IHR Permanent Hair Straightening?

Ive heard IHR permanent hair straightening causes less damage than yoko and the other famous brands - has anyone tried it and how much does it cost in the UK?

Thanks.

IHR Permanent Hair Straightening?

Hi. I've not heard of IRH straightening. However, I've had mine chemically straightened twice now and was very pleased with the results. I have shoulder length fine wavy hair. It lasted about 3-4 months. Before I had it done I made sure my hair was in good condition and conditioned it every day for a couple of weeks. Good luck !

IHR Permanent Hair Straightening?

cant say ive tried it but i can say that u can go 2 the hair salon and they do a treat ment that wil keep ur hair straight for a while

IHR Permanent Hair Straightening?

Personally I don't have much experience with these. I would recommend having a good old chat with you hair stylist, because, of course, it's irreversible once you've messed up your hair! Sorry I couldn't help much, best of luck, Princess Lola x

I did the japanese hair straightening... how do i reverse it?

I did it and i hated, my hair feels too thin and has no body or volume. Help me get my hair back!!

I did the japanese hair straightening... how do i reverse it?

you can't reverse it unless you get a perm.

japanese rebonding is amazing straight. you should know it before you get it.

now you can either perm it or just wait for it to grow out.

I did the japanese hair straightening... how do i reverse it?

no can do....you changed the chemical bond in your real hair, now you have to just wait for it to grow out....

I did the japanese hair straightening... how do i reverse it?

you cant unless you get a permanent curl, it takes about 4 months i believe..

i guess wait until it grows out.

there is no easy way.

for volume you can always use a special shampoo or use those blow dryers that have an add-on to make it more voluptuous.

I did the japanese hair straightening... how do i reverse it?

i dont know but im curios about this japanese straightening. where do you get it at?

I did the japanese hair straightening... how do i reverse it?

just take a bunch of gel and scrunch your hair

What are some good hair straightening products that will not leave my hair feeling weighed down?

I have long hair

What are some good hair straightening products that will not leave my hair feeling weighed down?

beyond the zone beyond the zone beyond the zone! first i start off with john freida "frizz ease" shampoo and conditioner. i wrap my head in a towel to soak up the excess moisture. i then apply straight shot "kill the kink" by btz, straight shot "shine and define" by btz and frizz zapper "anti frizz serum" also by btz. so far you will have spent like $26. okay i blow dry my hair while its still damp after applying all the products i just stated. blow dry the hair (with a comb attachment) to nearly dry. while hair is barely damp i apply ceramic silk thermal protection creme, $6.29. i completely dry the hair with a blow dryer with a comb attatchment. when hair is completly dry i add a LITTLE more of the thermal protection cream and comb through from roots to tips. then i spray with a heat protection spray. btz make a good one named turn up the heat, silk elements makes a good one too, so does ion. i start at the nape of the neck with a cermaic flat iron with small sections and sorta curl the hair under as i straighten. put the heat on low as possible! dont go over the hair several times! yes these products are good but nothing can protect against constant damaging heat, so use heat sparingly! so ladies, fellas, with curly hair you can achieve the look for about $50. you can prob get a good ceramic flat iron for like $30. i get the most of the products from sally beauty supply, i get the shampoo from walmart. you can almost always find a sale on the btz products at sally. the shampoo and conditioner i found on sale for like $6 for the shampoo, conditioner, and glossing mist! what a deal! oh yeah finish up with john freida 100% glossing mist. it makes the hair soooo shiny. i even think its a better alternative to oil sheen. these products i have tested and i know it works cause i used them like two hours ago. oh yeah alternate from natural to straight cause heat is damaging. so if your hair is starting to become brittle and breaking, lay off the heat for like a week! deep condition during this time and moisturize moistuirize moisturize! when my hair is curly i use bb "pink lotion". that k7 stuff is too greasy! bb is the best! i hope this helps yall mixed ppl out there. i myself am black and puerto rican and i love this hair and skin im in! embrace your beauty! us mixed girls are some of hottest on the planet! work it!

What are some good hair straightening products that will not leave my hair feeling weighed down?

matrix smoothing spray! or sumthning like that its called like staigntening smoother or something..orange bottle.

What are some good hair straightening products that will not leave my hair feeling weighed down?

a god product is the chi oil which you can find at salons..nd biosilk..they make you hair feel very silky and are not thick and greasy...they also protect hair while straightening :)

What are some good hair straightening products that will not leave my hair feeling weighed down?

Wet to strait those are so good i have long hair and it woorks so good and it takes like 1 minuet to warm up im not joking

What are some good hair straightening products that will not leave my hair feeling weighed down?

ok well i would reccomend suave moose or la bella scruch gel. both are suppossed to curl your hair but if you put it in while its wet and then use a hair dryer and brush to almost straighten it, it willl work perfectly!! if those dont work i would get a hair staightner, the best one i've used is remington wet2staight!!

What are some good hair straightening products that will not leave my hair feeling weighed down?

Dangerously Straight by Herbal Essences. You put it on each section of dry hair before you hit it with the straightener. I also use it when my hair is just a bit damp and then i finish the drying in sections that i spray and heat up around a round brush

What are some good hair straightening products that will not leave my hair feeling weighed down?

Straight Works by Paul Mitchell is a silicone based smoothing gel that I love! It never weighs the hair down, and the silicone makes the hair like silk! I'm surprised how often John Frieda's Frizz-Ease comes up on here, because when I used it, my hair was very sticky and weighed down. Unless they've improved on the formula since I first tried it.

Water-Proof Hair straightening creams?

Is there any hair straightening creams that are water-proof and that you know works? If so, where can i buy it?

Water-Proof Hair straightening creams?

no such thing. sorry.

How much would Japanese hair straightening cost... and other questions.?

How much would the intial process cost for hair that is approximately three feet long?

How much would touch ups cost?

What type of damage would my hair sustain visably and strength-wise?

What advice and/or facts can you give me?

Thank you so much for your time.

How much would Japanese hair straightening cost... and other questions.?

it's very expensive, around $700 and $300 for touch ups.

How much would Japanese hair straightening cost... and other questions.?

I heard it costs $800. I could be wrong, but I think it is suppose to be the best.

How much would Japanese hair straightening cost... and other questions.?

For hair that is 36 inches long, you can expect to pay as much as $900, depending on where you live. If you have virgin hair that has never been bleached or chemically processed, Japanese hair straightening is relatively safe. Even if your hair comes out looking great, there will be some damage. Don't belive anyone who tells you that it does no damage. If you don't have virgin hair, then the damage could be worse. You might not even be a good candidate depending on that health of your hair. Go to a hairstylist who does it, and have them analyze your hair to see if you're a good candidate.

Has anybody had Japanese Hair Straightening (Thermal Reconditioning?)?

If you have, how satisfied are you?

How much did it cost?

How much damage did it do to your hair?

What type of hair do you have??

If you answer all of these I might pick you as best answer for your help, so please help!

THANKS!

Has anybody had Japanese Hair Straightening (Thermal Reconditioning?)?

I had this done, and so far I'm very satisfied with it! It cost less than $600 and took a little over two hours. I haven't noticed damage to my hair - in fact it made my hair seem smoother, less frizzy, and shinier. My hair is thick, medium length, very curly and very frizzy when I didn't put gel in it. It used to take 45 minutes or so to straighten, now about 3 minutes just to touch it up in the morning. I definitely recommend it if your hair is extremely curly, frizzy or thick because there's a huge difference. I love just being able to shower or go swimming and not have to deal with my hair.

Has anybody had Japanese Hair Straightening (Thermal Reconditioning?)?

I had this done at a very good Professional hair salon.

I was NOT satisfied at all. I will never do it again.

1) It cost around $300 and took about 2-3 hours.

2) It looked beautiful when she did it but after a few days at home I found out that it completely fried my hair.

3) I have a lot of "fine" hair, natural wave/body, light brown, and medium length. It was in good shape before I did this. I was so disappointed. I've had to deep condition it almost every other day for months just to get it back to somewhat of an acceptable level.

I hope this helps in your decision. I do think if you have a heavy/thick hair type that you would get better results than someone like me that has a lot of "fine" hair.

Good Luck and have a nice day.

Wot r th temporary methods of straightening hair?

ma hair is curly.. i jus wanna temporarily straighten it .. cos i want my curls back.. cud u lemme kno how i cud do it temporarily?

Wot r th temporary methods of straightening hair?

Buy VO5 hair gel but a chi hair straightner and seperate hair into 10 diff sections. Take 1 section and go over with straightener

several times.repeat process with every section of hair.

Wot r th temporary methods of straightening hair?

i cant belive you are asking this. USE A STRAIGHTENER!

Wot r th temporary methods of straightening hair?

buy a straightener

Wot r th temporary methods of straightening hair?

use a flat iron or blowdry it straight it will curl back up when you wash it

Wot r th temporary methods of straightening hair?

Straightening iron. If it's really dry, you might wanna start straightening when it's a little damp. And, it makes it softer too.

I have curly hair too, and it gets on my nerves sometimes.

Wot r th temporary methods of straightening hair?

Buy a hair straightener or blow dry it straight.. but that would take longer and it would end up wavy. Either way as soon as you get out of the shower your hair will be curly again.

Oh and any type of gel or serum will just make your hair greasy

DON'T ever straighten your hair when its wet OR damp. it will FRY your hair.

Wot r th temporary methods of straightening hair?

buy a straighter and straighten it or put some moose in your brush and brush your hair until all the moose is not visible!!!!!

Wot r th temporary methods of straightening hair?

Flat ironing is the best attempt. To wake your hair a little straiter, but not too strait, you can put moose in your hair, get a "straitening brush" which is 2 paddle brushes on hinges, and you can blow dry with them to kinda straiten your hair. They also have straigtening shampoos and conditioners that don't work on everyone. The 2 best brands for that are Sunsilk, and Herbal essences:pin strait. For the Sunsilk, you can order a free sample to be sent to your home. make sure to choose the purple one, which is for straitening , callled Straiten-Up heres the link: http://www.gethairapy.com/samples/ . there are also hot oil straitening treatments that you do weekly, which you can get at your local drugstore for a few dollars for 2 tratmendts. i reccomend v05 brand for that..

Products used for hair straightening?

what recommended product (brand and name) should i use in my hair before and after straightening with a ceramic straightener/ blow drying it?

not too pricey but works well and protects hair from heat.

products found in australia please and found on shelves at the market!

Products used for hair straightening?

mmm... well I'm not quite sure what they sell or for that matter the shops available in austrailer... but oh well...

what I use is Tressemme heat defence styling spray..

I don't know if you've heard of it before... I hope they sell it there because it's really good, trust me it is!!!

It helps protect from ceramic straighteners, tongs asnd dryers. It also reduces frizz, and adds shine... It smells great too.. Here in england it costs aroung 鎷?.00 which I think is quite cheap considering its a 300ml bottle and what it does.. I would definatly invest in this one.

hope this helped if not sorry! : )

Have a nice christmas!!!

ps:please rate my answer, I'm a really slow typer and it took me ages lol x x

Products used for hair straightening?

tresemme heat deffence is very good, not pricey either!!

Products used for hair straightening?

Biosilk hair therapy. It's the best when using a ceramic straightner. You can get it hair stores, in salons at jcpenney, I think you can even buy it at target. You can get the smallest bottle and it lasts a long time. All you need is like a dime size.

Products used for hair straightening?

I live in the US and dont know if these products are sold in Australia but i use John Frieda thermal protection serum (about $8 here in the states)...i apply this before blow drying to towel dried hair.

http://www.johnfrieda.com/products/produ...

When i use the flat iron i use CHI Shine Infusion Thermal Polishing Spray ($13)...my hair has never been softer, straighter and shinier. This product though...spray it a couple of inches away from the hair and let the mist fall on it...otherwise if u do it right on the hair it will be terribly greasy.

Hope this helps :)

matrix sleek look smoothing iron spray, some salons have it right now for 50% off. Its awesome and protects your hair

Best drug store hair straightening creme(or spray or mouse)?

I have kinda wavy/straight hair...but it waves in ALL the wrong places around my face and anyway Im trying to get a striaghter style and all SO I was just wondering What do you think is the best product that i can buy at like london drugs or something for straightening your hair?? THank you !! xxx

Best drug store hair straightening creme(or spray or mouse)?

you'll probably need to flat iron it

wash your hair as normal and let it air dry untill its damp

work a heat protection product through your hair, i use tresseme heat protection spray, it comes in a black bottle and it about 4 buck at a drugstore.

let it air dry the rest of the way, or blow dry it, your choice

next flat iron it in sections (top, middle, and bottom)

finally use some shine or hairspray, whatever you prefer, and voila! smooth, shiny straight hair :]

Best drug store hair straightening creme(or spray or mouse)?

yea i have that problem... but this stuff from herbal essentes works like a charm but they ususally have like a billion hair stuff and if you just go in there u'll b able to find it!

Best drug store hair straightening creme(or spray or mouse)?

i use paul mitchell super skinny serum...you can get it at your hair salon or at one of those sally beauty supply stores. i get mine for about $18, but it's worth it.

I'm switching from hair straightening to a perm, is there anything i should be aware of at this

for the past 5 months i've been straightening my hair with a hair straightener without heat protecting serum. i use it once a week (but i used to use it nearly everyday for 2 months). i cut off split ends but theres still alot.

i never had a perm before so should i do something before i go get one? i'm worried that it would damage my hair even more, so... any advice?

I'm switching from hair straightening to a perm, is there anything i should be aware of at this point?

It will damage your hair more.

If you really want curly hair, then you should probably just scrunch now, unless you want more damaged hair. Let your hair relax for a little bit, but if you really want/need it, get olive oil, heat it up, distribute through hair, wait for 20 minutes, then wash it out

it'll moisturize your hair

also, after the perm, get a spray or a regular leave-in conditioner and use it EVERYDAY, especially on the ends

I'm switching from hair straightening to a perm, is there anything i should be aware of at this point?

if your hair is color treated make sure you tell your stylist

other wise..

take a picture of the type of curl you are expecting to see

they will tell you if it is possible to get that kind of curl

good luck

I'm switching from hair straightening to a perm, is there anything i should be aware of at this point?

They might cut the split ends off to do the perm and that's a good thing. Some advice for before the perm though, don't condition it for a few days. Washing after two is okay or even after one but lightly. Don't rinse and repeat. Pulling your hair back in a ponytail or braid will not kill the perm btw and also do not brush. Use a pick or wide tooth combe for best results.

I'm switching from hair straightening to a perm, is there anything i should be aware of at this point?

A PERM I NOT BAD AT ALL U JUST NEED TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR HAIR.

*PUT A LIL GREASE IN YOUR HAIR ONCE A WEEK

*DON'T USE A HARD BRUSH

*WASH YOUR HAIR ONCE A WEEK BUT ONLY 2 TIMES!!GOOD LUCK

Do over the counter hair straightening treatments really work?

I have wavy hair ( I am a latina), and I have to flat iron it every morning.

It's time consuming and damaging, I'm looking for a quick, inexpensive fix. Regular straightening shampoos don't work, and all the crap I use on my hair (pomade, silk therapy, the list goes on) doesn't help either. I can't afford that japanese hair reconditioning. I could afford those ones they sell over the counter. Do they work, and what are the results?

Do over the counter hair straightening treatments really work?

i'm latina too and i know what you mean, i tried to look for products that work for my hair and practically none work for my hair which sucks! I want to do the Japenese Straightening too but i don't have that much money. Those Over the counter ones don't work they'll ruin your hair and dry it out. You should save for the Japenese Straightening System but if you live near NYC you can it done by the Japenese salons it will be really cheap, like 150-200. If you live in another area you can try to find salons that the Japanese people own, i don't know if it will be that cheap but it shouldn't cost as much as regular salons. Plus, they really know what they're doing and won't make mistakes like sometimes the stylist do.

Do over the counter hair straightening treatments really work?

straightening your hair chemically is best done at a salon. it doesn't have to be the japanese type. call around and get the best deal, and a experienced professional.

hair pro 25 yrs.

Do over the counter hair straightening treatments really work?

Try it at a salon first..because something could do some serious damage to your hair if you get the wrong kind and do it wrong

Do over the counter hair straightening treatments really work?

yes they work

Do over the counter hair straightening treatments really work?

NO WAY! I EVEN PAYED $200.00 TO HAVE MY HAIR PROFESSIONALLY CHEMICALLY STRAITENED AND EVERY MORNING I HAVE TO USE THE HAIR STRAIGHTENER

Do over the counter hair straightening treatments really work?

yes they do

Do over the counter hair straightening treatments really work?

I too thought that over the counter products was the easy answer and tried to straighten my hair by myself, big mistake! It is now completely stripped, overdried, and ruined. I am latina also, and have very curly hair, I didn't want to straighten it completely, just wanted to soften my curl, and thought putting the straightener on my hair for 1/2 the time than the recommended amount would do the trick, but once I started applying the product, it took longer than anticipated. Then by the time I sectioned off, started at the front and got to the back of my head, it was time to rinse off. I now have half straight hair in the front and semi-curly hair in the back.

It looks horrible. Take my advice, either go to a professional, or get someone to help you, and think twice before going to the over the counter quick fix. Hope this helps.

Best place in newyork new york or longisland for japanese hair straightening or thermal reconditioni

Best reasonably priced place in newyork for thermal reconditioning, rebonding, japanese hair straightening?

Does anyone know of a place where i can get japanese hair straightening ( rebonding, thermal reconditioning) in ny NEWYORK? In or close to Longisland would be great..A friend told me someone at her office got it done from somewhere in Queens and was charged 150 $ only for amazing japanese straightening on her very long thick curly african american hair.. but she could not find out the name of the place..Does anyone know of a good place which charges about or less than 200 $ ?... or just any place which will give excellent results?

I have long very curly fine hair.. very dark brown with caramel highlights.. the condition of my hair isnt great so straightening with a blowdryer and iron damages it a lot plus takes up a lot of time.. i want super straight hair which can be dried naturally and will be low maintenance yet classy looking for office and job interviews etc.. THANKS!!

Do you know of the latest hair straightening products from?

Japan??? My hair stylist told me about the new Japanese hair straightening chemicals and how they work so much better then the old ones....Anyone ever had these products used on there hair? How do you like it? Its very expensive, but I would like to straighten my hair, since it is curly and I am tire of it...thanks for your answers!

Do you know of the latest hair straightening products from?

Paul Mitchell and a clothes iron, care full not to burn your ears! ha ha ha! see ya!

Do you know of the latest hair straightening products from?

Conair hair straightener.

Do you know of the latest hair straightening products from?

I have used hair relaxers (straighteners) and they work but at the same time they burn your hair!! Literally, they fry your hair!! Theres no such thing as better, they are all the same...All they do is DAMAGE, DAMAGE, DAMAGE!! Dont do it, if you want straight hair, simply buy a blow dryer, or a straightening iron and do it yourself whenever you want it straight, that way you can have it straight or curly whenever you want!! Besides, i'm so sure that curly hair looks great on you..

Do you know of the latest hair straightening products from?

There are other ones that are good too. The japanese one is very good. They are all expensive, but they all last about the same amount of time and you have to have them redone about every 3 to 5 months depending on how fast your hair grows and how long you can stand the roots being curly.

Do you know of the latest hair straightening products from?

I had it done before and i loved it. It made my hair smooth and shiny, but it only last about 4-6 months. You can get a touch up. It is pretty expensive especially for long hair. I spent about 100-150 since my hair is long.

How much would the BioIonic hair straightening treatment cost?

I have heard that the BioIonic straightening treatment is the most advanced and healthiest straightening treatment yet. I have never heard anything bad about it so I would definitly like to try it (in alternative to relaxing, which last time I tried it it didn't even work and it KILLED my hair). But I heard it was somewhat expensive. So, I was wondering if anyone from Canada could give me an estimate. My hair reaches to just below my shoulders and I am half African-American so my hair is quite curly and tough to deal with.

Thankyou :)

--Aisha (Esha)

How much would the BioIonic hair straightening treatment cost?

here in virginia it runs $300-400.

you need to find someone that does this service and tell them exactly what you have had on your hair before before getting into it and exactly when you did it.

a lot of people will come in and say that they don't have any of their previous relaxer on their hair anymore because their hair is curly again. then when they get another chemical put on it that is not compatible with the last one they had their hair breaks off where the 2 overlapped. this is very important! not all relaxers can be used over top of others.

How much would the BioIonic hair straightening treatment cost?

Free of Cost :)

Online vs real life answers to hair straightening?

why is it everyone online says i can get my hair straightened but every one i talk to in person says it frys ppls hair or it doesnt work?

i just called a salon they said its 120 for hair straightening and it last up to 6 months.

i asked them if it could fry my hair they said no it deep conditions.

im confused.

Online vs real life answers to hair straightening?

Thats about right!

The products will will cost ya at least $40 more.

Good luck!

Do what you want! Babe its only hair and its all yours.

Online vs real life answers to hair straightening?

..just tie your hair to a car bumper..

Online vs real life answers to hair straightening?

any kind of chemical you put on your hair will damage it some way. it all depends on how good of condition your hair is in and how you take care of it after you get it done.

Online vs real life answers to hair straightening?

I'm not exactly sure, but my friend had it done and it looked really good, it didn't look fried at all. I don't know if it's good for your hair though. It's probably as good for your hair as getting a perm, because it is chemicals, but if you want to get it done, then do it. hair can become healthier, and it does grow.

Online vs real life answers to hair straightening?

It can have alot to do with misinformation and a combination of personal experience.

A straightener breaks the bonds on the hair, permanently changing the processed length, until you grow it out and cut it off. Some people can get it done and it may not completely alter their hair, then there are others whose hair completely straightens. It depends on the person's hair(the porosity, thickness, condition, etc.)They can damage the hair if done improperly and if the person receiving the chemical services is clueless concerning how to take care of their hair post straightening. Chemically straightening the hair DOES dry the hair out, and it's important to keep the hair moisturized and protected. It all boils down to doing your research. If you straighten it, be prepared for the maintanence involved.

Good luck!

Online vs real life answers to hair straightening?

they want to make a sell...it's called marketing....just like all the advertising on t.v. everybodies is better than everyone elses product.. i am 1/2 black and curley kinky hair.....i have had many experences with straighterners...enough to not do it anymore after most of my hair fell out. they will make it nice in the salon...they will put tons of condictioners and products to make it soft...but when you go home good luck....it will not be so straight that you can wash and go....it will still be a little on the puffy side...you will still need to striaghten it with dryer or hot iron....it will damage and dry out... my hair is now down to my butt and i plan on never getting it straighten again. I bought a chi ceramic flat iron and use it when i want straight hair....you can't go wrong....plus when the growth starts to grow...you will need to keep getting it done or you will have 1/2 straight 1/2 curley...save your hair and spend the money for an iron...trust me

Im sorry i meant japanese hair straightening......?

im srry i meant doing the japanese hair straightening and being able to dye it on the same day.....

And i heard that if u do the japanese hair straightening process and take a shower(or wet your hair) it dries straight again is that true???...

PLEASE ANSWER.....and thx....

Im sorry i meant japanese hair straightening......?

i was guna get that done last year

but it was a lotta money, and what after happened to my aunt who got it done i decided not to.

yes..it does dry straight after a shower and everything, but after around 8 months youd have to get it done again, etc, etc

thats cuz when new hair grows in on top, its wavy or curly when what was chemically treated is straight.

make sure u get it done by a very experienced hair salon because my aunt got it done in texas and it damaged her hair so badly if u even touch it, itll break off in ur hand.

if i were u id wait a while to dye it though, cuz since it cud damage it thatd wudnt be a good idea!!

good luck and i hope it works out for you!!=]

Im sorry i meant japanese hair straightening......?

never heard of it

Im sorry i meant japanese hair straightening......?

WHAT are you TALKING about???

Im sorry i meant japanese hair straightening......?

Nope you cant dye it on the same day, sorry i dont know what happens but i was reading about it today and you cant. And yeah after you wash it, it does dry straight, it stays straight for 4-8 month(or something like that)

Hope this has helped a bit and i wish i could get my hair japanese straightened

How do the results of japanese straightening compare to hair relaxing?

I've asked this question before, but I never seem to get a solid answer. Mostly I want to know how these two treatments compare for "non-african" coarse, wavy, virgin (untreated) hair. Do they both result in wash n' go hair? Is the huge difference in price justified for my hair type? Is there any evidence that japanese straightening would actually look better? That last question is the one I never really got a solid answer for. I'm beginning to think that the only reason japanese hair straightening costs a lot more is because it's slightly less damaging, more reliable, and can be done on more hair types. Am I wrong? If it does look better, in what way does it look better? Does it just look shinier? $500 dollars shinier? The difference in price is HUGE, so I wanna find out once and for all what the real difference between these two treatments is in regards to my hair type. Thanks :) I'm so confused!

How do the results of japanese straightening compare to hair relaxing?

japanese hair straightening keeps your the texture it is, except makes it straight (if that makes sense)- basically, itkeeps your hair softer, and more refine than the hair relaxing.

Hair relaxing is a cheaper method, but many people face the problem of corse hair after the process, and alot of hair falls out.

Hair Rebonding a.k.a Japanese Hair Straightening (only for those staying in EDMONTON, AB, Canada)?

I am looking for a hair salon that actually offers hair rebonding (which is permanent straightening) in Edmonton. I just arrived here from Singapore (which has a trusted salon that i usually go to for rebonding and other services) and i'm looking for a salon that does the same. hopefully it's a certified hairdresser too. So if anyone who stays in Edmonton know which salon offers this and do add an address or at least a location (landmark) of where it is. Thanks.

I have a couple easy hair straightening questions?

Id like to start straightening my hair more often because it looks terrible when it's not straightened, and it's already pretty damaged (I cut off the most damaged parts, it's in a bob now) but it's still really dry and brittle. Ive tried moisturizing products and such, but I was wondering .. whatt straigtener will do the least damage to already damaged hair? Money's no object. What about japanese straightening (the perming)? Does that do longterm damage?

Any suggestions?

I have a couple easy hair straightening questions?

the best thing to do is to make almost a barrier between the straightener and your hair. Find a product that will protect your hair from the heat of the straightener but not make your hair too greasy. if you go to a drug store or product store look for one specifically for excess heat. apply more of the product at the ends of your hair than at the roots so that the ends dont get fried and frizzy. a ceramic straightener works better and will glide over the hair not causing so many breaks in the hair.

I have a couple easy hair straightening questions?

ceramic straighteners are better for your hair but there still not the best thing for your hair

I have a couple easy hair straightening questions?

try the chi straightener.

and theres stuff you can put in you hair to stop the frying from straightners.

Japanese hair straightening-are there any salons around Mobile, AL, Pensacola, FL or New Orleans, LA

I am interested in getting Japanese hair straightening or thermal reconditioning and I was wondering if there were any salons that provide these services near my hometown? Any ideas where I can find a list of such salons?

Japanese hair straightening-are there any salons around Mobile, AL, Pensacola, FL or New Orleans, LA?

Hi, if you do a google search on bioionic or thermal bioionic hair straightening you'll get the method you're after. I've attached the website for you. It does take about 5 hours and is about $400. You won't be able to wash, brush or tie up your for 3 days as the straightening solution is still working and you don't want kinks. I suggest having your hair cut before you get the treatment done so it doesn't look weird. Good Luck

Is permanent hair straightening a good idea? does it damage the hair? should I go for it?

I have thin hair which is very frizzy, I have some hairloss too these days, I want to get it done cos I am getting married and will be going on my honeymoon, don't want to deal with a straightening iron there!! HELP!

Is permanent hair straightening a good idea? does it damage the hair? should I go for it?

First of all lets be real, the hair straightening is not permanent. Your hair is always growing so the new hair is going to be your natural texture. If your hair is thin and you are experiencing hair loss, the last thing you want to do is chemically or thermally straighten it.

I think you should take this time before your wedding/honeymoon and get weekly deep conditioning treatments. You can wear extensions or a hairpiece for the wedding ceremony to add fullness.

For the long term, learn how to work with your hair texture. There are lots of products out there to combat frizzyness. The bottom line is that you don't want to end up loosing all of your hair. Being newly married is enough to adjust too. Good luck and congrats!

Is permanent hair straightening a good idea? does it damage the hair? should I go for it?

well you shouldn't get it right now cos you can't have any fun for about a week since you have to protect it from water dirt etc. to let it kick in better but it doesn't damage hair if your hairstylist knows what he/she doing

Is permanent hair straightening a good idea? does it damage the hair? should I go for it?

My friend gets her hair done like that (permanent straightening) and it looks soo good. Her hair is naturally really curly though. It doesnt look damaging at all, just looks really straight!

Is permanent hair straightening a good idea? does it damage the hair? should I go for it?

if it is already thinning out, and your hair in general is THIN I would say DEFINITELY NO NO NO.

You are giong to risk LOSING your hair completely.. %26lt;--- that is if your thinking Straightening with a SOLUTION, or chemical rather...

If you straighten it with a STRAIGHTENER, it will still damage but not nearly as bad as with a chemical straightner.. Just be really careful.. Give yourself some deep conditioning treatments before hand! GOOD LUCK :) :)

Is permanent hair straightening a good idea? does it damage the hair? should I go for it?

if the person that is doing it for u is a pro then it will look great and not get ugly quick but if you don't take care of it to it can be a mess so be careful and good luck

Is permanent hair straightening a good idea? does it damage the hair? should I go for it?

if u have thin hair u shouldnt

Is permanent hair straightening a good idea? does it damage the hair? should I go for it?

Chemical/permanent straightening should only be done on healthy hair. The chemicals used to straighten are strong. Straightening can also aggravate the problem if your hair is already thinning %26amp; you could end up with bald patches within a matter of hours or days. Don't do it!

Does the Japanese hair straightening technique work?

When I see old pics of JLO and Halle Berry, its clear that their hair is naturally very curly. What do they do to have that pin straight hair (I'm sure they're aren't using a straightening iron everyday). Even Chelsea Clinton has straight hair....Beyonce, Naomi Campbell.....HOW?

Does the Japanese hair straightening technique work?

most of these people have short hair, waht they use are extensions....like halle berry...and j lo. they use very expensive products and remember they have stylists that know what is best for their hair and know how to take care of it. but i think it def. is extensions.......

Does the Japanese hair straightening technique work?

absolutely. My son had it done. It is board straight

Does the Japanese hair straightening technique work?

It works but it's very pricey and can damage your curly hair permanently. However I doubt they had the Japenese straightening done to their hair. You'd be surprised. A little blow drying and a flat iron can go a long way.

Me and a couple of my friends have to straighten our hair that way every day. It really doesn't take to much effort with a good straightener.

Does the Japanese hair straightening technique work?

well its very easy.. wash ur hair then brush while wet, blow dry

Does the Japanese hair straightening technique work?

Hate to break it to you, but the majority of the ladies you named wear either full wigs or extensions when you see them in public.

I've heard the Japanese method does work....but for something that 'works' so well, dont know anyone who's gotten it (..i.e. willing to pay for it?) Ceramic irons have been something of a godsend.

Also - the reason these wigs look so authentic is because they have a custom hairline designed onto it,... i think its called lacing. It too, costs a little, and doesnt last that long.

Chi Hair Straightening system?

How does the chi hair straightening work? Are chemicals involved? How long does the process take? Has anyone here done it? Can you tell me what it was like? What is the maintenence on it and how long till you have to do it again for new growth? As you all can see im Extremly interested as much details as you can give me would be wonderful.

THANKS A BUNCH!!

Chi Hair Straightening system?

tHE Chi hair straightening system is MORE of a MARKETING "PLOY" than Anything Else !

Chi Hair Straightening system?

Look for Brazillian keratin hair treatments. Kerain is natural and good for hair.

Chi Hair Straightening system?

A Chi is a brand of ceramic straightening iron. You basically use it daily but it works better than cheaper straightening irons and lasts longer. They sell some products to prevent damage to the hair - that is the "system." I used other styling products and never used theirs.

There are other ceramic irons on the market. I kept having problems with the power cords failing on the Chi, so I bought a Sedu last time and liked it better.

All straightening irons will eventually damage your hair if used daily even if you use protectants. I've been styling mine curly and gave up straightening awhile ago. It looks better.

Chi Hair Straightening system?

Hello I have experience with the Chi straightening and have 12 clients that now keep their hair straight. The chemical to do this is remarkable how the hair is transformed and the texture of the hair feels wonderful. Depending on length of hair it takes from 3 to 6 hours to be precise and accurate. Maintenance is every 5 to 6 months for touch up on new growth. I am a 30 year Cosmotologist in this industry and I have been straightening hair with Chi system for 3 years and it is a remarkable system. I have done Ethnic hair and all types that can be straightened. My name is christine May and you can email me at cmayerma@clearwire.net for further questions.

I dont understand my hair straightening protection spray?

ok it says apply on wet hair and blowdry, then they say after its dry, re-spray it on the hair before straightening....but spraying it makes our hair kinda wet...isnt our hair suppose to be fully dry? why do they say to reapply after its dry

I dont understand my hair straightening protection spray?

you should just use sleek look iron guard.

it works really good and dosent leave my hair damaged.

it makes your hair a lottle wet butit does a good job of protecting it so i think that it is fine

I dont understand my hair straightening protection spray?

I have always heard that straightening wet hair causes a lot of damage. I would just use it once when it is wet.

I dont understand my hair straightening protection spray?

they tell you to apply on wet hair because they assume you are gonna blow dry it..and then if you wanna straighten it then you have to apply it again..and if your hair is completely dry and only the spray is in it, your hair is safe to straighten :D

I dont understand my hair straightening protection spray?

straightening spray will not make your hair soaking wet if you apply it to dry hair, just lightly spritz and run it thru w/ your fingers. Its okay to have damp hair when you flat iron, in fact its better for your hair so the flat iron doesn't deplete all the natural oils in your hair, just the water, or in this case the spray. Try it, you'll prob like the outcome.

I dont understand my hair straightening protection spray?

if you dont spray that much it doesnt make it wet. i think you are spraying too much on your hair.

I'm scared that Japanese Hair Straightening will wreck my hair!?!?

Will it? Will it cause split ends and hair loss? i'm scared. I don't want my hair to fall out more. or to get even more split ends.

I'm going to deep condtion myhair, then cut it and then maybe do some japanese hair straightening? Does that sound safe and healthy for my hair??

PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks in advance!

I'm scared that Japanese Hair Straightening will wreck my hair!?!?

I'm sorry to tell you this but it will damage your hair. These people don't care about peoples hair they care about the money! Just shampoo and condition get your hair trimed on the bottom and brush every day. Don't go for the risk! I do what I just told you and I have beautiful thick hair!

I'm scared that Japanese Hair Straightening will wreck my hair!?!?

No it's not really "healthy."

Everyone looks best with their natural hair anyways or else it looks like your trying to hard...

I'm scared that Japanese Hair Straightening will wreck my hair!?!?

If you don't know just read about it to help decide so just read then you will get a idea!

I'm scared that Japanese Hair Straightening will wreck my hair!?!?

If you're freaking out that much about it, why do it? It sounds like you might end up regreting it...

I'm scared that Japanese Hair Straightening will wreck my hair!?!?

check this out it is new:

At the new Phyto Treatment Center in Midtown, a technician uses a scope to magnify the scalp and hair 200 times.

Workers will recommend specific Phyto products. For women in their 40s and up, this newest product with Gatuline helps fortify the hair shaft and increase elasticity. The analysis is free.

And for about $150 bucks you can have an in house treatment. Serums and masques are applied and massaged and rinsed and applied again.

About 500 clients have had the Brazilian Keratin treatment at the Nubest Salon in Manhasset.

First off, there's a clarifying shampoo then a quick dry. From there, the Keratin solution is sprayed on and combed through. The hair is dried again and then Meryle Nemeth runs a flat iron over the hair, many times. The results: curly to straight.

And unlike Japanese straightening, this process relaxes the hair by using Keratin -- a natural protein found in hair. It protects the shaft and the results last three to four months.

good luck

Best Hair Straightening Iron?

Best Hair Straightening Iron?

I think your hair sounds beautiful but the you can make the judgements. But, you should buy an expensive straighting iron only straighten it like once a week. The iron should only cost about $60.

Good Luck 閳?br>Best Hair Straightening Iron?

maxi glide is really good..you can get it for less at a harmons if there is one near you

Best Hair Straightening Iron?

The Chi Irons are the best in my opinion. While expensive their plates won't cause as much damage to your hair as a cheap straightener would. And they heat up fast and get really hot so you would only have to straighten a piece of hair just once so you don't get any more breakage or damage then you would if you had to keep straightening the same piece.

Best Hair Straightening Iron?

People say that the Chi works the best but, my hair stylist says that the Ion works better. But be sure to get the ceramic one that costs a little higher to be affective.

Best Hair Straightening Iron?

The CHI is defiantly the best out there. At my salon it usually runs for $250.00. Totally and honestly worth your $$$!! Contrary to some people's beliefs, it will damage your hair. It heats up to 400 F, CRAZY HOT, I burn myself all the time. You MUST purchase products from the salon that will provide protection for your hair shaft. $400 for Japanese Hair Straightening, How much to tip?

Hello,

I was wondering how much I should tip the hair stylist for a Japanese Hair Straightening that costs $400 bucks? I've read that the general rule is about 15-20%, but that comes up to a ridiculous amount. So I was wondering what would be reasonable?

The whole process should take about 4 hours for shoulder length hair.

$400 for Japanese Hair Straightening, How much to tip?

One of my good friends has this treatment and you'll be amazed! It works GREAT...You'd think she had straight hair and she has tight red curly hair normally --- she gets it wet and just has a light wave which is easily straigthened.

Dont be cheap -- It's a long process for the hairdresser too...Pay up.

$400 for Japanese Hair Straightening, How much to tip?

www.what2tip.com tells you how much to tip for each country. Report It

$400 for Japanese Hair Straightening, How much to tip?

YOUR ALREADY PAYING 400 WHICH IS A CRAZY AMOUNT SO JUST GIVE THEM 10 THEIR ALREADY RICH IF THEY KEEP RIPPING PEOPLE OFF.

$400 for Japanese Hair Straightening, How much to tip?

Where I live, it depends on where you get it done. In a mainstream salon, 15-20%. I have gotten it done in Chinatown in a tiny place who pays their employees a salary and the owner does alot of the work. There you tip 10% and that is generous since the price is already inclusive of the salary paid to the technician.

$400 for Japanese Hair Straightening, How much to tip?

i say abot 30 dollars.

$400 for Japanese Hair Straightening, How much to tip?

well..one thing i would do is just whoever worked your hair the most like 2 people..give them $30 and let them split it

$400 for Japanese Hair Straightening, How much to tip?

You are about to experience something wonderful! The reasonable amount is between $45 - $80(minimum). Remember that hair stylists live off of their tips and it is also an expression of appreciated service. Use the range to express your like or dislike of the service you have received. I hope this was helpful.

$400 for Japanese Hair Straightening, How much to tip?

Um.....one, thats A LOT of work for the hairdresser, and if all of that money is not going to her, you really should tip her good. Because, she's doing all of this for you, and taking the time to do it, you should pay her 10-30 dollers. I know it's a lot, but come on, that's a lot of time and a lot of money and she's doing it thinking she's going to get like nothing.

Make sure you bring an ipod or book during the long hours though. memeber that your pay is the hair being done. So, around 10-30 bucks. Hope I could help~isa

I need oil for straightening hair that will leave it natural-looking.?

Please i've been desperately looking for some hair straightening oil that won't leave it all oily or smelly, so that it just seems to be all healthy and naturally-straight.

I always used Biosilk on my customers. Caution:Use very little....from a pea size for short hair to a penny size for long hair. Leaves it silky %26amp; shiny.

It can be bought at most salons or at mall hair care stores. I used to manage a salon in a Walmart and we charged $15.95. Sounds expensive but it should last you a long time.

May I suggest Nexxus heat protector spray. You can get Nexxus at any store and I think I paid $11. Apply a finishing serum on it after you are done straightening the hair. I use Aveda smoothing lotion, it's a bit pricey though and No I don't remember how much it cost.

Good Hair straightening cream/mousse?

Can anyone recommend a good hair straightening cream or mousse that I can buy in England? I find most of the over the counter shop bought ones aren't that effective. It would have to be a reasonable price.

Good Hair straightening cream/mousse?

The L'Oreal Hot Straight cream is terrific together with tresemme heat protection spray. Try L'Oreal Studio Hot Straight Cream. I use the curling one and it works wonders. Alot of my friends use this one with their straightners and apparently it is fabulous. my hairdresser recommended it to me when I straighten my hair.

What hair product brands are used in "magic straightening" (I don't think "magic

As far as I know "magic straight" is just the Korean name for Japanese hair straightening. If I could find out what brands are typically used by Korean salons for this process, than I might be able to figure out where to get it done. Usually hair care companies have a public list of salons they sell to. Yuko and Liscio are the major japenese hair straightening brands in the US, but it seems like they're only available in super expensive, high-end salons. I heard that korean salons use different brands of relaxer than most other salons.

What hair product brands are used in "magic straightening" (I don't think "magic straight" is a brand name)?

If u want straight hair try using this brand of straightener..

Best permanent hair straightening treatment?

I have thick, wavy hair with a bit of frizz. I am polynesian/ German It curls when wet and goes wavy when brushed with a bit of frizz. I want to straighten it permanently or at least weaken the curl down to a subtle wave. I have heard of ionic(?) straightening and I know it is expensive, but I really do want to do it, and am willing to pay for a good job. Has anyone had this done, or know of any other treatments?. Please- no at-home remedies %26amp; dont say to keep it natural.

Best permanent hair straightening treatment?

I have the thermal straightening system done to my hair, but I do have to get it re-do every six months; while my friend who has less curly hair get's her re-done every nine months. It's really your personally perference there, but the price for touch-up's for me are about $200.00. It's worth the every penny you invest b/c I no longer have to fight the frizz, or the flat iron if I don't want to.

Depending on your area you might try thinking outside of the box. I've only gotten mine done from a Korean hairdresser and they tend to charge less vs. American hairdresser who will charge you an arm and a leg with less experience.

Best permanent hair straightening treatment?

You could try this treatment, but in the end, there's nothing out there that will permanently straighten your hair for life. Unless you are willing to keep forking over the money to have treatments done.

Curly hair only goes frizzy if it's dry, dead-ends, broken hair strands or if you over comb it. So, basically, it really is best to leave it alone and not to brush / comb it so often and let it dry naturally. I too have curly hair, and hate it but I have come to realize that it's my hair and I have to do whatever I can to stay happy about it. You should too.

Best permanent hair straightening treatment?

try doing rebonding/straightening together with treatment as treatment helps to change the fizzy condition of hair.

Best permanent hair straightening treatment?

dont be natural

Best permanent hair straightening treatment?

Go to a really good, i mean, really good hair place. Ask them for a treatment for straightning hair. They might take a while, but it turns out great.

P.S.

It wont make your hair straight for life, but for a while. And remember, if you get the treatment, every day you need to use an iron a little, or else, it wont stay as long.

Good Luck! (i dont have the patience--lol)

Best permanent hair straightening treatment?

your gunna damage your hair =[ but yeah i no how it is.. i have wavy hair and i cant stand it so im sorry but good luck with getting it better!

Best permanent hair straightening treatment?

Look into something called a Japanese perm.

It's expensive, but hey, it's only money...

Can someone who has used hair straightening products (not irons) tell me a good one to use?

I live in a city that has very high humidity in the summer. Because I have extremely frizzy hair I end up wearing it up alot to keep it from getting unruly. I would like to use a hair straightener product on my hair and would like to know of a good, safe one to use - something I can do myself. I also color my hair every 6 wks. or so, so it needs to be a product that can be safe on colored hair. I want to be able to wash my hair and not spend two hours drying and iron straightening it for the summer!

Can someone who has used hair straightening products (not irons) tell me a good one to use?

Matrix has the Sleek.look It is a really good line, but you must use the entire line:shampoo, conditoner, creme, and serum. There is a reason there is four steps. You must use them all to get the desired results. They also have an Iron spray for when you do flat iron! Good Luck!

I have the same problem with my hair. I use this stuff called Frizz Easd by John Freida. I still have to straighten it, but it doesnt take long and it lasts. You only need to use very little and it does a great job! try it out!

Can someone who has used hair straightening products (not irons) tell me a good one to use?

uhm..my aunt gave me the Matrix smoothing system. It smells pretty bad, lol. but it works. and my hair poofs like crazy in humidity!

Can someone who has used hair straightening products (not irons) tell me a good one to use?

Ive used the Matrix stuff, and it does smell bad and it doesnt work very well. Not to mention it doesnt straight. Use Herbal Essances Pin straight conditioner and shampoo. It is really great and gets rid of Frizz. It also costs less than matrix!

Can someone who has used hair straightening products (not irons) tell me a good one to use?

I use the CHI line of hair products. I have extremely frizzy hair too. I mix mousse and hair serum in my hair after I wash it. I let it dry overnight without any heating. Heat tends to make it frizzy when it is in the drying stage. Next morning, I get up and use the silk infusion and iron it straight. I do not have any problems with it staying put no matter what the humidity level outside.

What hair type works best for CHI Hair Straightening?

Hello, I have black hair and I am interested in hearing from anyone who is knowledgable (professional hair stylist preferred), about the CHI form of hair straightening. What type of hair was this method intended for? I am looking for a way to maintain a neat, professional and most importantly convenient style. Any advise/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

What hair type works best for CHI Hair Straightening?

I dont know if CHI has a specfic hair type but it works great on any type of hair and I'm sure it would work on yours. Just use small to medium size sections... it might not be able to get all the hair if you just grab a section and clump it together.

What hair type works best for CHI Hair Straightening?

Any hairtype. But dont buy the Chi it might break in 1 year or even 3 months.

What hair type works best for CHI Hair Straightening?

I know how that is, I'm half black, so I know, not all flat irons work on that type of hair. I have never used the CHI but my hair stylist, who does mainly black hair, swears by it. She even told me that she gets her hair permed every 4 months instead of every month because the CHI works so good on her hair! Ive heard only good things about that flat iron, Im even thinking about getting one myself. I say go for it, if it dosent work they way you'd like it to you can always return it.

Bio Ionic Hair Straightening?

Hi My hair is naturally straight with some wave in it My hair has a lot of fly aways and split ends I would like to have Bio Ionic Hair Straightening as I got told this would conceal split ends and fly aways. Is this true or is the process very drying? I dont want any further breakage

Bio Ionic Hair Straightening?

It is SO drying. My friend got it done to her hair and it feels like straw! Even after she gets out of the shower and her hair is wet it feels like plastic! It's so bad for your hair. If you have spilt ends, get a trim every 4-6 weeks. I considered bio ionic hair straightening until i felt my friends hair!

Bio Ionic Hair Straightening?

usually everything is not what its cracked up to be. so i assume its not going to do much more then any other hair straightener. just take care of your hair, use the right shampoos and conditoners (I suggest Sunsilk, use the kind that gets rid of flyaways.. it worked for me).. Good luck.

Bio Ionic Hair Straightening?

my hair is straight with a little wave a the end too. I've tried it but nothing happen. but make sure you do spend some on treatment on your hair

Whats the role of neutralizer in hair straightening?

When I went 2 d shop 2 buy L'oreals hair straightening cream it was sum 290/- but d nuetralizer along wit it was sum 550/-.SO does a neutralizer also straightens hair?C I hav triled many straightening creams lik belina, welastrate etc but they only keeps my hair straight when its wet, I need d name of cream that will keep my hair straight after getting dry also.Waiting 4 ur reply guyz

Whats the role of neutralizer in hair straightening?

Neutralizer locks the hair into the new shape. Same as in a perm, the perm soluton is applied and it breaks down the bonds in the hair allowing it to conform the new shape of a perm rod. After the timing is up the neutralizer is applied to the hair on the rod to lock in the new shape. Without neutralizer the hair stays the same shape it was before.

Whats the role of neutralizer in hair straightening?

Neutralizer

After the relaxer is completely shampooed and rinsed out with warm water (it can not be hot or cold and must be warm) a neutralizer solution is added to halt the relaxing process and restore the pH balance to the hair. The neutralizer is also known as a stabilizer or fixative. The neutralizer for a thio type of relaxer will actually re-form the cysteine cross-bonds in their new position and rehardens the hair.

From the time that the relaxing chemicals is removed and the hair is shampooed and than stabilized, the hair is extremely fragile and should be handled carefully.

Sometimes the chemicals will leave a reddish cast on the hair. When this happens the stylist can apply a special color rinse to remove the red cast. Sometimes this cast is not evident until the hair has been dried. The color rinse may be applied to dry hair as well.

Whats the role of neutralizer in hair straightening?

Neutralizer shampoo or neutralizer stops the action of the relaxer and locks it into the straightened state.

Some products the hair will revert back to its curlier state if neutralizer is not used.

Also, the neutralizer helps balance the ph of the hair.

Whats the role of neutralizer in hair straightening?

Actually, relaxers don't make your hair pin-straight. It makes your hair 'relax' its natural curl or wave pattern so that it will be easier to blow dry/flat iron, and to make it more manageable.

Whats the role of neutralizer in hair straightening?

The best thing you should do is japanese hair straightening...if your hair is long enough for a flat iron to grasp on to it, then you must try this! I have tried millions and zillions of products in the past and nothing has kept my hair straigt..however after doing the japanese straightening it is wonderfull...the cost is a bit high, but your hair stays straight until it grows out..even when your hair is dry it stays straight...its great...ask a nearby salon about this process...i recomend it to people who have frizzy puffy hair and want to tame it down...

I have thick curly hair. How well does Japanese hair straightening work? Does it cause much damage?

I've heard that Japanese hair straightening really helps. I know it's kinda pricey, but I think it will be worth it. But I'm still wondering about how straight my hair will get. Obviously, at the salon they will make it look great. But, how do I make it look nice on my own??? I dont' want to kill my hair with a million chemicals, but using some products are ok (I use Frizz Ease). Also, will I still have to go through the entire hair straightening regimen like always, or will there be less work on my part? Will my hair still frizz in the humidty? Can I go out at night and not have to worry about my hair pouffing up???

I have thick curly hair. How well does Japanese hair straightening work? Does it cause much damage?

Japanese hair straitening works really well..Its a lot like a relaxer but after they put the chemicles on your hair they use heat to get it to its maximum straitness. After you put it on your hair will be really strait and will not curl at all, you would have to use a curling iron if you wanted curl at all. If it is done right you will not have to use a flat iron at all, but if its not you might have bends in your hair that you will have to straiten out yourself. but that should only take a few min. The relaxer here will run you anywhere from $400 to $1000 dollars and lasts untill you get regrowth and you will have to have your roots retouched after about 3 months.

I have thick curly hair. How well does Japanese hair straightening work? Does it cause much damage?

I had a friend who had this done, and her hair was gorgeous. She said it still had a slight wave after she washed it, but that it was easy to blow out. Her hair was not frizzy at all, and the process made her hair very very soft.

I have thick curly hair. How well does Japanese hair straightening work? Does it cause much damage?

I also have curly hair and have thought a lot about that Japanese hair straightening! My mom got it about 2 years ago and her hair looks great! About every 6 months she goes back and they re-touch the roots that have grown out and it doesnt cost much! Everyday she takes a shower and goes... That's it! No products! And her hair doesnt frizz to much, but she does use Frizz Ease on those extra humid days! Good Luck!

I have thick curly hair. How well does Japanese hair straightening work? Does it cause much damage?

I am also a curly girl, and considered Japanese hair straightening for a while, and decided against it. It is very bad for your hair, and also looks really strange when it starts to grow out. If you decided to straighten it, you wouldn't be able to go back. I've been able to get control of my curls by using ridiculous amounts of conditioner... Redken All Soft in the big tub works the best for me.

But if you still want to straighten it, it is a possibility. And japanese straightening takes all the curl out of your hair, so you would not have to straighten your hair manually. You probably would still have to blowdry it, though.

I have thick curly hair. How well does Japanese hair straightening work? Does it cause much damage?

Works really well. You can depend on them. I use this Japanese straightening thing and it works wonders and never was broken. Now, before I bought that Japanese one, my old straightener broke in 6 months.

Can African-American women have Japanese hair straightening? Is this healthier than a relaxer?

I have natural hair that is proving much harder to maintain than I had anticipated. I used to have braids (read: almost zero maintenance). I don't have the time, energy or manual dexterity to do this by myself. I cannot make myself comb my hair any more as no amount of detangler makes it bearable. I'm not getting twists. I really don't have the money for the weekly press %26amp; curl that won't even hold up for a week.

I do not want to go back to braids and I don't want a relaxer, but these seem to be two options that I can deal with. Then there's Japanese hair straightening...

Can black women get Japanese hair straightening?

Have YOU had Japanese straightening and what were the results?

Can African-American women have Japanese hair straightening? Is this healthier than a relaxer?

I have never tried the straightening technique but I researched it and I thought about it. Then I realized that the relaxer breaks down the hair cuticle layers, then I discovered that the Japenese technique also breaks down the hair cuticle layers, so I figured I might as well either stick with my natural hair or go back to a perm, since scientifically they do the same thing to my hair.

I am an African American Women with natural hair(I started by transtioning for 14 months and then I cut the rest of my permed hair off, 10 months ago - now I am totally natural - and my hair is 3 inches past my shoulders - (stretched out of course).

During the fall, winter and most of the spring I wear my hair in a afro puff or I go to the shop and get it flat ironed out (like a curly, bouncy roller set). I just wrap it around and am good for about 10 days and I wear a neat pony tail for the other 4 days, then I go back to the shop to get the process done again.

But this summer and last summer (especially since I didn't get any braids) has proved challenging. I found a good routine for my hair, especially since (like you), I am not the best at styling my own hair.

Basically, I have found out, that different products give my hair different results.

If you are not careful, then finding the wrong product can make your hair big and swollen, hard to comb through and some products will not define the natural curls, we have in our hair (and it ends up looking like an unattractive afro).

Anyway, Going through all the phases and trying new styles caused me to dig into all kinds of different products to make my hair more manageable.

So here's my suggestion for you -

Remember to mix and match for your hair specifically (till you find something that works for your hair).

This is what I use:

RedKens shampoo called "Fresh Look curls"(i'm going to try the suave version of this product per it's way cheaper). This shampoo turns your hair into a sea of tiny, tiny curls, it's great for making your afro puff look defined - you will get compliments. Also, I know people say do no poo technique, but I found that my hair is stiff and swollen if I don't shampoo - I think the best technique is finding a good shampoo that works with your hair.

Suave's Professional Sleek conditioner - (I know this is wierd but wet the hair, apply the Sleek conditioner first, then add in the fresh curls shampoo with it (comb through your hair with your fingers for 5 to 10 minutes) and rinse. My hair looks really pretty when I do this.

I love IC's aloe vera gel (either the clear one, which makes the hair firmer than the blue one, or the blue one, for colored hair (i don't have colored hair but I like this one the best - it leaves the hair feeling more moisturized yet you have a slight firmness). This product gives you a neat and groomed appearance everytime - especially for neat ponytails and smooth edges).

I can also apply this stuff like a perm (the blue one ONLY). Just wash your hair as describe above (it should be easy to comb through). Part the hair in medium sections apply the gel to the roots and at the ends (apply liberally and comb through and go to the next section - apply this technique to the whole head). You will probally use half the jar and it takes about 25 minutes to apply it to the whole head. Let it dry (takes my hair 24 hours to air dry - don't worry it looks wavy and pretty as it dries) then add moisture like the triple moisture mentioned below. It gives you hair a full appearance and your afro puffs will be easy to wear daily (just try it - you'll like it). I have had no breakage from this technique - just remember not to comb through it while it's dry.

Last but not least, Neutrogena new triple moisture silk leave-in. It's filled with moisture. I can wake up, take my satan cap off, put this in my hair and pull it into a ponytail or into a afro puff - it's great with the technique mentioned above!

Deep conditioning can be done once a month I use the Organic Root Stimulator Mayonaise Deep Conditioner for this.

Eilsha

p.s. I am not affilited with any of the products I mentioned above nor do I recieve any incentives from them or their affiliates.

Also, I put a link below for a youtube video of a lady using this technique with my favorite gel. Her technique is good, but I have found that I have to apply more gel to my hair than she does because my hair is nappier than hers. Also, I don't mix the oil in, this does not work with my grade of hair, I wait till it's dry, then I add oil or moisture.

Hope this helps with you hair challenges...

Good Luck...

Can African-American women have Japanese hair straightening? Is this healthier than a relaxer?

I am not sure but maybe you don't want a relaxer because it breaks your hair off but try the regular relaxer it burns the scalp less and it doesn't damage your hair as much. You can also get curls if you want I am not sure about the Japanese hair straightener but maybe your beautician knows more about this.

Can African-American women have Japanese hair straightening? Is this healthier than a relaxer?

it is not recommended for african american or thick haired women to use the japanese straightning techniques.

They solutions that they use are specifacally formulated for fine hair with minimal curls [as you can note not many asians have curly hair most have fine straight hair] but they made this for the few "unlucky" ones.

I dont know much about african american hair, I did not study into it as much but i do know that you can use it but will not see very effective results.

hope this helps :]

Can African-American women have Japanese hair straightening? Is this healthier than a relaxer?

Girl why is your natural hard to maintain?? Of course, everything is maintenance. Whether its relaxed or not you have to keep up your hair.

Ok, since you are a woman who does not like to fuss, why dont you try twisting you own hair (i twist mine myself). On a sunday afternoon or whenever you have a couple hours, just twist your whole head as small as you can. You can use shea butter for hold. The twists will look bomb and it will last 2 weeks. You can even wash your hair with the twists in. After 2 weeks you can take the twists out and rock a twist-out for about a week.

Dont comb your natural hair dry, only detangle it in the shower while its soaked with conditioner. Creme of Nature has a great shampoo and conditioner that makes your hair soft.

Have you been on nappturality.com or motowngirl.com?? Its full of advice and style tips.

My hair is not long, i've been natural a little over a year. But u can check out my hair photo album and you can also click on other peoples names to see their albums, and see what styles they do. I dont do too many styles, i hate to fuss and i'm cheap so i rarely go to salons.

Question about hair straightening...?

When straightening hair with a flat iron, is it better to use a lower heat setting and go over your hair a few times, or a higher heat setting and go over your hair once or twice?

Question about hair straightening...?

It Depends On The Thickness Of Your Hair.

If You Have Lots Of Layers Or Really Thick Hair, Use The Higher Heat Setting 1-2 Times On Each Layer To Ensure A Straight Style.

If You Have Thinner Hair, Using The High Heat Level Is Faster, But Can More Easily Damage Your Hair Depending On The Type Of Straightener You Have. If You Straightener Isnt Really Good, Go For The Lower Heat Level 3 Times.

Hope That Helps :)

P.S. Use A Heat Protecting Spray!

Question about hair straightening...?

higher heat setting definitly

Question about hair straightening...?

i think its both the same

Question about hair straightening...?

hight heat tbut before that u can use like a heat proctions!

Question about hair straightening...?

higher heat setting, but make sure you spray your hair with something first that is meant to protect it from the heat.

Question about hair straightening...?

Lower heat several times. If you use the high one, it can burn the ends of your hair. Also, the higher it is, the more frizz it can call

( :

Question about hair straightening...?

it doesn't make much of a difference, but make sure to put on a protecting product first to avoid damage

Question about hair straightening...?

higher.

Question about hair straightening...?

it works better high but if you don't won't to completly fry your hair i would suggest low

Question about hair straightening...?

Full heat setting.

Question about hair straightening...?

I do a higher heat setting all around at night, then the next morning, after I've slept on it, I use a lower heat setting because there's not as much to straighten.

Question about hair straightening...?

my stylist told me a high setting, so you are only going over your hair once or twice. also use protective spray on your hair before you do it to prevent damage..

Question about hair straightening...?

It doesn't really matter. I you want to take time on it, low heat. But if you are in a rush, high heat. But just remember to condition your hair everyday and do it thoroughly.

Question about hair straightening...?

well it depends because the higher setting gets it done quicker but the lower setting is better for your hair. Its up to you really!

Question about hair straightening...?

I'm always use the highest setting on my straightener, and if you want a really good one try the ultra chi. it is a little expensive but definitely worth the money.

Question about hair straightening...?

It depends on how healthy your hair is. If it's fine and delicate, I wouldn't use it too hot. If it's strong and thick, hotter is better.

Question about hair straightening...?

high heat if u use a low setting it will take so much more longer. i know i dont like standing in front of that mirror straighting my hair longer then 15 mins lol i dont know bout u. but if u do that u might wanna try a hair product that protects ur hair from the heat damage i use got2b crazy sleek hair lotion and protects from the blow dryer and straightner i love that stuff it really works ha. good luck and hope i helped

Question about hair straightening...?

hgiher is faster. just make sure to not burn your hair

Question about hair straightening...?

high because its way faster but be careful because you can burn your hair

Question about hair straightening...?

a low heat setting. that way your hair wont be as damaged. even with a low setting your hair will still straighten pretty fast. if you notice that your hair feels different ( like straw feeling ) use Pantene shampoo + conditioner. it will get it back to normal fast!

Question about hair straightening...?

it's about the same, really when it all adds up

i just have it in the middle

Question about hair straightening...?

a higher heat setting.

if you go over it a bunch of times, it increases the frizz.

if you just go over it once or twice, it won't be so frizzy.

Question about hair straightening...?

Do not use a Iron will give more split ends.If you have pretty hair leave it alone God made you the way you are except it.Eye is in the beholder only the one that see the beauty will love the way God made you.Who going to do your hair when your 70 Good luck!!!!
