Do hair straightening creams/gels actually work?

Someone told me that the lee stafford hair straightening cream/gel works really well but other other people have said that hair straightening creams/gels don't really work.

I've permanently straightened my hair before and I don't want to do it again because I don't want to harm it too much. My hair is quite curly and I don't care if its stick straight as long as its just kinda wavy rather than really curly. Do you think hair straightening creams/gels would work for me?

If you want it straight the best thing to do it put in a straightener when the hair is wet and blow dry it, then use a flatiron over it.

If you just want it wavy try putting mouse in your hair when it is wet and then drying it.

If you really want to have great results go to a stylist once and tell them the exact way you would like your hair to look and bring pictures so they get a better idea. Then ask them to explain what they are doing so that you can get similar results at home.

It really depends on how strong it is. My friend has the curliest hair on earth and nothing can straighten it then a straghten but when she puts on cream it does make it look better and like wavy......I have wavy hair and i put on gel it does come staright for the max 1 our. So maybe you should try vaious creams and maybe consult a hairstylist....They know...!

I don't know about creams and gels, but I do know that the sunsilk straightening shampoo (the purple tube) works reasonably well. It won't make your hair straight as such, but it halves the time you have to spend burning your hair with straightening irons. My hair is naturally wavy, fairly long and VERY thick, and I can get it to poker straight within 15 minutes when I'm using this shampoo.

Everyone's hair responds differently, so who knows...
