Hair straightening help?!?
Well there are TONS of products that you can buy to help.
For starters, it helps if you use a really good shampoo/conditioner. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for!
Off the top of my head, some really good products are John Freida, Pureology, and Joico. As far as straighteners go, I personally use a CHI iron and it is the best (and straightest) my hair has ever looked. I am Black, so my hair is really unruly (at times), but not with the CHI. I swear by it, and it is the only straightener I'll ever use again. They are pretty expensive, but it is well worth the money you spend.

Hey sweety,
I did a video a while back on ' how to defrizz hair in a hurry'. It shows you how to use an iron to get the curl out. (I have naturally curly hair too)
The video turned out a bit dark but you can see what I'm doing for sure.
Hope it helps. Links below.

I also have a chi and that iron works the best ( I have tried many ) , its kind of pricey BUT its well worth the buy . Also chi has the chemicals to use on your hair with the flat irons ,etc , and it keeps your hair dead straight

Blowdrying first does make a difference. But don't just blowdry, use a brush. It helps. Also try Sunsilk Purple. It says it get 80% of of the kinks out. I tried it %26amp; fell in love with it. You do need to use all of the 3 step system for full rsults. Shampoo, conditioner, %26amp; leave-in. Bonus-it's average priced. About $3/bottle. Go to sunsilk.com %26amp; request a free sample.
Best of luck!
PS
Dont forget to use a heat protectant spray todown the amount of damage =)

The best thing is a Hot Tools Curling iron! The one with the 1-1/2 inch barrel. I have tried a CHI and I wouldn't waste my money. You can get your stylist to purchase a hot tools for you because you have to get them in a beauty supply store. I also love my conair infiniti blow dryer. It takes the kink out then I smooth it all out with the curling iron. And there is a problem with thermal sprays, if you go out into humid air or when the dew falls it makes your hair frizz so much worse.

Go somewhere like sallys beauty supply or walmart and buy a perm, but instead of rolling it you put the solution on your hair start in the back and comb through, it's called smoothing, but comb through all over your hair usually it only takes about 20-30 minutes you'll be able to see if it's as straight as you want it, then rinse out put neutralizing solution on 5 minutes rinse and style. It last for about 1 month depending on how fast your hair grows, then you re-touch the roots when it starts to mess up your style. It works for me and I have very, very curly hair!!

I'M AN AFRICAN AMERICAN WITH VERY THICK HAIR. I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING IN THE BOOK BUT THE JILBERE CERAMIC 1/2 INCH (THE SMALLER THE PLATES, THE CLOSER TO THE SCALP YOU CAN GET FOR LASTING STRAIGHTNESS) WORKS WONDERFUL. TRY THE REDKIN SMOOTH DOWN BEFORE YOU BLOW DRY YOUR HAIR AS WELL. IT WILL GIVE YOU A SMOOTHER LASTING STRAIGHTNESS. THIS WAS RECOMMENDED BY MY HAIR STYLIST. PORCELAIN PLATES ARE VERY IMPORTANT AS THEY ELIMINATE ANY FREE RADICALS ON THE HAIR WHICH PROMOTES CLEAN AND HEALTHIER HAIR. THOSE METAL IRONS YOU SEE ARE BAD NEWS. THEY RETAIN HEAT WHITH BURN AND BREAK YOUR HAIR. PORCELAIN/CERAMIC WILL DISTRIBUTE THE HEAT EVENLY AS YOU PULL THE IRON BETWEEN YOUR HAIR AND HAVE AN INDICATOR SO YOUR HAIR WON'T BURN. YOU CAN BUY ANY JILBERE PRODUCTS AT SALLY'S BEAUTY SUPPLY NORMALLY ALWAYS HAVE THEM ON SALE FOR ABOUT 30 BUCKS. WORKS JUST AS WELL AT THE CHI.

Hair straightening help?!?
I have a PHI and it works better than the GHD that I had!! I paid over $200 for my GHD, I thought it was great at the time until I got a birthday gift from my mother. I was skeptical at first,I didn't expect to see that much of a difference, so I was blown away by the results when I tried it for the first time. First of all, my hair looked SO much better than when I had straightened it with my GHD - healthier, shinier, and more natural. It also took about 30 minutes of use to get my hair perfect, as opposed to the hour or more with my old iron, which, even then, didn't get my hair looking nearly as good.
I went to their website at http://www.phibeauty.com and found out the reason my hair was so shiny was that they used tourmaline in their irons, unlike chi or ghd. I can totally see a difference and would recommend PHI Flat Irons to anyone!
