An iron doesn't really do justice to hair like his, it needs a professional job, you will have curly hair at the top of your head and then you will have straight on the bottem.

Yeah they suck. But if your hair is already too curly, dry and messed up, it's your only solution. IF you have soft, curly cute hair, don't ruin it with the permanent straightening

my roommate had her hair chemically straightened it took like 8 hours and it was stick straight..but a month later when her hair had grown out an inch it grew in curly...and she couldnt straighten her roots. sooo she had an inch of curly hair and stick straight hair it looked terrible...she said she would never do it again

I have had my hair straightened for 7 years, What actually happens is your hair gets very wimpy. Lifeless. I have very thick and tight curls naturally. I did all this straightening so I sould have long hair. It worked! But very expensive. It is true what the other person said. It grows back curly on top!! It does look silly. My hairdresser just did my roots. I had to stop because I got this notion to lighten my hair myself. I used an over the counter dye that had metal flakes in it. Needless to say the next time I went in to straighten my hair it broke off in a mohawk!! So off came my hair to that cute small fro. Now I get it ironed at the beauty parlor and wear gorgeous clip in ponytails that go to my butt!! So I have beautiful hair. Now adays you can get products that might help with that wimpy limpy hair you get from straightening. Glass/hair serum..pro v products. It cost me between 60-80 dollar depending how much was straightened. Like I said I did it for 7 years and loved it.
