Japanese hair straightening, do you have to keep your hair down all the time?

My friend told me that if you get Japanese hair straightening, you cannot put the hair up, is that true. I have long hair, and would like to put it up, but get the treatment to get rid of the frizz. Also, if you get this procedure, are you allowed to curl the hair sometimes?

No, you can put your hair up if you get it done. And I'm pretty sure that you can curl your hair sometimes. But the procedure and the chemicals that the salon uses are different everywhere, so you should always ask the beautician before you get it done.
