I have VERY thick, VERY dry, VERY curly long hair and am fed up with it...! It's impossible to control, and I just wear it up every day, it's boring me now, I hate it and I want a new look...
I've had my hair temporarily straightened at the hairdressers (takes them 2 and a half hours to do - gives you an idea how thick my hair is...!) it looks lovely when they do this, but after 2 days, it goes really bushy and dry and even if I use straighteners, it doesn't look as nice...
I'm now thinking about them permanently straightening it.... I don't have any colour in it...
I am worried that my hair will, after a while, still look frizzy and dry when it's straightened - does it work well?
I'm not talking aout that new Japanese straightening product, just normal chemical straightening at alot of hairdressers....
What are your experiences?
Should I do it??!?!?!!?!?
Permanent hair straightening....?
a friend of mine had very curly and thick short hair, she's had that chemically straighned, its only meant to last a few monthes but it lasted about 6 monthes before she had it done again and i'm sure she will keep havng it done
Permanent hair straightening....?
i know someone that did that, but she was very lucky to have thinish hair, and it was gorgeous.
I also have very thick hair, like you, and i would say before you have anything done, even if it means spending loads, find a product that helps the frizz. Spending all that money straight away would be a waste, also maybe consider having your hair thined out aswell, i do and it helps me loads.
Another thing i think does effect my hair, is changing my shampoo/conditioner to often or too soon. Now i change it every few months. But then finding the right shampoo is important, nothing too expensive but i use timotei.
Just go with trial and error, but dont have it straightened until you have the above sorted.
Goodluck
