I straighten my hair almost every day but I do not want to damage it so much. I have seen products that you put on your hair before straightening it to protect it from frying. Which of these works really well and is affordable? I don't really want to spend a lot of money.

at least take this advice:

Buy only products from beauty/hair salons.

Nothing from Walmart or stroes in that nature.

I have tried the "Silk Therapy" from Biosilk,

which is really popular.

But it's really oily so you'll only want to use a little bit.

I really don't reccomend it because alcohol

is in part of the ingredients,

This one is a spray which is pretty cool

but again, less is more.

It makes your hair hard and sticky

like a firm-hold hairspray

so your have to brush most of it out

in order to have touchable hair.

It's very healthy for your hair and,

best of all, it leaves your hair super soft

without adding any heaviness from the product.

An extra tip is this:

to really protect your hair,

you want to make sure the flat iron

you use is ceramic.

The best flat iron that I've ever used

and currently own today is a Chi.

High-quality and professional,

it's about $100.

But it's a lot better for you than the $20 brands.

Releases heat evenly and works much faster.

You will see a difference after only your first time!

If you don't want to pay $100, try Ebay

because they will most likely have great discounts.

Tresemme has a heat tameing spray you can use on your hair before you flat-iron it. Spray it on sections of dry hair. Let your hair dry and straighten it. I use it on my hair. Wich I flat iron every day.
