Is hair straightening really bad?

i have wavy hair with a lot of volume. i straighten my hair about once a week but people tell me that if i continue i will lose all my hair later on. I put heat protector before i straighten it. i use Dove Intense Damage Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner. i am thinking of switching hair products . will straightening my hair once a week really cause that? And what are some good hair products that might help my hair?

Well I straighten mine every day and nothing bad happens.

Although it can give you split ends and make your hair dry.

But nothing ever happens to my hair.

Just be sure to put in a hair serum before straighetning it to protect against the heat.

Well i straighten my hair every day and all it really does is give me split ends faster.

YOu just have to use really good products to protect it and i use the same one's as you do.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's only once a week.

I think its fine that you only straughten it once a week because its bad if you do it more than twice. Thats good that youre putting a heat protector on, i think the products your using is good.

it can be if you don't use the straightner properly.

you should have your hair dry when using it. if you use it when your hair is wet it will burn badly nad smell HORRIBLE.

and your shampoo shouldn't be a problem if you do the above!

and i don't believe it will all fall out- i've been using a straightner [i have very volumed, thick hair that is so annoying] for about 3 years and haven't had any bit of problem

Straightening your hair is not exactly the best thing for it, but it'll be fine if you use heat like protectants.

I straighten my hair everyday and i worry about the asme thing. Sunsilk is very good [sunsilk straighten up] the shampoo and conditioner, and i have not tried the straighten up 24/7 creme, and im sure thast even better. And obviously, your hair must be lots less damaged than mine! lol if you only straighten it once a week, but yes, it will get split ends faster, cause mine does, but also another tip maybe to get layered hair, that will help your hair alot, in my opinion. It keeps it shinier, and more volumed. =) hope that helps!

i starighten my hair every day

but before i do i put my heat protector

and this softing cream stuff in myhair

my hair is amazingly shiny and not dry at all

all heated hair tools will damage your hair a little but now its even less becuase you use protective stuff

thats gonna happen is dry hair and

a lot of split ends.

just make sure to use some sort of

heat protector spray/mousse/whatever,

and get your hair trimmed regularly.

as long as you protect it it will be fine.The worst you will get is a few split ends,besides,you wont loose you hair from doing it once a weak.Nearly all of the girls in my school,including me,straighten their hair every day and its fine.so don't worry.
