %26amp; My hair is super straight! I hope that this helps! Good Luck:)

Does Anyone have tips on straightening hair?

I need help... i need tips on how to make the hair look straighter and how to do it faster cuz i straighten my hair everyday and it dosent really come good!

Does Anyone have tips on straightening hair?

dun tie up your hair.. sometime give some treatment to stay stright

Does Anyone have tips on straightening hair?

While your hair is wet, use some sort of product like the purple sunsilk to flatten your hair down. Then blow dry it.

Also, purchase one of those straightening brushes from Boots or something... it sort of clamps your hair and makes it look EXTRA straight!

Does Anyone have tips on straightening hair?

The most important thing is to make sure you are spraying your hair with a heat protector - if you don't, not only will it not straighten properly but you will damage it every time.

I use V05 Tame and Shine which works really well.

Separate your hair into sections - don't try to rush it or straighten too much at once, it won't work.

I also used a v05 hot oil treatment on mine before shampooing, and it made it straighten really well.

Hope this helps!

Does Anyone have tips on straightening hair?

wash it the day before you need to straighten it!!, smaller sections, use clips to get it out the way!!! use 2 mirrors one at the front one at the back!! and plenty of serum after you have straitened it!!

Does Anyone have tips on straightening hair?

my advice to u would be use ghd straighteners as they are the best they are pricey but so worth it if u use them everyday.also if u have thick hair like i do its best to section the hair first around the crown and straighten underneath first! then the top also when u straighten a piece of your hair do it slow first time as it saves you going over it again, but with ghd's u shouldn't need to keep going over the hair Gd luck.

Does Anyone have tips on straightening hair?

Just go in and have it done it is just like a perm but without curls. The cost varies by hair length. Or you can do what I did. I bought a home straightner from walmart and did it at home worked great. Then I didnt have to dry and use a straightner every time I wanted straight hair.

Does Anyone have tips on straightening hair?

Here a lot of questions and answers on hair straightening. Some might be helpful for you: http://www.hairfinder.com/hairquestions/...

Does Anyone have tips on straightening hair?

Well you could try the Boots Hair Straighten kit

http://www.boots.com/shop/category_new_t...

I haven't tried it yet though so don't know the final result of it. But this way you don't always have to use the straighter everyday.

Does Anyone have tips on straightening hair?

There are many ways to straiten your hair. One way is to us a steam hair straightener which is better for your hair but takes longer and another way is to use a really hot straightener. For both ways you need to make sure that your hair isn't wet and that you have product in it. But if you really want your hair done fast you can blow dry it strait by taking a brush and brushing your hair slowly as your brushing your hair slowly put the blow dryer on the other side of the hair.

Does Anyone have tips on straightening hair?

You can always perm it..I use olive oil perm which leaves my hair straight and silky. With a perm you must treat your hair so that it doesnt break. The results are sooo refreshing because then you can manage it better and all styles hold..

Does Anyone have tips on straightening hair?

Um... don't do it? Seriously, chemical relaxers will murder your hair, and anyone who tells you different hasn't learned much about them. Also, heat-based straighteners can actually bring the moisture in your hair to a boil - imagine the damage! No, I'm not trying to scare you, just to inform you. You should be educated about everything you do that affects your body, including your hair.

Your best bet, honestly is to just take your time using the method you're using. Make 2 parts in your hair - down the middle front to back, and across the center, ear to ear. Then part each section into smaller parts, and straighten them bit by bit. It takes a bit longer, but the results will be astoundingly better.

If you decide to use a chemical relaxer, read the article linked below first, so you'll know what to expect, and what to watch out for.

Does Anyone have tips on straightening hair?

I wouldn't straighten it at all. I just dont understand all of u, it just damages and breaks ur hair.

I don't even think it looks good, it just looks like thin hair like young kids have.

Does Anyone have tips on straightening hair?

make sure ur use an appropriate product before hand and u must make sure ur hairs dry section ur hair first, but if u want a good job there is no quick way.The higher the straightners ie 230 temperature the betta the results.

Hair straightening ceramic plates?

i got a straightener saying it is 100% ceramic plates. does this mean the damage to hair is reduced?

Hair straightening ceramic plates?

Ceramic is healther but can still do damage. Ceramic plates help seal the cuticle and brings out shine with a steady even temp. But you can still cause damage by everyday styling and turning up too high heat. Try to use a protectant if your worried.

Hair straightening ceramic plates?

Not necessarily, but your hair straightener will retain more heat.

Hair straightening ceramic plates?

If you use a silicone based serum with it, it will help protect your hair a lot! Try Biosilk, it's amazing.

Hair straightening help?

I'm a guy so I don't really know what to do, anything is appreciated. I have medium length hair that is pretty wavy and when I dry (air or I have tried blow drying) it poofs up a ton. My question is what can I use to make it straight and not puff up, I want it to lay flat.

Hair straightening help?

garnier fructis sleek and straight serum

and a round brush and blow dryer.

take a little serum and run it through wet hair blow dry hair until still a little moist.

take a large round brush and blow out in sections, using the round brush to pull straight and polish.

this is difficult for a guy but you could consult a salon or a girl friend for some tips. it's not difficult just hard to explain.

Good luck.

Hair straightening help?

Aveda Hang Straight shampoo and conditioner and Smooth Fluid Serum.

Hair straightening help?

okay so you should blow dry it straight and then when it get all poofy put some product in it...and then put a beany on and it will flatten out your hair... haha thats what my brother use to do when he had long wavy hair.

or you could always buy a straightner that always works.

Hair straightening help?

Buy a straightening iron. Blow drying is harder for me, so i just straighten mii hair with a straightening iron. (but don't do it all the time, straightening ur hair 2 much can damage it)

This is the straightener i have (read the article about it) : http://www.shesaid.com.au/article/2004/0...

Hair straightening help?

i normally dont blow dry my hair so it stays down flat.

blow drying your hair makes a big difference on volume.

conditioner helps and look at shampoo's that help you have anti-frizz or anti-poof.

Hair straightening help?

I invested in a CHI. its been the best thing ever! I had mine now for 11 months and it gives me smooth silky hair everytime. its fast to do it too with me having hair down to the middle of my back. i use super skinny by paul mitchell after im done. ****when you straighten divide your hair in sections and then comb your hair while your doing it. makes a difference. GOOD LUCK =)

Hair straightening help?

Straighten it to whatever way you want it to go.

For the first few times, have someone help you with the back.

Hair straightening help?

Sunsilk's Straighten-Up shampoo and condition work REALLY well! I have frizzy, poofy hair and that helps manage it. I use L'oreal Hot!Straight creme when my hair is damp and that helps straighten it too. When you dry your hair make sure that the air is blowing downwards so that your hair won't frizz. One of my guy friends sleep with a toque/hat on so that it will be flat in the morning.

Good luck!! Hope this helped.

Hair straightening advice?

I have pretty thick hair, and it's straight for the most part, but my ends flip out and go all over the place. It takes me about and hour to get them even close to straight, and even then they just flip out again five minutes later. Any advice?

Hair straightening advice?

blow dry straight first and the use a light straightening serum and use a ceramic flat iron and iron lil pieces at a time. it'll take a while if ur doing it yourself.

Hair straightening advice?

It depends on if you like it and if you use a straighting iron are not cuz if you do then thats bad but if you want your hair to be straight then imight sugjest to get a perm???

Hair straightening advice?

Well it depends on what kind of hair straightener you have , have a really shitty one , but my friends all have really really good ones.

my advice buy another hair straightener.

Hair straightening advice?

Use a ceramic straightener and the hair serum that has heat procter in it i believe john freeda make some or who ever you like to use

Hair straightening advice?

Hair straightening advice?

I have the exact same problem, and for me its just because of my hair straightner, its a cheap one so it does a really bad job, my suggestion is sstart saving up and by a new one

Hair straightening advice?

Hair straightening advice?

well wut hairstraightner do u use

Do those hair straightening things you see at like cvs really work in straightening or do they damag

id like my hair to be straighter. does this damage it? does it actially work? does it wash out or last a while? any info you have on these! thanks!

Do those hair straightening things you see at like cvs really work in straightening or do they damage?

If i'm thinking about the same thing you are no. Are you talking about products- Cremes, Sprays, syrums- like Lorealm Tresemme, Aussie, ect?

The only thing that will make your hair permenently straight is a chemical straightener. I don't know if you can buy them in the stores.

Do those hair straightening things you see at like cvs really work in straightening or do they damage?

They do straighten your hair but as soon as you wash it, it goes back to it's natural state. Anything that you do with your hair with heat damages it. Oh, I just saw what you added. A product that straightens? I have no clue.

Hair straightening question!???!?

OK WELL I HAVE REALLY CURLY HAIR %26amp; FOR MY BIRTHDAY IM GONNA GET IT PROFESSIONALY STRAIGHTEND FOR 6 MONTHS AND I WAS JUST WONDERING HOW THAT WORKS %26amp; WHAT YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH IT IS!?!

I APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE! THANKS!!!

Hair straightening question!???!?

It can work great, just make sure you see a quality professional. They can burn you hair up also, and leave you with frizz. You may still need a flat iron, but not on a hot heat setting. You also may be able just to use a glossing polish or spray.

Hair straightening question!???!?

um so are you getting a relaxer? if your getting a relaxer just be careful to treat it right, and you ahve to use certain shampoos and conditioners so it's kind of a hassle. either way, just make sure you do exactly what the hairstylist says and you should be okay.

Hair straightening question!???!?

i have curly hair to and i have a perfeshonal straightner too i have thick hair and it takes me about an hour to get all my hair you have to do chunks of it at a time here is a tip when it get's hot do not stick ur fingers in it it hurts really bad. hehe hope i helped

Hair straightening question!???!?

well i havent had it done before but i hear it makes your hair really frizzy and it damages it. but if you want to do it go for it!

Hair straightening question!???!?

They usally use a 'relaxer'. If your getting the Japanese hair straightening system. %26amp; It kind of spells bad when they're putting it on but afterwards it usally has the effect of asian people's hair. It's very effective, but you still have to maintain it by straightening it every day, as well as washing and condioning it daily. You also want to stay out of clhorine because it will damage the chemicals.

%26lt;3 KI3RSTY

Hair straightening question!???!?

ok, honey, by the time i am done with this u will prob hav about a dozen answers, but put some thought into this one---

i went to get my hair proff. straightened and it costed me about $600 and i was so pissed off. what happens is, i got it straightened about a month ago, and when i get it wet and what not, it will go back to being the original COMPLETELY curly hair i had before, unless i blow it out with a CONAIRE blow drier, and then starighte it AGAIN with a CHI flat iron, then it is straight. I think to myself, i could go to the store, jget a ten dollar straightener, and do it myself, and it will turn out the same way. so, just, dont spend tons of money on it, because it's not worth it, plus it took five hours.

if u wanna try something different so u dont get as PO as i did, go to the store, get LORIEL straightening stuff, do it urself, then it will be ok, and if u do it that way, and you want it to be ULTRA straight, flat iron it afterwards...

or..

buy a CONAIRE blow drier, they go for about $15, $20 dollars, and a CONAIRE round brush, make sure it is big, and dont get the medal teeth on the brush, get the plastic with the ball point on the tip, they go for about $5, $10 dollars

then, go to a hair salon or the mall in ESSENTIALS, and get the CHI straightner. it's amazing and doesn't burn or fry your hair. they go for about $160 dollars, but they are ceramic and very skinny, and heat up amazingly fast with no burnt smell.

then, take a shower or wash your hair. dry it slightly and then take the round brush and a little more than 3 strands of hair, and curl it up in the round brush, put your drier on the top of the round brush/hair, and pull down with the drier (while it is on, of course) repeat this process until the strands of hair are dry, and repeat all over your head.

then, turn your flat iron on, and flat iron your hair, and you will have VERY STRAIGHT hair after this process.

i hope this helped, it worked for me, good luck sweetheart anyway. if you have any problems email me at brunettecuti1892@yahoo.com GOOD LUCK!!

Hair straightening while pregnant?

is it safe to have hair rebonded %26amp; facial if pregnant?

Hair straightening while pregnant?

when i was pregnant i asked my doctor if i could color my hair, and he said it didn't matter what i did to my hair while i was pregnant.

Hair straightening while pregnant?

Ask your doctor...many people prefer not to get chemical services during late pregnancy, though really there are no problems UNLESS you will be breast feeding. As far as facials, many stylists or techs are a little wary of pregnant women as they have more problems...you can't typically get facials if you have heart problems or high blood pressure, etc.

Hair straightening problems!?

well everytime i set the heat to 10 [theres up to 25] which isnt even alot, then it burns my hair badly. thenlater, it becomes wavy again. what should idooo???

xoxoxoxox

Hair straightening problems!?

Applying straightening lotion before using the straightener.... Its help that's what i do.

Hair straightening problems!?

Get some good, decent priced straighteners that DON'T have a heat option. GHD's are the best I've ever used and such good value for money. I've had mine almost 2 years and they've been used daily by myself, my mum and my 2 sisters and they are just as effective as when I bought them. My hair stays straight all day and you can also use them to curl your hair too!

Good luck.

Hair straightening problems!?

I had this problem so I bought a wet straightner, you use it while your hair is damp or wet. It cost about 35.00 or so but it was so worth it because it doesnt seem to damage my hair as much. I use it while I have wet hair and I put in a conditioner too before I use it and it works great!

Hair straightening problems!?

well you could buy a conair blow dryer, the one with the comb attached, that works really well, then after 15 minuets to let you hair rest from the heat, try the flat iron in the spots that might have become wavy, usually that works.

hope i helped:)

xx

Hair straightening problems!?

go to the parlor, they are the expert on that rather than letting your hair be burned, if it happens always, you can end up with no hair at all.

Hair straightening problems!?

you should turn it down to 8 so it doesn't burn your hair. you should get a ceramic hair straightner it doesn't burn as much. you should treat yourself to a deep conditioner so your hair becomes soft and it can be easily straighten. or if you already have a ceramic straightner try going to your hair salon they are professionals so they know what you need for your hair. hope this helps:)

Hair straightening problems!?

First you need to deep condition. Also all thermasilk products Use them. The product is designed to protect your hair against heat and styles perfectly. They also have a leave in conditioner for straightening and I love it. Use straightening products and turn the heat up after about 2 weeks of treatment.

Hair straightening problems!?

ask your stylist to get you one from their supply store. usually they'll sell them to you for cost. Chi is a good brand.

Hair straightening problems!?

First of all, make sure your hair isnt wet and doesnt have any hairspray, gel, or any hair product in it.

What brand straightner do you have?

I have a cheaper one, conair and it works fine,

but if you want a better one get CHI. its expensive, but works really well. Or, maybe try lowering the heat setting to 5 and see how that works. good luck

What hair straightening product to achieve this hairstyle [picture attached]?

my hair is already straight, but the tips curl out. the hair in this picture has sharp tips and thats what i'm going far. do you know a product that can give sharp tips? likee bedhed. chi. etc.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v651/h...

What hair straightening product to achieve this hairstyle [picture attached]?

First of all it's the haircut.

You should ask your haidresser to give you rasor cut tips.

Then it's the straightening.

You need to straighten with a blow dryer and a brush.

No straightener can give you that look.

And last but not least, after you're done straightening you have to apply just a little bit of hair wax in your palms and press your tips with both hands "pulling" (slightly) down.

ANY hair wax will do if you have the haircut and straightening done.

Otherwise I don't think that there's a product in the whole world to do that.

Hope your hair will look gReaT!:-)

What hair straightening product to achieve this hairstyle [picture attached]?

Have you tried cutting it with sharp tips?

What hair straightening product to achieve this hairstyle [picture attached]?

its alot to do with the way its cut. the chic in the photo has had a razor cut, and that's how you achieve the sharp jagged look. i dont really think any products can give you that look.

What hair straightening product to achieve this hairstyle [picture attached]?

any type of light hairwax, but u should probaly go get your ends razor cut so they will just kinda fall like that.

What hair straightening product to achieve this hairstyle [picture attached]?

First of all , do you have that straight texture of hair like her? Asians typically have straight, coarse hair. Her hair probably air dries close to that. She probably does have it razor cut as well. When flat ironing your hair , pull the flat iron straight down rather than curving it under or out.

What hair straightening product to achieve this hairstyle [picture attached]?

I have naturally wavy hair, so I wash it, and condition it, then put Wella color preserve hair wax in hair, Then blow dry/Straighten with a flat iron.{both products from hairdresser} And my hair looks awesome :)

Chemical hair straightening? - worth the money?

Hi , im 17 and i have extrememly curly hair like a hundred little pig tails.. yes yes - oink oink squeal.. haha but what i want to know is , Chemical hair straightening- is it worth the costs and are the results worth all that money ?? im also wondering what the process involves and is it safe? If anyone could help it would be awsome :)

Chemical hair straightening? - worth the money?

So not worth it it fades to quickly and you get left with partially straight hair. Its damaging and expensive, just get it blow dried by a pro or iron it with a hankerchief

Chemical hair straightening? - worth the money?

you have to try it first. You'll never no . But please go to a recommended professional. Report It

Chemical hair straightening? - worth the money?

no

Chemical hair straightening? - worth the money?

yes it is worth it. Black people get their kinky hair straightened all the time, its no big deal and its quick and can be done at any salon. They just put the relaxer on your head, let it sit for a couple minutes and then rinse it off. Then you'll have straight hair.

Chemical hair straightening? - worth the money?

I usually dont recommend those things.. because.. I dont want to take the risk of detroying my hair.. anyways... if you really wanna make your hair straight.. follow this tips!!

1. Conditioner for oily hair

I have naturally oily, straight hair and I used a shampoo with conditioner and then applied a leave-in conditoner to prevent static. It worked! I used mousse and a bit of hair spray and was static-free almost all day.

2. static....

i get static hair all the time...for short releif of it, use a dryer sheet. i dont know what it is that helps but it does! don't use it for very long though.

3. Moisturizer for hair Rebecca Featherston

Several years ago I was introduced to SEBASTION Potion #9. This is a leave in hair moisturizer, not a conditioner. It's used in place of, after you shampoo. Use it regularly throughout the winter months and you will notice a difference!

4. Winter hair rejuvination Rebecca

Get your hairstylist to color your hair with REDKIN SHADES...this is a conditioning, non-peroxide color wash, you can brighten your hair color by using the shades and mixing with clear to tone down to an acceptable level for your taste. This is a great treatment for the wintertime, it brightens your hair, and deep conditions it at the same time. You'll be hooked after one treatment!

5. Fly Away Hair

If you are having trouble with fly away hair try this. Rinse hair, after shampooing, every now and then with a good liquid clothes conditioner. It greatly cuts down the static in your hair.

6. Surefire Success

Keep your hat on till spring, maybe early summer.

7. To Fight Static...

I have super long (3 1/2 ft. from crown to tips), super thin, super straight hair and static in the winter is a nightmare for me. I have learned 3 good ways of combating it however. #1 Keep a trial size bottle of a leave in spray conditioner with you at all times (you can buy these in drug stores for pennies). #2 Run a dryer sheet over your hair. #3 Spray something like Static Guard over your hair (this may stink but it's effective).

8. Smooth Hair

My stylist told me that when you rinse out your conditioner, you should use colder water. When you look at a piece of hair under a microscope, it looks like the shingles of a roof. When you use colder water to rinse out your conditioner, it closes those "shingles" and makes your hair smoother.

9. Better hair

Before showering, I comb my hair one last time. This helps to distribute the natural oils in your hair. When in the shower, I usually comb my conditioner into my hair paying special attention to the tips because this is where your hair has less moisture. When I'm done I usually blast cold water onto my hair. This helps with keeping the hair moisturized since it closes the hair shaft and it makes your hair extremely shiny.

Heat damages hair period no doubt about it.

You can chemically straighten it process it similar to that of perming, it came from Japan.

Or you can buy a good quality straighteners like ghd and do it yourself whenever you want but do not forget to apply heat shield before you do it.

dude i am a boy and i use it! my hair straightener cost me about $20. its real good. my hairs are just as long as John Abraham (little shorter than that) and it works for me. my hairs look silky and shiny. the only problem is that if you use water or get them wet, they will curl up.......that's all! also try using some hair oil after using it--it will make the hair shine.

Is Yuko hair straightening for me?

My mom is taking me to a spa for my birthday. They offer Yuko hair straightening and they say the price depends on your hair. My hair is 10 inches long, thick, and wavy on the ends. My roots are pretty straight. Would this work on my hair %26amp; how much?

Is Yuko hair straightening for me?

It will most likely work very well. I had it done once and my hair is just like yours as you described. The price is between $200 and $600 dollars, depending on how long your hair takes. You will also need to buy hair care products, which will usually be offered at the spa.If i were you, i would do it! My cousin had really curly hair and had this done and it looked amaing! PLUS, it lasted for almost a year! The gaurenteed time is around 6-8 months, but will last longer usually!

Is Japanese hair straightening any good?

I have naturally straight hair but I have tons of it and its very thick and it can get a little pouffy. Some like to call it voluminous, but i prefer the sleek and super straight look. Ever since i got a haircut with a lot of layers in it, i have been straightening my hair with a ceramic flat iron almost everyday. It looks really bad if i don't, but it takes too much time. My hairdresser told me that i would be a good candidate for it since i have pretty healthy hair and it does not have any dye in it. I'm hesistant to go through with it cuz i don't want to damage my hair and have it fall out.

Has anyone had this done? Tell me about your experiences

Thanks!

Is Japanese hair straightening any good?

I have the same type of hair you do and mine is also very course. I had the Japanese hair straightening done and believe me, it works. I can just wash my hair and go or if you want to blow dry it, that's fine. It will still be straight. It last between 4-8 months depending on how fast your hair grows. The only problem is that it takes 4 hours to get it done specially if you have thick hair. They starighten your hair with a ceramic flat iron, then put the chemicals on your hair. Then you wait some time, then they wash your hair. Afterwards, they put another type of chemical on your hair. Wait a little bit more and then they wash it again. Afterwards, the stylist just blow drys your hair. This process can cost between $150-500 depending on where you live.

Which are the best hair straightening products?

Doubts about hair straightening?

mine is a curly hair.i want to do hair straightneing permanently coz am afraid 2 use those iron nd all.will it harm my hair ,how shuld i take care my hair after doinf straightening.hopin good advice frm u guys

Doubts about hair straightening?

I don't think you should do permanent hair straightening. It can really potentially damage your hair more then using a flat iron a few times a week.

I would suggest buying a good flat iron and then buying a heat protectant to use on your hair when you straighten it. This will prevent your hair from getting damaged. Or, you could use hair spray if you don't want to buy a heat protectant. When you flat iron your hair, its always a good idea to use a deep conditioner [I really like the ones from Dove!] once or twice a week. This will keep your hair healthy and moisturized, instead of weak and brittle.

Doubts about hair straightening?

hi,

you can straighten your hair yourself, without any iron stuff, here's an article for you:

http://www.jurgita.com/articles-id12.htm...

it won't harm your hair so it's a good way out

Doubts about hair straightening?

Okay, do not do it yourself, all it takes is one booboo and your are screwed!!! Trust me, I know!!! I have had mine straightened over a year and a half ago and it was wonderful and has lasted that long, you just need to get your roots touched up every six months. My hair professional used Matrix and I NEVER had hair breakage or damage OF ANY KIND!!!!! I swear by it. I have had my hair straightened before and it was a disaster with another product and my hair was frizzier and dead and one other time that a friend did for me and killed my hair. Have it professionally done, it DOES cost more but in the end it is so much more worth it for you and your hair!!!!

What are your best hair straightening tips?

alright, my problem is that my extensions and my natural hair don't match. the extensions look amazing and always stay perfectly straight when i straighten them. however, my nautral hair refuses to stay straight. it will look nice and straight for about five minutes before going back to it's natural form. my hair is wavy and kind of poofy, so it looks extremely silly when it decides to disobey my straightening commands.

sooo i'm looking for your best tips for straightening! if there are any products out there that will help me that would be great.

and for the record, my straightener is a really high-quality one.

What are your best hair straightening tips?

i straighten my hair everyday and what i usually find helps is to blow-dry it first because that makes it more straight in the first place compared to towel drying it.

to keep your hair non-frizzy use garnier fructis sleek and shine serum, its like $3 and amazing.

after straightening your hair use a hair putty, that seems kinda gross but really works and they're only like $4 at your local drug store.

hope this helps !

What are your best hair straightening tips?

wet to dry straighteners are good for non cooperative hair. also finger straightening works well, when you dry your hair with a hair dryer just run your fingers straight through your hair until it gets dry. often your hair tends to be poofy after and that is what you should use the straightener for.

What are your best hair straightening tips?

when you are straightening your straighten little bits then blow it dry with cold air

What are your best hair straightening tips?

ok try finding a product to put in beforehand to help it hold and blowdry it before you straighten it. put strong hold hairspray in after you finish straightening it (try garnier fructis full control ultra strong). as for the fact that your straightener is really high quality, that doesn't mean anything. i personally have found that the cheaper straighteners without all of the extra things (like drying and straightening your hair at the same time) actually work better than the really expensive ones. i had a fairly expensive one that didnt work that well at all and i returned it and got a cheaper conair one that works about ten times better.

What are your best hair straightening tips?

when u blowdry ur hair use a straightening cream or somethin and also a anti-frizz thing. i use paul mitchell sleek serum or something like that and it is soo awesome. when u straighten ur hair i heard that if you flip your head down adn straighten the bottom part of ur hair it makes it straighter but i never rly tried...

What are your best hair straightening tips?

i have that problem too

thats why i couldnt get extensions. :(

but uhmm

i just use a lot of hairspray

but idk if that works on everybody :/

maybe a type of product that you can use before/while straightening.

hope that helped somehow. :]

Does Japanese hair straightening seriously damage hair?

I'm thinking about the advantages and disadvantages or doing it. I'm well aware that anything that involves using chemical treatments with hair has its risks. BUT my hair is a nappy wavy messy piece of junk. It can be fixed with Jap straightening. HOWEVER, my hair falls out ALL the time in the shower. like strands come out. I'm like a shedding dog (for real).

Anyone done it before??

Does Japanese hair straightening seriously damage hair?

I had done it for about 5 times before I think ( once almost every year as I have natural wavy hair). I don't think it did my hair much damage.

It became smoother and easier to manage instead. Of course you need to use some hair cream or oil to maintain your smooth sleek look.

It depends greatly on the quality of the chemical used and the hair treatment used before and after the straightening. There are different brands of hair chemicals out there in the market. Shiseido is one the good brands but more costly. So, you have to spend quite a bit before you get the quality good look. =)

By the way, if you are losing hair greatly everyday then you might have sensitive scalp. You will have to consult the hairstylist before you do this treatment in case your scalp is sensitive to the hair chemicals and cause more hair loss.

Does Japanese hair straightening seriously damage hair?

It's big time bad for your hair, but go to where ever you'd get it done and talk to them about it. Maybe theres a way you can do it?

Does Japanese hair straightening seriously damage hair?

YES IT GETS DAMAGED VERY BADLY %26amp; IT FEELS LIKE YOUR HAIR IS GOING TO FALL OUT ! BAD IDEA I THINKK. well i heard..

Does Japanese hair straightening seriously damage hair?

Yes Japanese straightening works but be very selective if not done right it can destroy your hair. A better choice would be Brazilian Keratin Treatment.Look into it it is amazing!!!!!1

But i could suggest u some tips which u cud do in ur home itself:

2. Weekly twice u do this: Grind tomatos in mixie and apply on ur hair for one hour and wash.

Your hair will be very smooth and straightened. Please don go for any chemical products and nasty your hair.

All the best.

Any good information on Japanese hair straightening?

Im deliberating on whether I should get a japanese straightening done or not. I need more information before I decide though.

My hair is very thick {has lots of volume} and curly; and usually frizzy. Im going on a trip to Bermuda for a week, and I really don't want to have to deal with the mess I call my hair. Someone had said that with a japanese straightening, it can get wet and it'll dry straight. Hopefully thats true!

Also, when I flat iron my hair, it turns thinner, and I wanted to know if thats the case with the japanese straightening. When I blowdry my hair straight, it's all poofy; but when I flat iron it, it's a bit thin. Will it be thin? Or will it look like it does when I blowdry it?

Please help!

Any good information on Japanese hair straightening?

if your hair is curly, thick and frizzy then the Japanese straightening would probably be a great idea for you. it's a permanent straightening and yes, it will dry straight. you don't even have to blow-dry for it to dry straight.

i had straight, thick and frizzy hair and went for a Japanese straightening about a year ago. i only wanted it because i heard it eliminates frizziness. i can honestly say that on the first day it felt kind of weird because it was soooo flat! my thickness seemed to have disappeared.. but the texture was so shiny and smooth. then after a few weeks the volume started to come back and the frizziness was still at bay.

a year later, the frizz still hasn't come back! i don't regret getting the straightening, i liked it! just keep in mind that it's a perm and it will stay straight until it grows out.

and to answer your question, it will look more like when you flat iron your hair. it becomes a bit thinner and not poufy.

Do you put hair straightening products after or before you straighten your hair?

and what products do you recommend?

and hair spray, do you spray it on after you finish straightening your hair?

Do you put hair straightening products after or before you straighten your hair?

John Freida hair serum before straightening, and aussie heat protectant as I straighten-I use a wet-to straight iron and the aussie keeps my hair damp. I rarely use hairspray, when I do i usually have to touch up with a flat iron afterwards. Instead I use John Freida's secret weapon cream- it tames any frizzies but leave my hair soft and shiny

Do you put hair straightening products after or before you straighten your hair?

tresemme heat tamer the best ever!!!!!!!!!

Do you put hair straightening products after or before you straighten your hair?

For straightening hair at home, you can use a hair iron and a straightening shampoo will also help. If you wish to straighten for a longer time, you can undergo Japanese hair straightening. I found this website useful - http://hcr.in/straighten.html

What is the best hair straightening serum?

I have really, really curly hair that is alot of trouble to straighten with an iron every day. Is there any straightening serum out there that you just put into your hair to straighten extremely curly hair?

What is the best hair straightening serum?

Are you looking to straighten it permanently? Get a hair relaxer, or even a perm kit and comb it straight instead of curling it.

What is the best hair straightening serum?

There is a serum that comes with the Chi straight iron. This stuff is the most amazing thing I have ever put in my hair! It makes it sleek, smooth, straight, AHHH Its amazing! Look into Chi products

What is the best hair straightening serum?

You can buy shampoos and conditoners to halp straighten hair and you can also buy creams and stuff just go to somewhere like boots or superdrug they have quite alot of good stuff.

What is the best hair straightening serum?

schwarzkopf

What is the best hair straightening serum?

I have very curly hair and its extremely long and thick as well I have used bio silk since i was little to straighten it. It protects ur hair agianst the iron as well!

What is the best hair straightening serum?

I have the same problem %26amp; it gets old having to straighten the mess out of you hair on a daily basis but in my experience, hair serums just make your hair look oily %26amp; greesy. It's hard to really get it spread evenly %26amp; with good consistancy. BUT I've started using Garnier fruitese shampoo %26amp; conditioner %26amp; I love it. Try to blue %26amp; it really helps to tame my hair. However, if you are desparate for a serum, go to your hairdresser %26amp; get CHI hair serum. It works well, especially on your dead ends (because of ironing it every day) %26amp; it smells wonderful.
