How do the results of japanese straightening compare to hair relaxing?

I've asked this question before, but I never seem to get a solid answer. Mostly I want to know how these two treatments compare for "non-african" coarse, wavy, virgin (untreated) hair. Do they both result in wash n' go hair? Is the huge difference in price justified for my hair type? Is there any evidence that japanese straightening would actually look better? That last question is the one I never really got a solid answer for. I'm beginning to think that the only reason japanese hair straightening costs a lot more is because it's slightly less damaging, more reliable, and can be done on more hair types. Am I wrong? If it does look better, in what way does it look better? Does it just look shinier? $500 dollars shinier? The difference in price is HUGE, so I wanna find out once and for all what the real difference between these two treatments is in regards to my hair type. Thanks :) I'm so confused!

japanese hair straightening keeps your the texture it is, except makes it straight (if that makes sense)- basically, itkeeps your hair softer, and more refine than the hair relaxing.

Hair relaxing is a cheaper method, but many people face the problem of corse hair after the process, and alot of hair falls out.
