Hair straightening???
Your hair would look great straight, but you shouldn't do it with the Conair Infinity,Conair flat irons have a reputation for damaging hair and not lasting very long.I have had the Solia flat iron for a year and it works great.Sedu %26amp; Solia are some of the highest ranking flat irons in the world,,here are some of the reviews:

Hair straightening???
For your thick hair I would suggest going to a hairdresser and have her thin out your hair it's taking out the bulk without taking off any length or giving you layers!! It's with these weird scissors. Your hair will be a lot faster to straighten then and it will be less to deal with all around. You need to get a good flat iron the ones from the store are not worth the price they are just coated in ceramic meaning your hair because it's so thick won't stay flat all day. You need a good one and your hair won't be as damaged from the real ceramic. Here is a great website and they are having a sale on flat irons right now they are all rated and they have a variety of prices. You will also need a strong hold thermal spray to protect your hair from heat damage and keep it straight and not poofy all day.

The product I recommend.

Hair straightening???
Yea you would look great with straight hair.Try a ceramic straightener not the cheapest and not the most expensive will work great.
Ps. layers will make your hair appear fuller i wouldn't suggest it.
Hair straightening???
I have thick poofy hair (poofier than yours I might add) and I straighten my hair all the time. I have a ceramic straightener made by Helen of Troy. It does wonders for me. When I'm done straightening my hair I put in a oil moisturizer to give it some shine. Nothing else.
Hair straightening???
It would look great..so much more you could do with it..I have fluffy hair almost Afro like even when long its big (i am white) and i get it straightened at the salon every 10 days or so and it stays great but if you do buy a straightener don't be cheap and buy what they use at the salon not anything else because it is hard work otherwise and make sure it is ceramic and a small wand not these big things on the market

Straight Hair pretty much looks good on anyone of any hair type... if using the right products:
I recommend to use a straightening shampoo.. such as Sunsilk Straighten up or Pantene, botanicals, Revlon.. etc.
It will not be "poofy" or "puffy" if you also towel dry your hair when you get out of the shower, place a small amount of frizz serum or straightening cream in your hand.. rub your hands together and then through y our hair...Then towel dry again...
After this. blow dry and straighten.. you can also get a nice finishing spray from sunsilk. that will add a boost of shine and protect your hair from the heat and from split ends and breakage.
When using this spray... spray each layer you are about to straighten... There is also finishing wax if you like to use it to keep your hair in place or to stop those "baby hairs" from sticking up at the top of your head!
As for the straightening iron.. you don't seem to have really really thick hair so I would say that the straightener you have chosen is fairly good... as long as it is ceramic. thats the key to the brilliant shine
Good Luck..
And you have beautiful hair.. Curling it would look good too :D

im a hairdresser of 4 years, the best way to starighten your hair would be best to use a Paul Mitchell Jade iron. I know many people will tell you Chi is best, its not. people just like those for the name. Also apply biosilk to help breakage and frizzyness
Hair straightening???
I would not chemically straighten your hair unless you go to a very reputable professional salon, because sometimes when you chemically straighten your hair it can severly damage it, especially if you have color or do color over top of it. Also if your hair is naturally fine in texture You should invest in a good salon quality straightener, and have your hair properly thinned out, this would make a world of difference for you to handle it when styling.
