Maybe you have them turned up to high and are burning your hair. Try turning down the heat if you can or using some kind of heat protection product

the bad smell is from the heat burning your hair, or heat damage occurring to your hair, that used to happen to me. but then I'd take a shower like 2 hrs before ( my hair is waist length)

dry my hair really well. spray heat protection from BIG SEXY HAIR and then straighten my hair. after I'd use a shine spray from tressemme. it works really well.

if the smell is still occurring.. it must be your straightener

Maybe ur straightner is too new .. leave it on for a while and the smell will burn itself away

if that's not it then get a good smelling hair spray and spray ur hair with it after ur done

Oh you know that happens to me sometimes with my chi,

after each use wipe off your straightener with a thick towel so you don't burn yourself. You should also use a pre-straightening spray/gel etc...
