Japanese Hair Straightening OK for very fine/thin hair?

My hair is extremely curly, but also very thin. I don't mind so much that it is thin, as long as it does not get thinner. But I generally like to blow-dry my hair straight, because I feel like my scalp doesn't peek through when it's straight the way it might when it's curly and wet (because with curls, sections of hair clumps together, rather than lay flat...). I am nervous that blow-drying my hair so much is damaging it, and I'm interested in having Japanese straightening/thermal reconditioning. Does anyone know if this might cause my hair to get even thinner? I'm realistic and don't expect it to make my hair any thicker, but really don't want to do it if it will make it thinner than it is now.

Thanks!

I've had Japanese hair straightening three times now. It does not do as much damage to your hair as you think it might, and it certainly won't change the thickenss of your hair. Of course, it drastically changed my poofy, bushy hair into beautiful, thin straight hair, but you should be fine! Plus, thinner hair means that the procedure won't take as long as it would for a person with lots of hair, like me. Go for it!

For straightening hair at home, you can use a hair iron and a straightening shampoo will also help. If you wish to straighten for a longer time, you can undergo Japanese hair straightening. I found this website useful - http://hcr.in/straighten.html
